I got a large romaine salad with chicken. It was plain, but in a good way. I don't know what it is about Joseph and Enterprise, Oregon, but the size of their salads is about five times bigger than where I'm from, and I'm loving it. It was hard for me to finish because it was so big, and I am a big eater. The lettuce tasted very fresh, and the dressing tasted homemade. Regarding the service, the woman who greeted and served me was extremely polite. She checked on me often, filled my water every time it was down a couple of ounces, and seemed very kind. I would say the service was great. When it comes to the ambiance, this place is a trip. Honestly, I did a double take and walked in and out a couple of times because I wasn't sure it was a restaurant. I thought it was a pet shop. I honestly could not tell. To me, it was definitely quirky, but it fit the overall vibe of the town of Joseph. I really enjoyed watching all of the customers come in with their dogs. The dogs were so happy and immediately got treats. It was dog heaven, to be honest. It made me think about my dog, who is no longer with us, in kind of a sad way. At the same time, it made me want another dog. The next time I'm in Joseph, I'll definitely be stopping back by here to grab a bite.

From the moment we walked in, Michael asked the last name on the reservation and had memorized first when we told him. Vali's does one meal per evening, from 6pm-8pm and requires reservations. They have a menu that varies week to week, but that is always delicious! Tonight we enjoyed pork schnitzel, red cabbage, and au gratin potatoes! The pork schnitzel was perfectly tender with a crispy crust, the red cabbage cooked JUST right with a perfect amount of sweetness, and the au gratin potatoes were nice & cheesy!
