Hands down the best place in Baker, the smash burger picture wasn't the best but it tasted fantastic, it's during lunch on the weekends and it's worth the time to get. It's simple, not over played and worth getting. All the sides and appetizers were shared family style as there were 4 of us dining and it was all great. Service was great, very accommodating. We even got 3 smash burgers to go and ask them to put sauce on the side and deconstruct it, since it will be out late night food after a wedding. What a gem!! Stopped in on our return trip to the midwest and we were thoroughly impressed. Chill vibe, casual, wam atmosphere with amazing food and great service. With no reservation, we sat at the bar (we prefer to anyway) and had a couple of drinks, apps and entrees. For apps we had the Pork Belly Steamed Buns and the Cajun Crawfish Cakes...both excellent. For Entrees we had the Elk Dutch Oven Lasagna and the Louisiana Gumbo. Again, both outstanding. The flavors spectacular. Wish we lived in the area so I could eat there more often, try everything on the menu! read more

An Unexpected Gem in Baker City! I don't often write reviews, but The Cabyn Cocktail Bar & Kitchen absolutely deserves one. From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and beautifully curated interior hinted that this was going to be more than just a typical dining experience -- and it absolutely delivered. I ordered the beef rib and the watermelon salad, and both were truly outstanding. The beef rib was enormous and unbelievably tender, with a depth of flavor I've never experienced before -- rich, smoky, and finished with a vibrant chimichurri that brought it all together. It's hands-down the most flavorful beef rib I've ever had. The watermelon salad was the perfect contrast -- refreshing and bright with juicy chunks of watermelon, crisp cucumber, peppery arugula, and creamy goat cheese, accented by a subtle hint of mint. It was beautifully balanced and could honestly stand on its own as a main course on a hot day. Even though I'm not usually a drinker, the cocktail menu was too tempting to resist. I tried one of their house creations, and it was not only expertly crafted but also a visual treat. Watching the bartender at work was like watching a live performance -- precise, confident, and completely in the zone. She was incredible, and it's clear that this team takes great pride in what they do. It's worth noting that The Cabyn is run by a husband-and-wife team, which adds a wonderful personal touch to the experience. There's an energy in the room that only comes from people who genuinely care about what they're building. The prices were more than reasonable for the quality, and the vibe -- cozy, eclectic, and relaxed -- makes you want to linger just a little longer. The cocktails were really tasty. I got the pulled pork tacos and they were just perfect, delicious and you could tell the meat was very fresh and all the toppings. Holy Moly! Some real deliciousness has arrived in Baker City. Super fun menu of small to large plates that will let you know that something special is gonna land on your table. The selection of things that filled a glass are just as creative. The building and bar offer a wonderful and warm setting for plates of memorable dining. If you did not know it, you would guess you were in an elevated, sought after metro restaurant experience! This is a special place located on a fascinating small town Main Street - very cool buildings w plenty of character - way worth pulling off the highway for. We stayed in Baker (Boise resident) to enjoy Anthony Lakes skiing and try out this gem - we had heard about it from friends - what a treat. We tried several dishes and had to return the next day. The lasagna, fondue, sticky pork buns and an even better beet salad delivered way above expectation - all food and drinks had unique wonderful tastes and creativity!
