Cute chocolate shop located in the center of Joseph on their main street that I was super excited to try doing our most recent trip. The inside was clean and their was a fair selection of chocolate. Unfortunately the service was suboptimal. The shop was empty except one other customer who a different clerk else was assisting. The counter attendant who was available rudely asked if we were going to buy anything as I was deciding which flavors to purchase. Still ended up purchasing half a dozen truffles. This little chocolate shop in Joseph seems to have the best coffee in town! I got an iced mocha with dark chocolate and the actual espresso was smooth and delicious. They made it by melting some actual dark chocolate into the drink and I think it's a great idea for a chocolate and coffee shop. Unfortunately it didn't work out super well with the iced version because the melted chocolate all solidified and fell to the bottom. I ended up with something like an iced latte with and bunch of chocolate bits at the bottom which wasn't bad but wasn't really a mocha. read more

This is a special place. I don't usually get sweet coffee bevs but I will get a mocha here every time. The same chocolate they use to make their house chocolates is what is used in your mochas! We popped in here specifically for the chocolates, and they were excellent! We got salted caramel and milk choc, peanut butter, lemon, lavender, all w milk chocolate and they were delicious! We didn't try the tempting chocolates but, man, they looked good! Just Stumptown coffee so nothing to special. I regret not getting the big, soft, chocolate chip cookies with merry caramels and sea salt. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. A great place to sit and people watch. In November, they were offering a Cure All drink with cayenne, cinnamon, ginger and more. We cut it with apple cider thankfully and it was still very spicy. Wow! I am in love with this place. Not only is the decor rustic and welcoming, but the drinks are smashing as well! I recently moved to Enterprise and will be here for about 12 weeks doing a clinic rotation. I was looking for the perfect cafe to do work on the weekends and bam, I walked into arrowhead. I like how natural the lighting is in the cafe. Also, the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I've never been a huge mocha fan (usually just opt for a Americano) but decided to give it a try since they are famous for their chocolate. I must say, I could be converted after this milk chocolate mocha with soy milk. My favorite part is the chocolate spoon sample that they give you while you are waiting for your drink. Yum read more

Arrowhead! I miss this place already. Have a box of truffles to keep me going this week, but don't know what I'll do after that. This place has some of the most amazing chocolate I've ever had. Its fresh home made Cacao powder I guess that makes it so tasty. Before I get to the chocolate, do do try the Chocolate Mocha. Its is heavenly and they let you lick the spoon from the chocolate fountain of the flavor you ordered (milk/white/dark.. top tip- go with dark). After you've finished your Mocha, turn your attention back to the dazzling display of truffles, and struggle to think of how many you really want to buy. Its a hard choice, but you'll get in the end eventually. I think I got 8 different varieties in the end and they are all amazingly delicious! Went on a weekday for coffee because Reds was closed. My friends went in and didn't come out until five minutes after I had gotten a to go breakfast order with coffee down the street. One of our girls ordered a hot americano & received an iced americano, one of the guys wanted 4 shots of espresso on ice I'm a 16 oz & they refused (and called management) and gave him some type of iced white chocolate drink. A big area I'd like to seem them improve is their $5 minimum purchase to use a card. We came to Joseph for a little COVID safe getaway (from Boise). We had a few friend recommended Arrowhead. We came downtown and walked the strip, and had to come and check it out. Honestly, Arrowhead was a little Gourmet chocolate/coffee shop that feels as Metropolitan as you can get (are we in Europe?!?) Beautiful decor, extremely authentic, cleaner than a hospital. Then the process....the ordering process was smooth, the presentation amazing, we placed our order (family of four - chai latte, espresso latte, and two pistachio scotch and sodas for the kiddos). The chocolate, top notch. Honestly some of the best little chocolates I have ever had. I got the orange cream truffle. Amazzzzzzing!!! . Small portion, but just felt like I was in a little french caffe Savoring this wonderful treat. My 8 Oz latte was almost like ordering at a cafe i Europe; it was amazing. Puts Starbucks or any coffee shop to shake. Epic!! Finally, our girls couldn't finish their pistachio scotch and sodas. My wife and I took a