My husband and I have had a very poor experience with this company .when they first installed our our unit they were up in our attic and one of his service technicians fell through the ceiling .luckily he wasn't hurt but it did leave a large hole in our ceiling we were reassured that this would be this would be repaired quickly but it was several weeks before we had anyone come to fix the large hole in our ceiling no one from the company even apologized to us for putting this hole in our ceiling or for the inconvenience of us having to make arrangements for someone to be at the house every day for a week while the hole was repaired not to mention the many phone calls that it took to get a repairman come in the first place. A few weeks after the ceiling was repaired we came home to find our ceiling fan leaking water when they came to check it out it was found that the technician that installed our pump improperly .which was what caused our second leak and I took quite a while to get that situation taken care of also again nobody apologize for the inconvenience nobody offered to take a little our bill a little bit to give us a break for our inconvenience or anything and it took a while again to get anybody to come and fix it just the other day we noticed another leak in our ceiling we had them to come out they repair technician was about 2 1/2 hours later than he said that he would be . and the first thing he said when he walked in the door was that he wanted $50 just for walking in the door. I wasn't happy with this because he didn't even know what the problem was he was just sticking his hand out for money because he had showed up at my door. I guess .so then he was here for an hour or so and then he told me what the problem was well actually he didn't tell me what the problem was he basically break blamed it on us for not replacing our filter which we do every month. it just hasn't been the end of the month yet soon as he was leaving he told me it was $85 and I said what happened to the 50 that you originally said he said oh well I've done a lot of work but he couldn't explain to me exactly what work he had done he did however try to sell us another another $1500 worth of equipment that honestly do not believe we need. Then we get a email asking us for a review on our latest visit I told him that I regret it doing business with this company in the first place and I still do and I said I do regret that I didn't take advantage of the option in our contract they would've allowed me to have them remove the system and give us back our money I'm really not happy with this company I have told everybody that I know not to use this company and I will continue not to recommend this company. After I first posted this review, ARS did reach out to me. They said that they wanted to make things right. Told me that they would send me some gift cards. To make things better. Today I did receive 2 $50 cards. Along with a bill for $85.79. I guess I'm supposed to be happy with the $14.21 that's left. Sorry ARS, I know that you wanted me to update my review. I was connected to ARS through Home Depot to replace our old HVAC system. Salesman Jay was extremely prompt when he came to look at the existing system and gave a very reasonable and low pressure assessment of our system. After discussing features we wanted, he left us with a couple proposals. We reviewed and asked him follow up questions over the weekend that he responded to quickly. After agreeing, Jay continued to be helpful in getting things arranged through Home Depot. On the day of install (New Years Eve) there was a part missing and Jay and the technician Roy called all around to hunt one down. Roy started the install while Jay drove to purchase the part and bring it to the house. Roy did an incredible job and was onsite for almost 11 hours. Roy was meticulous and kind. The new system is beautiful and all wires, tubes and ducts are cleanly run. A new HVAC system is not cheap, but I have confidence that the job Jay and Roy did was an excellent value and is a quality install that will last a long time. ARS/Rescue Rooter I recently had a terrible experience with this plumbing service in Portland, OR. The technician was scheduled for an 8 AM-12 PM window but showed up over an hour late at 1:15 PM, with no courtesy call despite my explicit request. The job was simple: just 15 minutes snaking a kitchen drain--no inspection, parts, or repairs. Not a rush Yet they charged a whopping $557 (with a tiny "senior discount" bringing it to $501). That's 2-3x the industry standard of $95-$225 for basic work like this. No itemized breakdown provided, and it felt like predatory pricing aimed at vulnerable customers. Breach of contract, zero transparency--avoid at all costs, especially if you're a senior or disabled. I demanded a refund and apology, but got no refund. Instead, they called me to argue that I was wrong, wasting my time. An elderly disabled patient doesn't matter much, but money does for these folks. 1 star. Wow..it is not often that service providers meet or exceed my expectations; ARS and Sam E. did just that. A previously installed and still under warranty ejector pump was not working properly; the original plumber was not receptive to honoring his warranty and never made it back to repair this issue after over 30 days of communications on that issue. I called ARS from a recommendation of a friend, previously having never used their services. The issue was diagnosed, a replacement pump was obtained and installed in less than 24 hours. I found their customer service outstanding, timely and prompt. The installation was professional, very neat and completed as promised. The price was fair...from start to finish this experience was first rate. I would highly recommend ARS and specifically Sam for any future plumbing needs. I use to be an employee of ARS. While I worked for them I was hit from behind by another driver back in June. ARS never gave me an insurance card for my van or accident information in the event of an accident. As they did not other employees I worked alongside. I gave all the information I was asked to turn in by ARS including pictures. Now I have a suspended license as I was just notified by mail by the BMV that the insurance company never received the proper information of proof of insurance from ARS. ARS would not honor any item they would say, so this is no surprise and why I no longer work for this company. A 26 year vet in HVAC. So now I am out of work as I can not drive due to this non action of ARS and will cost $100 to re-instate my license. Bill Goul read more

