What a strange outdoor set up. We were there during the week, only one other family out side. we asked for one of the umbrellas table and was told only if no one else comes, or they would have to move us. Really? they reserve those for parties of 4 only. I was there, with my wife, and wanted a little shade and the chairs were WAY more comfortable at those tables. The server(a guy) was kind of arrogant, not really a customer focused server. I've had Mexican food all over including Mexico. This is by far the best ever! Truly delicious! Perfect portions. Their special family made sauces are fantastic! We bought 2 garlic & one hot sauce to take home. And will order more online. The tortillas are hand made. And you can tell. The service here was absolutely terrible. Right as we walked in, we were "greeted" by a girl in her mid 20's maybe, with brunette hair and a low bun (I think her name is Tammy?) We had asked to sit next to the window so we could see the view during our meal, however we immediately felt her annoyance with us just because we asked to be sat somewhere other than where she was guiding us. She then COLDLY served us our water with no word and left instantly, did NOT say anything like "Just let me know when you guys are ready to order!". No slight smile or anything. Felt quite unusual for average customer service. We then waited a bit longer than usual to order because that same girl never checked in with us after to see if we were ready to order, ALTHOUGH I saw she was just standing at the bar counter doing nothing. Throughout this whole experience she did not check in with us at once nor were we met with any kindness or warmness or anything that a usual waitress should greet customers with. (I've honestly experienced better customer service at fast food places and did notice caucasian customers being greeted in a much friendlier and consistent matter.... don't know if that was just a coincidence or....). Overall, the customer service from that one employee just ruined the experience overall as tourists who were just excited to try this restaurant. If you come to this establishment, expect to receive sub par food and drinks, and extreme price gouging. 2 margaritas and a very small plate of nachos was $60! Really really good Mexican food. Not enough help but that's understandable in today's ages. Waitress messed up because we ordered two virgin drinks because Husband has liver disease and she brought us out two drinks with alcohol that we both took a sip out of and realized there was alcohol in it so after complaining they quickly remedied the situation. read more

We were here as a big group of 9 right at opening time. The host was nice and friendly. We were seated almost immediately. We ordered a lot of food of course and again, the food came on time. The cocktails were delicious. All the food was great too. I was trying a chicken mole for the first time and it was very good. Everyone enjoyed their food. There were a couple of kids in our group and the host / server (should have gotten his name) offered them popsicles on the house at the end. All in all, a satisfying meal! read more

This restaurant and the staff actually like kids and it shows! The server offered ritz crackers for our baby, and they brought out popsicles for the kiddos after dinner. They actually spoke to our child and tried to understand what she was saying. Not common in restaurants where I live :) The food is excellent! OK so this is a must visit if you are ever in Joseph or Enterprise. This place was recommended to us by a friend and I am so glad for that . Its an open outdoor setting with a huge indoor space as well but if the weather is good , I would suggest one of the outdoor seats. Once seated they offer Free chips and salsa .Yayyy ! The gentleman serving our table was hoot -he had a very unique and special way of reciting menu items and even though I did not understand much of it , it was fun to see him do that while simultaneously enjoying our stunned faces . The food was ordered and the drinks arrived fast and were generously boozed ,which I am not complaining about. Cazuelo for two was a big drink and my hubby took a while finishing it . For the food we ordered the - Arozo Con Pollo- Chicken Fajita with veggies ,refried beans and rice . The dish was bang-on . Totally nailed the flavor and spice level . Chicken Diablo Fajita - Really hot/spicy but full of flavors . I would totally eat that dish again in a heartbeat even though it was pretty spicy . Arroz con Steak - I did not taste this one but it was also very well appreciated. They serve a special Smokey oil sauce with their food which they also happen to sell and that thing was like Magic . A few drops of it on anything could enhance the flavor twice over .I have also heard great things about their Flan but all of us were just too full to even think about dessert. One negative was that they charge 3.75% if you use a cc or debit card or you could pay in cash (they do have an ATM on premises) .In the times of cashless transactions this does feel like a minor inconvenience. This place is amazing. Not only do they have great food. The drinks are good too. But more than anything Jose is a fantastic waiter and proprietor. He's worked here for years and has fantastic and funny customer service. We are definitely coming back. XLSR was here. Seattle riding group. 8 riders. The margarita loco is great. First time reviewing.... Smallest shot glass I have seen. $12 tres generaciones reposado. Smallest portion carne asada I have ever been served. Requested xtra beans / no rice. $17 Small bag chips and half filled salsa portion extra charge. Requested cutlery as I was staying in a hotel. Even the plastic fork was cheap. We had plans for another restaurant but they close at 8...so we ended up across the street. Oh goodness. We arrived after a celebration of life with 20 folks. Small town...small restaurant. Nut they accommodated! Menu is pretty extensive and my favorite part...they have small plates. JUST RIGHT for me. My hubby has never met a hot sauce or salsa hot enough for him. But he met his match at La Laguna! A true hit with our crowd. Food was good and plentiful. We had a birthday girl with us. She got to ride the donkey and got a shirt to celebrate. Tourist trap..... I am a native Texan and love Mexican food. I was looking forward to trying this place and try to keep an open mind. I would say even if you aren't picky about Mexican food this place is a no go. We ordered margaritas which were disgusting and it is unlikely there was any tequila in it. The price of the margarita was probably around $9 ea based on our check, as the menu did not display prices for margaritas. I ordered the chicken quesadilla because I figured that would be safe. I was given a nuked tortilla folded in half with cheese and canned chicken (it was salty and watery) on the insides with tomatoes and raw diced onion sprinkled on top for $11.50. There is also a credit card service fee of 3.75% which is ridiculous given that most business foot that cost but that is the least of my issues. Steer clear of this place unless you want food you could have made better at home for a premium price. I will say if you have a kid at your table you service will be better at least for the child as the waiter does tend to favor tables with kids. read more

