Twice in. Vibe lacks cheer. Matcha tea is not clean matcha (mix taste?). Had to toss it in the waste bin on my way out. Employees seem sad and lackluster. Absolute must visit if you love yourself. Their chocolates are creative and delicious, great coffee drinks served, and their iced herbal teas are divine. Their blue iced tea comes in rainbow colors and then you mix it into this beautiful shade of lavender... so yummy and refreshing on a hot afternoon. We have visited Joseph many times and always make multiple trips to Arrowhead on each trip. Recommend the honey lavender truffle, the huckleberry truffle, and the s'mores chocolate (graham cracker with marshmallow on top, coated in chocolate, with smoked salt sprinkled on top. Divine). AND, they ship the chocolates if you like and sell gift boxes of varying sizes. read more

Let me count the number of markets that Arrowhead Chocolates has cornered in this far north-eastern corner of the state: 1. Artisan chocolatiers - market cornered. Probably not another spot that could even match the style of this place for a hundred miles. 2. Good coffee - market cornered. Stumptown, pulled right. Seriously delicious. As good as Portland. 3. Tall, gorgeous baristas - market cornered. As if the first two weren't enough reason to go. And just so you don't think I'm a creep, my wife was the one who mentioned this to me. Ask her if you don't believe me. I would try to say I hadn't noticed (too focused on how good my Americano was) but that would be a lie. Quaint and cozy. This little gem is nestled in Joseph . A wonderful mix of scones, custom chocolate treats and wonderful coffee. Hand prepared everything! Your Mocha drink is made with melted white chocolate and comes with a licking spoon smothered in the same delicious chocolate. If you get anywhere near Wallowa County make a beeline for Arrowhead. If you don't, don't ever tell me. On second thought, just call them up no matter where you are and place your order and have it auto shipped every month. Seriously. I have had some amazing chocolate in my life. Chicago (the chocolate test market capital of the world), Wisconsin (home of lots of chocolate award winners) San Fran (those guys) and in Europe and Arrowhead could go toe to toe with all of them. First of all, if you go in person, order a hot chocolate, or a mocha coffee. I had the former and my husband the latter and we were both saying it was one of the best things we'd ever had in our lives. Mine was a creamy milk chocolate that has put every other hot chocolate I've ever had in my life to shame. You even get to lick the spoon! My husband had a dark chocolate quad shot thing (I say a waste of good chocolate but he was in heaven). I seriously don't know I'll ever have another hot chocolate again. Hot chocolate made from real chocolate? Novel. Organic milk? YES! Onto the actual chocolate. Luscious. Rich. Perfectly balanced. We tried a little of everything. They use local and organic ingredients (peppermint from the Oregon coast!) and the quality shines through. Everything we had was wonderful. Wonderful doesn't sum it up but I can't say amazing anymore. Key lime tart and sweet. White chocolate sweet and clear. Dark chocolate bold. Milk perfectly balanced. Salted bits....oh my. I can't say enough. It will all pale in comparison. I just sent my husband two calendar reminders for dates I would like Arrowhead in the future. This was another location that my wife and I visited while on our visit to Joseph, OR. While we visited this shop, we were able to see the chocolate coating, decoration, and packaging process that they have setup behind the glass counter. They have a very large selection of chocolates in both dark, milk, and white chocolates. We picked out a variety of 8 chocolates - 2 milk chocolate s'mores, 2 milk chocolate huckleberries, 1 white chocolate haystack, and 1 vanilla chai caramel. All of the were absolutely delicious! And we got them for a good price. When we stop there again, I'll definitely buy more chocolates. Heck, I'd be willing to purchase them online! It's well worth stopping in to check them out! read more

I had samples of chocolate here. I am trying to be healthy all, so no buying it. It was super delicious. I had several- peanut butter, chocolate cream, and a turtle. Go for it. I merely came in for a coffee. The counter help was super gracious and wonderful and sweet. The coffee- well. I'm not sure who made the coffee that day, but it was like drinking a shot of espresso. Holy cow. It was very bitter. This was with cream. I'm afraid of what it would be like without it. Stick to the chocolates and you will be fine. read more

We visited Joseph, OR this weekend and stumbled upon Arrowhead Chocolates while exploring the town. It has a friendly and inviting atmosphere even though it's bustling with people all the time. We stopped in each day we were on vacation and it was always busy. The chocolates are amazing! My husband and I are partial to the milk chocolate turtles with sea salt. Oh man, it's like eating a piece of heaven or at least the heaven I imagine! I had a hot tea each day and my favorite ended up being the raspberry sunrise. My husband tried the salted caramel hot chocolate. It was gloriously good and the chocolate came straight from the chocolate fountain- no powdered hot chocolate packets! He also had the salted caramel mocha and it was just a good! We picked up a few little chocolates, shaped like butterflies and trout, for our niece and nephew and they wrapped them up nicely for us. In addition to the atmosphere, service, and perfect products, this shop is family owned and the chocolates, coffees, and teas are fair trade! Win-win-win! It's a good thing we live 4 1/2 hours away or I suspect I would need a larger wardrobe soon! read more

