Come hungry because the Embers Pizza is no joke. It's absolutely loaded with meat and veggies, and every slice is piled high with toppings. We were convinced we'd finish it, but it won. We happily took most of it home and enjoyed it again the next day. One thing I really appreciated was that they were happy to pour a few tastes of the beers on tap so I could find the right one instead of guessing. I landed on the Moose Drool, and it was the perfect match for the pizza. Great food, great beer, and friendly service. It's a cozy place with atmosphere! The service was excellent and friendly. The pizza; one of the best I've ever had. They don't load it down with cheese which I appreciate. We ordered the Embers and added pineapple . Waiter suggested the medium and we had 4 pieces left over. Possibly because the side salads we ordered were a meal themselves! Writing this review for a visit in September: My husband and I came here after and backpacking trip in the Wallowas, and we had a 10/10 experience. Great outdoor seating with friendly staff and quick service. We split a pesto veggie calzone with a salad and some beer. We both hadn't had a calzone in years but it truly knocked our socks off. Such crisp dough, fresh filling, and really good sauces (ranch, hot honey, marinara). The salad was delicious and appreciated after many days of backpacking meals. Also great selection of local and far away beers on tap. Will definitely come back here next time we're in the Wallowas. read more

But the treat is the pizza! we were lucky enough to be there on a Saturday night and listened to a live band playing in the courtyard. they backed right up to the street, as we walked by we were right behind the band. What a great vantage point. that drew us in. next thing you know we are eating pizza and watching a great band! Cute little spot on Joseph with a patio. We came in after a long backpacking trip and were seated quickly despite it being crowded at 2pm. You could tell the staff was working hard with the crowds. I was back in the Joseph/Wallow Lake area recently and my travel companion and I enjoyed the food from Embers a few times during our stay. Whether dine-in or take-out, everything was good. The stand-out was the Hot Hawaiian Pizza. Maybe the best pizza I have ever had. I will think about that pizza for years to come and it probably has ruined me for other pizza. The hummus platter appetizer was nice, salads were good and the Bacon Jam Burger was delicious. The place is usually packed but they do a great job of keeping things moving. Owner was very nice. Pizza was awesome. They use a sourdough crust (not the thin crust charred pizza that is popular right now). So it's a little more traditional. It was cooked to perfection. We had phenomenal service with Miranda! She was kind, very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for dinner. We ordered 'The Local' calzone, which was amazing and full of flavor. Our daughters ordered wings-- they tried the dill pickle dry rub, Texas twister dry rub and the whiskey bbq. when my wife and I first arrived it was rainy, all the outside seats were taken, they had umbrellas over them. so we were seated inside. which we were ok with. then, a older waitress came up to us and said" you shouldn't be in here" she was annoyed, clearly. although there was a family of 5 sitting right next to us, 2 parents and three children. so I got annoyed. I got annoyed. so my butt got wet from the bench outside, they didn't dry it off, but I was handed a towel I guess to do it myself. but lolol it was a little late. thankfully we had a good waitress, albeit busy. but nice. we started with a huge pretzel with spicy cheese sauce and my wife had the cheese curds with a spicy sweet jalapeño dip. we both had pizzas. ,my wife had had the "Lanny" which was apples, bacon and arugula with a white sauce . she was satisfied, she did add" not enough white sauce" I had the carnivore, an all meat pizza, we are locals so I had this pizza before. excellent pizza. we'd never had this experience before here. it's always been good and pleasant. did chat with the owner, but didn't discuss the odd attitude of the waitress, so if I had to come back, I would hope not to get this waitress again. read more

This place was packed when we went Memorial Day Weekend. We gave the staff a phone # and they called us when a table was ready. Even with how packed it was the wait was not bad. It was a bit too cold at night for all the doors and windows to be open, with the ceiling fan cranking, so I wore my jacket through dinner. I'm on vacation in Joseph. I drove 22 miles round-trip to pick up a chicken salad and a pretzel. The pretzel was dry and hard. It felt very old and they forgot the dipping sauce. A pretzel without dipping sauce isn't a pretzel. The salad was a mess. It was just a bunch of chicken dumped onto some lettuce. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Place was PACKED last night 8/5 at about 5:15pm and had OUTSTANDING service ! This place was so yummy after a day of biking and hiking! We filled our bellies & it was perfect. The salad was fresh with a great balance of Chicken and flavor! The dressing was so good, I eat lots of salads And this is one of my favorites for sure. My partner said the burger was delicious, he didn't even save me a bite . I did manage to sample some fries tho. The fries dipped in the bbq ranch dressing was yummy. I also dipped them in ranch dressing too, that's my favorite dip. You get the home town feel with 17 microbrews on tap! All of the staff was very friendly. There is a ton of parking right up front. It seems to be a spot that all the locals go to. We forgot to take photos of our food but we got the jalapeño poppers and wings. For the wings we got half mango habanero (which actually had a kick to it!) and the hot honey (sweeter than excepted). They have a great patio filled with tons of tables and shade. They also had these great fans on the tables that kept the flys away. If you get a chance this place is worth checking out! read more

The food, service and atmosphere here were all amazing! The fish tacos are excellent. Absolutely delicious. My husband turned a sandwich into a wrap and wished he had left it as a sandwich but it was still good (he prefers a lot less lettuce). The fries and potstickers were excellent as well! We've been to this restaurant twice in five days. Good pizza, great brews & ciders, and wonderful staff! The first night we were there, they had a live band and were very busy. Even with the crowd, their staff were great at quickly getting to our table. Our pizza was very good! When we came back to Embers for lunch today, we'd planned on trying another brewery, but the two we went to had fewer options for drinks & food. We tried Slack Drinks & Dining across the street, and they had some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and just go to Embers! read more

Not going to lie; we went into Embers to get out of the rain and use the Wi-Fi. What a fantastic surprise. The hummus platter was fit for a king - complete with warm pizza bread to dip in the hummus. The Fried Raviolis were equally delicious. We sat out on the deck where the people watching was great. Our server, Reagan, was excellent.
