If you find yourself in Ontario, OR (about 57 miles from Boise), and are looking for a gathering place that serves wine and now vodka with amazing charcuterie boards and other good eats, checkout Second & Vine Bistro! Tell Suzie we sent you.

After driving for seven hours with three small dogs, we pulled into Ontario tired and hungry. The default would've been McDonalds, but that would have been just depressing. A quick check of Yelp popped this interesting little place. We only did take out (sadly, they have a great dog friendly patio). The house they are in is charming , the owner and staff are very friendly and the food was great. We had a charcuterie board, an oriental chicken salad, and apples and Brie. A very welcome change for a traveling family. We have bookmarked this place and will make a point to stop back by for a wine pairing dinner event.

A secret little gem in Ontario! It was our first visit here and it was a wonderful experience! Excellent selection of wine, as well as beer. We enjoyed the Meat and Cheese Platter, and the Sautéed Mushrooms, both were incredibly delicious. I also had frozen wine for the first time, I'm addicted! They offer beautiful outdoor seating, and very intimate, cozy indoor seating as well. The owner Susie was so nice, and the service was great! I only wish they were open 7 days a week.

Came early-ish at 5:00 and there was about 50% of the seating available. Looking over the menu we agreed to get items to share vs doing individual items. Lots of options and the usual spousal "what do you want, idk what do you want" and we agreed to start with just one wings and one flatbread. Unfortunately as we are about to order they put on order of empanadas and the artichoke dip on the pickup counter and I blurted out, "and those". Then the food arrives...too much??? See pics. Well I can say not one bite went to waste, though it took two days(leftovers) to finish it all. We stayed only 2 minutes away and actually got another to go order of the dip again for the second night. PS we paid a few bucks for extra crostini(sp?) for dip, and used them all, highly recommend. Everything was great, the dip was to die for as were the empanadas. The place was packed by 6, and while only two employees handled it all they did a great job and earned a generous tip, which ain't easy from me. Place is cute and has a cool hangout vide with decent beer and very good wine selections. Gonna be hard choosing between our two favorite Donnelly, heck Valley County, eateries but at least the same folks will benefit.

They seem to participate in a lot of the downtown Nampa events throughout the year. Andrew, the owner, is awesome. Always knowledgeable and engaging with customers. I've heard very positive thongs about the wine club, but I haven't enrolled...yet. Great place to meet up with friends, for a date night, or to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink by yourself. It's labeled as a wine bar, but they have a great selection of beers on tap. And I'm not sure if they have a "full bar", but they have Bloody Mary Sundays and behind the bar, a great selection of bourbon/whiskey.

He served them, then went back and got us a menu. Why he couldn't just bring us both a menu is beyond me. Once he came over and gave us a menu we asked about the Caprese' that was on the chalk board when we walked in. He informed us that he had a group of 50+ coming in for a reunion and that he was unable to accommodate us, but could do a premade charcuterie board. We ordered the C-board and two glasses of red wine. From that point on we were not checked on once and our C-board never came. We finished our wine and checked out. Upon leaving there were 7/50 ppl there for the reunion. In all fairness, if you've got a party planned, close your store and remove the chalkboard advertising food... Would not recommend.

They felt he was the best in the area. They serve small portions which is fine. My wife and I enjoyed the dinner and the desserts. You can tell that the chef is on top of his game. The restaurant has a nice, open feel to it. Relaxed atmosphere.

Place isn't large but tables were open, though it filled before we left. There was one server and 2 in the back, so our waitress was busy. She did well, on service, though not overly attentive, but she was spread thin and we didn't suffer at all from a lack of attention. Menu was just the right size for size of the place and staff with Burgers, Sandwiches, Steak, and Pastas. Wife and I shared 3 items, French Onion Soup, Wedge Salad, and the Bacon Bison Burger with homemade chips. The burger was outstanding for $14, cooked right and flavorful, and the chips were a pleasant surprise. The Wedge , $13, was ample and tasty, though the very top of wedge had to be discarded and was obviously wilted. I'll state here, I fully understand Valley County should be graded on a slight curve, and lettuce is a tough one, but I'm sure cook noticed when cutting. Rest of lettuce was good. Rest of salad was also. Lastly the French Onion Soup was not great. Basically the onions were not cooked long and slow enough to develop flavor, heck they were firm. We will be eating here again, as the food and service overall was good and the location is nice and awful convenient. Prices was inline with what you get and for Valley County. Service was good, but I'm sure it could be a bit better with an extra server on busy nights, so they can have more time. I was surprised to see no real info on hotel site regarding restaurant or a link on their website so I'm not sure how many people know this is available while visiting Cascade.
