Fantastic pizza! Seriously, I crave it. And my guy, a native New Yorker and total pizza snob, was shocked by how much he loved it! (All I've heard from for years is how bad pizza is outside of NYC, but he goes nuts for this place - quite a complement!) Sure, it's not cheap like greasy, gross Domino's, but the quality is worlds above that. If you get take out, be sure to order the pizza "half-baked" so that you can bake it the rest of the way at home. This makes it taste soooo delicious. Last time I was in town we got two large gourmet pizzas and a Greek Salad - $38 for 3 meals for 3 people = pretty damn good. (Incidentally, the people there could not be nicer.) read more

I agree something has changed since the new owners took over. We've eaten there several times since then, but it isn't the same. The pizza seems to have more cheese! Too much. That is a lot for me to say that. I love cheese, but it somehow is too much, or not right. One reviewer mentioned they changed the cheese. Perhaps that's it. We have eaten here for years, but there are newer options in town that I like better now. Pappos for one. Jax and Gabe's for a NY style right ow the strip mall. We came with a HUGE group (50+ adults and children) while in town for a basketball tournament. The service was very friendly, and we met the owner, Jeff Spies, who spent some time with us. Now, the food...FANTASTIC! Holy mackerel! The garden salad with homemade ranch dressing was excellent, and the cheese bread...good grief! Nothing so simple should taste that good. Some of the best pizza I've ever had. I really like the Venus with gyro meat. When my brother comes to visit he almost always suggest we go here. I was in with a co-worker a few days ago and was disappointed. A small thing to start - I hate getting a salad that really doesn't fit in the serving bowl. Mine was like that and the contents start falling out of the bowl; please either get bigger bowls or don't fill salad bowl to overflowing. The bigger thing was that I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and it literally had only 4-5 pieces of pepperoni on the whole ten inch pizza. The flavor was good, love the crust, but it was mostly a cheese pizza. Good thing I like cheese pizza, but I ordered pepperoni. I will try other pizza places before returning here. read more

I ordered my first pizza from them today. It was fantastic, I love this place. This is my new go to place for pizza.

Full disclosure, this was my first time eating St Louis style pizza, and while I generally love pizza of all kinds (Thin crust! Deep dish! NY! Neapolitan!) - this "pizza" gets a big NOPE from me. The crust was dry and floury (think a cross between a saltine and burnt naan) and the sauce/"pizza cheese" (don't even get me started on the processed cheese on a pizza situation) combo had flavors reminiscent of anything attempting to be Italian served in elementary school lunches. I ate a piece while trying to talk myself into finding it edible but it just was not happening. While I'd normally call this a three star experience because hey, it's not their fault that I am not into the style of pizza they specialize in, it's going down to two because our server seemed completely ill equipped to handle the fact I was not digging the food. She came by to ask if we liked it - my dude was unsure, but still eating and I let her know it was not for me to which she just seemed shocked (I guess that doesn't happen often?). The correct response would have been an "oh no, can I grab you a menu to see about something else?" I pretty much had to ask her for a menu as she walked away. Seriously, get this girl some training because I just remembered, she was also totally unknowledgeable on the beer list. We just wanted food and to get going so I quickly ordered a chicken pita, which at least didn't take long to come out. It was ok- the pita bread was the soft, doughy kind you usually get at lower end Greek restaurants and it was filled mostly with veggies and a few pieces of chicken that were not very seasoned and a bit on the dry side. The tzatziki it came with was OK and definitely helped. It was edible, let's just say that. I walked into a work conversation today about how everyone loves this place so much, so I'm happy to know that there is something here I'm willing to eat when they inevitably order lunch in. read more

If Arris would have had an email on their web site or a "message business" option on yelp I would have written a private message instead of a review, but I really feel I should let the business know that it would be a good idea to not list sweet basil and a topping that one pays extra for when the basil being offered isn't actually fresh sweet basil leaves. What I received as a topping for the "sweet basil" was simply dried basil flakes. This isn't something one should pay for. Dried herbal toppings shouldn't be considered an "additional topping." read more

