Went in with high expectations. Left with a bad taste in our mouths. It is a colorful nice-looking place with decent booths and great art and Mexican looking stuff, LOL. Service was good at the start and fell off soon after. By the end we had to hunt down someone so we could get a bill to pay and leave. I had 3 carne asada tacos and a side chili relleno. The meat was terrible. Quarter inch cubes of cold rubber. The relleno looked good but had 2 small strips of some kind of chili. NOT a chili relleno. It took a while to get the order out even though it wasn't very busy on a Thursday night. The Mrs. had a chicken fajita salad. Very yucky. Meat was cold and chewy, very few bell peppers and onions, and the lettuce was not good. The redeeming food factor was good chips and salsa. read more

Stopped in on our way back to Washington this past Labor Day weekend. I'd dined here several years earlier while helping my mother move a car and was excited to see this place was still around, as I'd enjoyed it a lot on my previous visit. El Erradero was as good, if not better, than I'd remembered it! It was also my wife's first time there, and she loved it too. My burrito colorado was one of THE most flavorful burritos I've ever had and she really liked her chorizo burrito. WONDERFUL experience, the only drawback is it's too far from where we live so we could visit more often! We'll definitely be back next time we pass through Baker City! read more

It's not often that I'm this stingy with stars at a restaurant but I just can't do more. The positive - one of our dining friends said the street tacos were great. My husband ordered a chimichanga and a chalupa. He got a enchilada and a chalupa. And he was disappointed in each. We also had two Huevos Racheros and very very bland. No sauce to speak of. And last but not least we ordered scratch margaritas - we asked if they made scratch margaritas. And our waitress said' "Yes," numerous times. Not scratch. . On a very hot day the A/C was struggling to keep it cool. Service was exceptional and welcoming. I had the #3 combo with tamale and relleno. I like a corn husk on my tamale and there was none to be found. It was flat instead of cylindrical and covered with cheese. My family was traveling through Baker City after a vacation. We were sick of fast food and had the idea to order takeout here. Great decision. It is just a couple minutes off the interstate, and the to-go order was done in fifteen minutes or so. I asked for additional to-go boxes so that I could divide the entrees among our kids. It took just a couple minutes to portion the food out so they could eat en route. The server who was helping with our to-go order was extremely friendly and accommodating. And the food was fantastic. Their salsa is in the top five of restaurant salsas I've eaten. It's full of tomatoes and onions and has just the right amount of heat to please the masses who like it on the mild side while still giving a shout out to those that like hot salsa. To sum up, if you're traveling through town, HIGHLY consider skipping the fast food on the strip and trying this place out. read more

My boyfriend and I were very impressed with El Erradero. The service was absolutely top notch. Our salsa and chips never even got close to running out before a waitress came and replaced them with fresh bowls and baskets. A note about the salsa: it is excellent! Just the right amount of spicy, the burn took a while to build, but it was so good. The waiter that helped us was most accommodating when we asked for small changes to our orders. Our meals were both hot and tasty. I had the chimichanga and tamale, both with shredded beef. My boyfriend ordered the corizo burrito and a ground beef taco. No gripes or complaints about anything from either of us. We did share an order of their homemade flan. It was very good for flan, but it's not really either of our tastes. If you are looking for a great Mexican spot between Ontario and Pendleton, this is it by far. read more

We are just visiting Baker City. We were in the mood for Mexican food and the reviews advised this place was mostly good. Some 1 or 2 stars, but the majority had high reviews, thus the average of 4. First impression, not good. We should have walked out before getting seated. The place is absolutely filthy. Dust accumulated on every extended groove on their over textured walls. The tables were all leaning because of a shortened leg or maybe another screw or two that needed to be tightened. The decorations were Mexican oriented and expected. Although those too, were worn out and not maintained. We looked past the dirt and wear and tear to give the food a chance to be a diamond in the rough. We ordered margaritas. The photos in Yelp showed a typical margarita. Mine came in a regular pounder glass. The flavor was there though and the ratio was stiff so I got a good buzz from one drink. Then I ordered my food. Yelp reviewers advised the Chile relleno was the best. So I ordered that and a chimichanga. The Chile relleno was just canned Chile and a layer of scrambled egg. Not authentic. Not good. The chimichanga was barely grilled. Not crispy. The chicken was not seasoned. Just boiled. My fiancé's shredded beef was loaded with fat pieces and no other ingredients. The tamale was very small and maybe a tablespoon of meat. They did provide complimentary chips and salsa. Both less than mediocre. The deli chips at Safeway are 100% better. The salsa they provided was room temperature jarred salsa. One thing I can compliment is their guacamole. It was pretty good. Altogether, the $37 bill was not close to worth the food value. This is just a restaurant mostly concerned about making money and not at all putting effort into their food. This is small town so the residents don't have much of a choice in getting Mexican food so they will return. I will never return to this restaurant. Waste of money/time. UPDATE: I have been on the toilet for the last hour on and off. The FDA needs to investigate this restaurant for cross contaminating or rodents. read more

Coming through town on a road trip and found this lil gem thanks to Yelp. Very kind customer service, and food was delivered quickly. It was soooo good and sizeable in portion.
