Came in around 7 pm on a Friday night and waited about 15 minutes before we were seated. My husband had wanted to try this pub as we passed through Baker City. He ordered a sampler of all their beers and it was $10 for 8-5oz samples. He also ordered the pastrami/reuben sandwich, I ordered the steak salad and we opted to order our toddler chicken tenders. We enjoyed our meals. Mine was the spicy shrimp pasta, and my wife got the chicken alfredo. Both were well-prepared and tasty. My only complaint was that the beer offerings shown online are only available in the tasting room across the street. The Steeple Jack IPA was an okay IPA - I had hoped to try some others. Went here for dinner while staying at the Geiser Grand in Baker City. It had good reviews and is only a couple of blocks away. My wife and I almost always split dinner meals because portions are usually so large. When we don't, we almost always wish we had. This was one of the times we didn't and wish we had. The portions were large and both were easily splittable. Wait staff was attentive, but not hovering. I had the Jalapeño Chicken Pasta and it was very good. Just the right amount of kick and the flavor was full, helped by the sun dried tomatoes. My wife had the Nachos and enjoyed them as well. It was a good choice. read more

Great food friendly staff wonderful beer selections. My favorite restaurant in eastern oregon

Yes! Yes! Yes! This place rocks. We were in town for a quick weekend trip and stopped in. First impression - this place is hopping and there is no grass growing under the feet of this staff! I believe there were 4-5 waite staff and they moved like a well oiled machine and yet were totally attentive to all their tables. We started with the fried pickles - YUM. Spicy and fried just right! Boyfriend ordered the pub burger, and he loved it. He is a bit of a burger snob so that's saying something. Cooked exactly as he asked and full of flavor on a nice soft onion bun. The fries were nice and crispy too! I ordered the Bangers and Mash. Devine! They need to sell their mushroom gravy with bacon and peas by the quart to take home! Since we weren't starving and the portions were plentiful we each took half home. You know food is good when it's delicious the next morning heated up! read more

The atmosphere was very romantic. The personal space was amazing. The cocktail I ordered was the Huckleberry Lemonade. Let me just say I hate the taste of pure alcohol. This was one of the best drinks I've ever had. It was light and refreshing. We then ordered out food. My husband ordered the Kobe burger and I had the steak sando. Let me just say that the service was outstanding. My husband also ordered the small guitar beer and it was wonderful. Light refreshing and just a small hint of citrus. After several hours in the car road-tripping from Texas to Oregon, this stop was just what we needed. Immediately, we fell in love with the ambiance. Chris Stapleton followed by the Lumineers on the radio is a great nod to the vibe and mood of the place. My husband got the wheat beer (forgot the name) and I got the Point Blank Red ale. Started with a Point Blank Red, nice and malty. The wife had the Pallet Jack IPA, great hop nose and flavor. We shared a fish & chips and each got a side salad. The salads were very good, with different lettuce types, cherry maters, croutons and plenty of dressing on the side. The fish was very crispy with thin breading, not greasy at all. Tartar sauce was good, and Joe brought malt vinegar to the table which my half English wife is fond of. Fries were crispy and herb seasoned. Joe did a great job as a server, even brought extra napkins, as it really is finger food. Nice ambiance in an older building, but lacking signage, probably historic district policies. First time staying in Baker City so we were not familiar with any of the restaurants. After looking over menus and pictures, we decided on Barley Brothers. It was great decision. They not only have good beer, but thirst quenching cocktails. We were seated in nice booth and it was not loud inside. Our waiter was great and explained dinner choices. We ordered a Mule and Barleyhound (their version of a Greyhound). For dinner I ordered a Swiss Mushroom Burger and he had the Steak Sandwich. We both opted for side salads, which were large and fresh. The burger was medium rare and served on a fluffy onion roll. His sandwich was served like an open faced Philly Cheesesteak. Ate here as we were passing through on a road trip. It is family friendly. Seems a local hangout. Good service, waiter never had to be asked for refills, he was right on top of it. I had the ribs and the portion was large, included a good pile and mix of fresh veggies. The ribs came apart easily but the sauce was not very flavorful. I was up for a great Beer and dinner. I ordered the Breakfast Stout, which is delicious. Do not trust a craft beer you can see through. I asked the server what would pair well with that beer. On the recommendation I went with the Rib Eye. . Steak was good, re-hydrated potatoes were not what was anticipated and lack seasoning. Vegetables were a mix of processed carrots, beans, fresh Asparagus and Broccoli - again lacking any seasoning. Service was great. Unfortunately servers can't fix the kitchen. read more

Stopped on our way to Boise. Seemed like Baker City is absolutely gorgeous but in the middle of nowhere- so we weren't expecting much. Boy were we wrong. The drinks- beautiful. The food- delicious. Staff was welcoming and thorough- we were delighted. Sat outside (and while the place is on a busy thoroughfare with lots of diesel trucks in all their glory) we enjoyed the perfect weather and our delicious food. Seriously, I would be shocked if I had a beer here that wasn't good. You are pretty much guaranteed a solid beer.

We stopped here for lunch in early November, 2022, while on a long road trip to SLC. We liked the restored building-it's a cool old bar. We thought we'd give it shot. The staff was great, attentive, helpful. I ordered their burger. While most burgers are pretty standard, this one was great. I've tried to pin it down- I think they used a fresh patty, and the onions, tomato, sauce were all fresh. Must be pride in their product. How can a basic burger be so good, that I am writing a review in December? Go there. Get the burger. read more

This review is purely for some of the food items, not the drinks. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and Swiss burger. The Mac and cheese was a solid portion and a good amount of lobster in it. I'd rate pasta a 4.5/5 The garlic bread it came with was also very soft and a nice addition. The Swiss burger was your standard but very juicy. Fries were standard and good. Solid 4/5. Anybody else notice that the beer tastes watery and unbalanced? It's a brewery, good beer should be the main highlight and most of the reviews I've read don't mention the beer much. The service is great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and unlike most brew-joints, it's not very noisy. The beer though. It's just not good enough to get me to come back.