few sips...unbelievable. Soooooo good. I don't understand what's going on here, but there seems to be a black cloud hanging over the interior of this place. My fiance and I were excited to get some locally made chocolates so walked here from our airbnb. Right when we walked in, a dark-haired girl behind the chocolate counter made eye contact with us, and without a word of acknowledgment, walked off to the back of the shop never to return. I figured she was due for a break and that the two employs behind the coffee station would help. Welp, help never came. My fiance went off to the restroom while I perused all of the enticing truffle flavors, and then I waited. And waited. I kept staring at the two employees behind the coffee maker who were having a merry ol' time just chatting with one another. I started to think I was in the wrong place and began to look around but spotted two bold signs pointing to exactly where I was standing that read, "Order Here". Hmm, okay, I'm in the right spot, so why is nobody helping me? Five minutes go by and I'm awkwardly staring at the yapping employees who now seem like they are going out of their way to not make eye contact with me or notice my presence at all. Then, a couple comes in the front door and I decide to leave the chocolate counter and wait at a table for my fiance. The minute, no, the very SECOND that the couple stands in front of the chocolate stand, one of the girls who'd been chatting with the other dude employee behind the coffee machine stops talking and goes to take their order. What the heck?! I told my fiance that nobody wanted to help me so we needed to leave. What the heck is going on here? Is it because I was wearing a mask? Kind of a surprise to find this place in this unassuming little tourist town. Great service from some of the nicest people we've met locally, and some amazing chocolate. And coffee. And pastry. On my last trip through the area I went an hour out of my way just to get more of their whiskey filled chocolates... try them and you'll understand. This is a family-owned business which opened during Joseph's 2011 low season, also known as winter. Things are slowly heating up in this sweet little Eastern Oregon hamlet, and Arrowhead Chocolates may just blow the lid off of things. A friendly and gentle warning, dear Yelpers -- when you open the door to Arrowhead Chocolates (it opens in, away from you), watch your step. There's a slight lip in the entryway, and every single person I've watched walk into this place (including my sweet husband), has tripped over it. I'm sure they'll put up a sign pretty soon, but until they do, save your faceplant for their delicious treats instead of their floor. The shop itself is beautiful. Simple furniture, lots of light, great artwork, and some very cool light fixtures. You may watch the chocolate being covered right there in front of you by one of the incredibly good-looking employees (seriously... they're as beautiful as the chocolate). And then you'll turn to the cases --- rows and rows of handmade chocolates spread out before you, the angels sing, and everyone is smiling. Everything is separated into dark and milk, and no matter your preference you'll leave with a full bag o' goodness. Salted dark chocolate caramels make my eyes roll back in my head. However, some chocolatiers insist upon burning their caramel...perhaps they think it's chic to have that "distressed" taste in their creations. Sorry, but it makes me sad when I bite into what I think is going to be a little square of heaven, and taste.....burnt stuff. Arrowhead Chocolates gets it, HUZZAH! Their salted dark caramels are creamy, smooth, the chocolate is wonderful, and the perfect portion of salt creates that euphoric symphony in your mouth. Needless to say we bought several of these. Also try the hazelnut clusters -- they have sea salt on top, too, and it's a great touch. My husband loved the dark chocolate-covered peanut butter-white chocolate truffle. I understand that they're going for smooth and creamy here by adding white chocolate to the peanut butter, but this was not my favorite. My favorite turned out *not* to be in the display case, but on the beverage list. You absolutely MUST try Arrowhead's hot chocolate. It comes in 8, 12, or 16 ounce cups, and its base is your choice of milk or dark chocolate taken right from the swirling goodness in the coating machine. Another great touch: they hand you a compostable spoon covered with some of that chocolate for you to enjoy while you wait. To say this hot chocolate is amazing is to smack it in the face. It's creamy, chocolatey beyond words, and it goes down so freaking quickly, I almost slapped my cup on the counter and shouted, "Barkeep, another round!" A dollop of fresh whipped cream tickles your nose and makes you smile even more.... Go here. Take home a box or seven for your friends... and try not to dig in on the drive back. read more