It's a typical Mexican restaurant that you would find in this half of the hemisphere. They offer complimentary chips and salsa but they charge for a refill. Chips were crunchy, the fresh salsa was on the wet side but flavorful. For drinks, we went with two Cadillac Margaritas. They were WAY TOO SWEET! (If you order one, get it with HALF the triple sec and double the lime). We ordered Small Plate enchiladas (green sauce) and the Pork Carnitas. Everything on the enchilada plate was decent, the green sauce could have used more kick and there should have been a lot more of it. The carnitas were very salty, but once you put them into a tortilla with the beans and rice, not so bad! Service was fast and friendly and attentive, well worthy of a decent tip. read more

This place is a 5 star in my book. First of all, when we were seated, the waiter was very funny, he did a Donald Duck voice for the kids and was quite funny, even other than that. I ordered a beef enchilada, and it was quite good, however the beef wasn't shredded beef. Still good, though. I was still hungry afterwards, so I ordered a carnitas taco. The waiter came over, sounding a bit frustrated, and pointed out a garlic pepper oil sauce. He said it was wonderful with the tacos, if you didn't mind a little flavor. So I put some on my taco, and it was AMAZING. A little bit goes a long way. And it's not spicy, just strong. Afterwards, I don't even know how I had room, but I ordered some Flan, and White Chocolate Blackberry Cheesecake. You heard me, White Chocolate Blackberry Cheesecake. The cheesecake was from the heavens, and it wasn't like a 90% flavored sugar blackberry sauce, it was more like real blackberries, and you could tell. Much more pleasing than artificial flavors. And don't even get me started on the Flan, that stuff was... Heavenly. Perfect amount of sweetness. Texture was perfect. Everything Flan should be. Hands down, best flan I've ever had. Before I left, I went to the bathroom, and it was average. Not bad, not exceptionally good. But the service and food made up for that. 10/10, will go again next time I visit Joseph. read more

Tourist be aware! The food is mediocre at best and expensive. The menu sounds good but what you receive is a small portion of food with canned or frozen ingredients. My order came with guacamole which was literally a teaspoon of canned guacamole. I'm not exaggerating. Bait and switch. A great burrito can be had at the Blythe cricket restaurant across the street. Best Cadillac Margaritas ever! We were staying next door at the 5 Peaks RV Park and walked over because it was convenient. There are many restaurants in Joseph, but we choose to come back the next night, too. I had tacos one night and a burrito the second night. My wife had salad dishes. The food (like the Margaritas) is full flavored and fresh. The staff were friendly and seemed to be having a good time. This was particularly true of the manager who waited on some tables while keeping everyone entertained. read more

I hardly ever leave reviews but this place was worth writing one :). We were looking for a spot to eat after a backpacking trip and saw La Laguna. We were a bit apprehensive at first, only because we weren't sure how the food would be without any other Mexican restaurants to compete. BUT. Everything was SO GOOD. I had the camarones a la crema which unfortunately I do not have a picture of because I ate all of it before thinking about it. My friends had different versions of their burritos and everyone loved their food. Our waiter Jose brought us some chiles and special hot sauces which were DELICIOUS. (We all bought some to take home). Jose was so attentive and the service was impeccable. If you're in Joseph (or Enterprise as they have another restaurant there too) eat at La Laguna!!! read more