ARS exceeded my expectations. A major part went out in our furnace, well the replacement was more than I wanted to put into a 9 year old system. I was given options on replacement and negotiated a pretty good deal. Well the unit I selected did not fit through our utility door. They sent another model up and didn't charge me for the upgrade. The install guys were able to work while a 3rd person brought the new unit over. We did not lose a lot of time, thankfully. I'm very happy with the price and service I received. I have used ARS for over 18 years and I have always been happy with their work. My ARS Plumber Joe Pagan is amazing. He is smart, efficient, and a great communicator. I had several plumbing inspection items that needed to be resolved for my home sale and Joe worked through the issues one by one. He has an unbelievable grasp of the plumbing business and was able to explain how many of my systems worked from my gutter to my septic system as well as handling multiple repairs. When necessary, he accomplished the repairs, when not necessary he told me. I totally believe in the integrity and professionalism of this company and Joe Pagan in particular. Made a call due to water in the basement. Was put on a standby appointment for that day. They arrived within one hour! The technician (Joe Pagan) evaluated our situation and made temporary repairs to at least evacuate the water. He then provided a detailed estimate on the repairs as well as some recommended upgrades to the supporting system. I approved the repairs and to my surprise those were also made that day in a very prompt manner. Joe was courteous and knowledgeable and walked me through each of the repairs made. We called on a Friday afternoon close to 5pm. Our air conditioner was blowing warm air. The house was getting quite hot and we had an infant and a child with asthma at home. I was put on a waiting list for the following day (Saturday). Shortly after that, I received a phone call that someone may be able to work us in that night. I was ecstatic. Close to 9:00pm Jason L. arrived. He identified the problem, fixed it, and our air conditioner was soon working again. My salesman Greg Poff did a great job in explaining the products and went above and beyond in helping set up the installation and was at the house to let the workmen in to install. Both Jamie Murphy and Tyler Barger were knowledgeable and went straight to work. When I got home from work they were just finishing up and I was explained what was done and how the furnace and air conditioner was going to be more efficient than my old ones. I have been a long time customer of ARS and recently had them clean my furnace. The office called and told me the techican was on his way. He was there within 30 minutes just as I was told. Very pleasant to me and my family and gave me some information about some other services ARS does. I have always liked ARS and their customer service and will continue to use them. My house had an emergency plumbing issue at 9pm before the New Years Holiday. They were the only company that was on hand to take my call. They sent over their tech within 15 minutes of my call. They were able to diagnose that I needed a new drain to the sewer system since I have an older home. The agent Shane took my call and helped pushed getting a city permit to complete the work for the weekend. I have had service contracts with ARS for many years and have always had great experiences. Reav W. came out last week for the annual water heater check up. He also checked out all the plumbing in the house to make sure there were no problems. He was very pleasant to talk with and gave me some helpful hints on the maintenance of the garbage disposal and how to make sure the pipes don't freeze in the winter. With my contract I know ARS will be there for us in any emergency. read more

My hot water had became only lukewarm. I called for an appointment around 10:00am and the technician, John Sullivan, arrived soon after. Within an hour or so, the defective part had been replaced after he'd explained the cost of the repair vs the cost of a new water heater. ARS Tech John Merkel performed a formidable task of finding a leak that was causing water to enter in my air ducts! This was on a slab! This entailed breaking up the concrete, removing the water heater, replacing a length of pipe including a Y-section from a floor drain, restoring the gravel, concrete and water heater (to specs) and left the area spotless! Excellent service and very quick response to fix a faulty main water supply valve that was leaking in our basement. I called on a Sunday evening and the technician called me right back to tell me he would be there in an hour. Very professional technician (Reave Wood) and quick repair. I needed to replace my furnance at a cost of $7800. The technicians did a great job but I did not get what i wanted. The sales person, Brandon Stinson, made an error to the work order. When I brought it up, all they offered was to refund me the difference in cost. Don't bother with ARS unless you triple check everything and be very skeptical. read more
