I'm in town for the night for work. I will be heading to Sumpter for a wedding tomorrow so we are staying the night in Baker City. Of course we googled local restaurants near us. After checking out a few places online, we decided to head to Lattitude 45 Grille for dinner. Pulling up to the venue, you notice how updated and pretty the joint is. There are a couple tables outside and beautiful potted flowers in the front, it's quite welcoming. Walking in, we were instantly greeted. We got sat in a small room that had a couple tables. It was separated from the main dining area. I appreciate the room we were in cause it created more of a personnal environment for my friend and I. The room was bright and vibrant. I love the big windows, it gave us a great view. I did check out the menu online. I noticed they had lobster manicotti. I was sold! Pasta, lobster and sauce, you can't get better than that! We breezed through the menus again while our drinks were getting taken care of. As many times as I looked the menu over and over again, I couldn't find the lobster manicotti. The waitress confirmed that they didn't offer it anymore. Such a bummer cause it was the only thing that really caught my eye. For dinner I settled for the chicken fontana with the pesto sauce on the side. I also got alfredo as my side since it was an option. I like that they give you pasta options as a side besides your typical fries and salad. Our meals came out super hot. I got a beautiful piece of chicken and a nice portion of alfredo. I can tell the pasta was freshly made, I was pretty close to burning my mouth cause of hot it was. The sauce on the pasta was rich and creamy. I did add a little salt and pepper to it, it needed just a pinchmore salt. The chicken was flavorful! Whatever they used as a crust on the chicken, it was nice! I used some of the alfredo sauce to dip the chicken in. The chicken was good but it was also kinda dry and there wasn't much cheese in the middle. The alfredo sauce really was needed. Our sweet server got a piece of the peanut butter cheesecake for my friend's birthday. She also put a birthday candle on the cheesecake for her. Little gestures like that are the best. The cheesecake was delicious! It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It had a good amount of chocolate on top. There were pieces roasted peanuts in the cheesecake that added a nice crunchy texture to it. It's a must have. Lattitude 45 was packed when we were leaving. Clearly they are doing something right. Service was great. The venue is beautiful. They produce good food. I'm happy we got to check this joint out and celebrate my friend's birthday here. I don't know when we will ever be back but if we are, we will definitely come back. And hopefully by then lobster manicotti will be on their menu! read more

We were looking for a casual restaurant while staying in Baker City. Latitude 45 was within walking distance to our hotel. They were busy on a Saturday night, but the service was good. My husband likes iced tea, and it was brought to our table quickly. He ordered a burger with salad, and I had the spinach salad. Both were generous portions and tasty. There were several large family tables with children being served. I noticed the server brought crayons and a color sheet to keep the children occupied. I was told it was the best restaurant in town, I had very high expectations but I was disappointed, the food is nothing special, I ordered fries and it came too salty, I made another order asking for the potato to be unsalted and it came salty again, the pasta with white sauce was ok but the chicken was too seasoned and I couldn't eat it, I asked for a coffee and the server didn't bring sugar or cream. Latitude 45 could be faulted for being misleading. There was an oddly placed sign that led us down an alley looking for it. We went on a confusing walk, circling the block to find we'd be just steps away from it. However, Latitude 45 could also be lauded for being misleading: from the reviews and prices it might seem like one of those snobby restaurants, but inside we found friendly staff and - best of all - a TON of high quality food for the amount you spend. The "Mediterranean Nachos" were interesting. The best part was the warm marinara sauce served on the side. Since they didn't dump it all on top, the chips stayed crunchy. The toppings were fresh and delicious, but there could have been more of them. THE PASTA. This is where Latitude 45 shines. We got the "Creamy Pesto Pasta" and "Smoked Salmon Pasta". Ordering both was easily enough to feed four people. The sauce was creamy and fresh, with hot gooey cheese melted on top. Cool spot in even cooler Baker City! I had the Serrano burger which was good and super well cooked (as in perfect not overdone). The side salad was also refreshing with the red pepper vinaigrette and only $1 extra (as of this review date) to sub out fries with. Staff was friendly and attentive even though they were pretty busy and I came in close to closing time. The outside seating was also a plus on a super nice evening. My only qualm is that the burger was slightly smaller than what I'm used to in a restaurant burger. Not a big deal at all as it was still more than filling and quality meat. It was just cooked perfectly, definitely wanted more to take home! All in all, great spot. Prices seem comparable in the area and fair for the food itself. We ordered steak sandwich w/fries, chicken carbonara, and steak with pasta. Our appetizer was the bruschetta with tomatoes. Every thing was delicious and nicely plated. The french fries were super tasty with a smoky seasoning on it. The carbonara was excellent! The chicken was thinly sliced and oh so tender and also well seasoned. My first time to have a Brandy Alexander. It was like having a dessert appetizer before the meal. Amazing! I would definitely return to this restaurant if we pass through Baker City. Nice place with limited outdoor seating. We sat outside with our pup. My husband had the Asian chicken sandwich which he loved! He said it was fantastic. He had the Barley Browns Handtruck pale ale. It came with fries. Good fries. I ordered the Mediterranean Caesar salad. Our server said it was a great salad so I was excited. When it came it seemed to be just a bunch of romaine lettuce with a little tomato, very few bell pepper pieces and a light dusting of feta cheese. I don't think any salad dressing was on the salad. We had to wait a long time for our food so I wasn't going to send it back. I just asked for more feta and some salad dressing.