What a find! After receiving a gift of the chocolates from a friend, I had to try them in person. I had the salted caramel mocha. Goodness what a treat! Not overly sweet but very flavorful and rich. Very fair pricing for such an exquisite confection. When passing through town, this is a MUST STOP. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable about the product and the store. They will have my business EVERY time I am in town. When getting a mocha, they will even let you lick the spoon after they mix it with the chocolate with the espresso. I love this place. The chocolates are fabulous, my favorite being Honeycomb, which is spun caramel covered in milk or dark chocolate. What really made me a fan was the chocolate drinks. I had a mocha, drank half and saved the rest for the next day. There was at least 1/4 inch of cold chocolate that had risen to the top of the drink! I can't rave enough about this place, whether in terms of hand-crafted chocolates, artisan coffee, or genuine friendliness. The truffles and espresso drinks deserve the highest accolades. These folks take the idea of truffle invention to the next level, infusing every bite with layers of flavor, carefully nuanced richness, and explosions of pure awesomeness. They have the traditional favorites (coconut, chocolate, chai) as well as exotics and seasonals, like Douglas Fir, Alder Smoked, Juniper-Gin, Stein Blended Whiskey. My new favorites include the tiramisu & caramel w/ sea salt. As for a coffee drink, while I'm not much on sweet drinks, I seriously can't leave without a salted caramel mocha, made with dark chocolate and seasoned to perfection with a blend of their various sea salts. Exquisite presentation, punctuated w/ molten cocoa, rich caramel, and real whipped cream. This place is definitely more focused on their drinks. I felt rushed through, and didn't have the opportunity to get a good look at the chocolates. People ordering drinks stand right in front of the chocolate case, and you can't get a good look until it's your turn to order. At this point, the sales person is ready to take your order, and there are people after you waiting. So you don't have any time to look through the 30 or 40 different options. It's clear that everyone is inpatient with you. The way they have the ordering station designed is fine for people who are just ordering a drink, because they can look at the drink menu beforehand. But there is no chocolate menu, so if all you want is chocolate, you have about two seconds to decide. Also, the sales person was completely uninformed about the different gift box options, and had to keep running in the other room ask someone else about what was available, prices, and I practically had to beg to buy one of their $40 assortment gift boxes. What I really wanted to do was choose my own assortment, but that seemed way too complicated for him. I was really disappointed with the whole experience. read more

This morning we stopped here and got two coffees which were pretty good. Banking on that experience we returned this afternoon to get two more. Absolute bunk! The coffee we were served had so little flavor that I am shocked. These people need to have the morning person train the rest of the crew. I am noticing a trend here in Oregon for weak coffee. Remember this: Some people actually like the taste of coffee. I looked back here and thought one star was a bit harsh, so now it's three. I would go back. read more

They also serve fantastic coffee (Stumptown), and of course mocha is there specialty. With seating inside and out and wifi, you could spend a wonderful, slow, long time in this joint. I was so excited to see Stumptown coffee at this far corner of the state. But when my husband who literally will drink coffee from McDonalds or Denny's leaves his coffee half full after giving them a chance to give him another brew, well, not a good thing. I have been to Stumptown shops in 4 different states and have never tasted anything as bad as this. If all you drink is sugar, milk filled Starbucks style drinks you won't know the difference. But if you really LOVE Stumptown and their distinctive wonderful flavor, don't do it. I'd suggest going anywhere else in town cause I'm pretty sure you'll get better coffee even at the quick mart. I give 2 stars cause at least they have decent chocolate but feel they are a bit overpriced read more

So amazing! I love this coffee/chocolate shop! By far and away the only place to get good coffee in Eastern Oregon. They take their time and craft wonderful drinks using Stumptown coffee. If you order a mocha, they make it using their own chocolate and give you the spoon they used so you can taste the deliciousness being used in your wonderful cup of coffee. The chocolates they make are also amazing. It seems like chocolatiers are a dime a dozen these days but a good chocolate recipe is rare. This family has a delicious recipe. Both dark and milk are rich and smooth with just the right amount of cocoa. Along with a great chocolate recipe, they make some wonderful and eclectic flavor combinations in their chocolates. Every time I go in for coffee, I see a chocolate I have to try and it is always wonderful. To top off the awesomeness, the service is excellent! Erica is so personable and makes you feel welcomed and taken care of every time you come in. This place is a must visit if you're visiting or live near Joseph. read more

OMG Incredible mocha coffee!!!! You get to choose from milk chocolate, dark chocolate ore white chocolate. Then you get to lick the plastic spoon with leftover chocolate on it.