We hosted a family gathering at Arris Pizza on Republic Road. In the planning stage I talked with Jessica on multiple occasions. She was attentive to our needs and addressed each detail needed for the evening. The night of the party, we were served by Jordan and Randi. Every detail that we talked to Jessica about was carried out to perfection. Jordan and Randi were professional, attentive, and went above and beyond normal expectations to make the evening delightful. Here's the deal: It's NOT New York pizza. It's NOT Chicago pizza. It's not some $30 California pizza bistro or Wolfgang Puck nonsense. It's Arris' , in Springfield, MO - and it's pretty damn good. The best we've found yet in Springfield, to be sure. We had a medium, half House Special (sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, onions, peppers, hold the mushrooms) and half Hercules (meat lovers, basically). No one burped when we said we wanted 1/2-&-1/2, btw - it was "no problem!", unlike a number of places I've been to. The crust was thin and crisp, without being burned. The ingredients were plentiful. The large chunks of made-on-site Italian sausage were tasty, but there wasn't the incessant grease that is so typical of many pizza places. The cheese is a mixture of Mozzarella and Provel (we asked), which we both liked a lot. The ground beef was ground very fine, almost like you'd see in Greek hot-dog shops on the east coast. Every bite had a mixture of all the ingredients on it. (it's cut in squares, which automatically makes it taste better...) The cheesy-bread was soft, with the same cheese mix as the pizza, and we liked the dipping sauce - not screaming-tomato, but hearty. The bread was a little bland, and could have had some more seasoning on it, but it was just plain cheesy bread - not some gourmet item for $15. The cheese bread, medium 1/2-n-1/2, and a soda was $21.25 plus tip. Our lady treated us right. We left full to the brim - and we are two good-sized guys. We went there on a Thursday night, and the place was busy but not packed, and the service was very attentive - our water and Diet Coke glasses were rarely empty long. Arri's is hands down our favorite pizza in Springfiels. If you're a fan of pineapple, the Appolo will blow you away. The Greek salad is amazing as well. This is not the Pizza that I'm use to, but I'm growing to love it. Their Pizzas come on a thin crispy crusts, and they have a very wide unique selection. Arris is always a fantastic choice for fresh and unique pizza. Their bruscietta is better than anywhere else. There are many pizza choices that you can go wrong with. Heat of Zeus, Hen House, or the sweet and spicy one (don't recall its name). They also have great sandwiches. It is a bummer they don't take reservations but they are always busy so it's probably not nessessary from a business perspective. They have a decent beer selection from their bar next door. I remember Arris's Pizza being the place to go... The little hidden secret on the south side...The best pizza in town and you might get to see Brad and Angelina... I was a hundred percent disappointed. One, if you're going to post specials on social media, please know about them, honor them, and make sure the wait staff is familiar. Your guests should not have to bust out their phone and show you a post that's someone in your office made. Very basic social media practices here folks. I ordered the spinach dip appetizer because it was on special at half-price, and I either did not read the menu or it did not say clearly that it was a cold sour cream dip made with the Lipton soup packets. It was fully decorated, however, with alternating chunks of bread and packaged club crackers (still in the wrapper of course). My gyro was fine, piled with onions... Fairly traditional and nothing remarkable. I think I just had higher expectations because of my memories and Word of Mouth then what I actually experienced... Hopefully other folks enjoy it more than me. read more

To be fair i had not eaten at Arris Pizza for about 8 years. I always remembered their Gyro was delicious but that I hated the pizza for a number of reasons.. no flavor, no toppings, too thin.. just not good. Now older and hopefully wiser I can say after last nights House Special pizza, I am an apologetic and now huge fan. The crust while still thin allowed the delicious toppings to take charge. The ground meat and tasty cheese was a perfect match. So is it wrong to say we ate half the pizza in the car before we even got home. The Gyro continues to be an amazing sandwich that is worth the trip alone. Will I ever be the biggest fan of thin crust pizza.... no, but this is so good it just doesn't matter. read more

Their Pizza is pretty good. Had the Athena and the Pandora pizza. One had Bleu cheese and one had feta cheese. I was pleasantly surprised. Pizza House is still the best in town but this definitely comes second. Will come back but one critique is that the owner (man) is rude and snappy. We almost walked out because of this. Questioned us and acted like we were dumb for wanting to pick the table we say at. He needs to remember that we are PAYING customers and without paying customers he wouldn't have a business. I don't know if he is normally rude and a micromanager (noticed he was on his employees constantly... which no one likes and your turn around will be huge when you treat them that way) or if he was burnt out our having a bad day. I love this place. It's the kind of place that after you have it you'll eventually crave it! I read a few of the other reviews and tell you not to compare to other pizza places. It is pizza with a greek twist. The ingredients are top notch and maybe why you pay a little moire for their pie. If you are cheap you probably should goto Papa John's down the street. I always split a greek salad and a small pizza with the wife and that is more than enough for two unless you want to take a few slices to your hacienda. I'm beginning to think that Springfield is willing to settle for "less-than" pizza because the city has only offered "less-than" pizza. Limp pizza crust, coupled with little to no flavor and an exorbitant amount of cheese does not make for good pizza. read more

Pizza was mediocre, crust was semi burnt and wasn't really to taste. We had the Venus and the House Special(which is supposed to be like a supreme) neither tasted much different from the other. Not a lot of color or flavor from either. Moscato was good. Probably won't go again. read more

New owners have made changes taking it from a 5 star best in town to a 3 star. They have changed the House Special ingredients and the awesome finely ground cheese in the shakers at the table is now the same crap you get at Pizza Hut. The Arris franchise needs to step in an enforce the recipes that made them great. Hate to think I have to drive to Jeff City to get the real thing. Switching all my pizza business to Pizza House until the new owners start listening to the clients. read more
