overpriced and rude staff Went here with some coworkers after a long shift, figured we'd grab some pizza. Ordered 4 large pizzas to split between all of us -- ended up paying a ridiculous amount for what we got. The pizzas were paper-thin, barely any toppings. Since the food and value were so disappointing, we didn't leave a tip. As we were walking out, one of the male employees yelled across the store, "No tip? F*** off, don't ever come back." Completely unprofessional and uncalled for. We came in as paying customers and left feeling disrespected over something that should've just been a normal business interaction. Came here after visiting the C-Street farmer's market and exploring the other C-street stores and its apparently the corner stone of the reemerging C-Street. A local Route 66 relic from 1958, Pizza House has been a Springfield pizza favorite for decades and for good reason. Family-centric with lots of nostalgic memorabilia, this fun spot is a lot of what you look for in a Mid-West pizzeria, starting with their friendly staff. Quick to get out of the movie-theatre waiting seats to a table, they take no time at all to get your drinks and order. The deluxe salad was fresh and the house Italian dressing was great, and they do not hold back on the salad portion! One plate was enough for two of us! We also got a deluxe and cheese pizza that came out fresh from the oven. The cheese pizza was great and the deluxe had all of the fixings and still tasted fresh. All of their pizzas are the thin crust variety with little sauce, so if you're looking for the more mainstream pizza, this is not the place you're looking for. But a lighter, flakier crust that doesn't make you feel like you ate a loaf of bread is what you'll find here. We stopped in last weekend and had lunch while visiting the farmers market. The lunch special for 2 with the pizza and salads is what we ordered. The salads were very simple and there is an up charge for cheese but the lettuce was fresh and the poppyseed dressing was so good. The pizza we ordered was a basic pepperoni but it was so good it didn't last long on the table! I forgot to snap a picture because we dug in so fast. We found this hidden gem driving through Commercial and decided to turn around and find a place to park to give the pizza a try! I'm so glad we did!!! Amanda was great she gives us the scoop on the menu and served us well the whole time in the establishment! for my first time going to a local food spot in missouri, came to this pizza place with a group of friends after work service was good, food wasn't much filling but service lady was nice after we paid and left, a white male employee walked out the door after us and yelled at us all "no tip!?!? I ate here with my wife and in laws one night when we were traveling through Springfield. I was in the mood for Pizza but didn't want a chain restaurant. I looked this place up and it sounded good so we gave it a go. The pizza is incredibly thin. I've never had pizza as thin as this. This isn't a negative, it's just something I wasn't expecting. It tasted great. The service was good and it's a neat place. Lots of things to look at. Very eclectic decor. I will definitely eat here again if I'm in the area. I'm giving 4 stars only because the Pizza is so thin I don't feel the value is quite what it should be. This is without a doubt the best super thin pizza we've ever had. Was in town visiting family and was reminded of this pizza staple, "rolling since 1958" on Commercial Street. Went for lunch, had a little wait but were seated in a king size booth for the four of us. Guess they knew we needed more elbow room "Stacy," the long timer with the Pizza House, properly 'abused' us, all in good fun (maybe because I had my son's Texas A& M shirt on.) Anyhoo we had the lunch special and chowed down on salad and the best pepperoni, mushroom and pizza we'd had in years. Asia was our server and she was quick, friendly and kept us taken care of with a smile and without writing anything down. This is definitely a repeater every time we're back in Springfield. I was driving by and liked the look of the place, it was lunchtime so stopped in for their lunch special. I read it was a 9" single topping and drink for $9.25 Was greeted right away by pizza cooks, order was taken by young guy, I noted I was charged additional $2ish for my soda making special not $12ish. I said I thought drink was included and he just stared at me. I sat there waiting for my pepperoni pizza listening to the banter of the cooks, the place had a nice feel to it, was warm inside. Manager sat at counter gobbling her lunch. Pizza came out after around 10 minutes, took it to the car and took a peek, this is super thin crust, burnt a bit, cut into squares, tasted ok. I grew up eating their pizza at their original location in the corner of a small strip center at Bennett & Glenstone. Their thin crust, tasty pizza was unique in town, way ahead of it's time. By cutting it in squares, it was much easier to eat - especially with it's softer center. Their current location on Commercial St is a far nicer environment with more room and far less smoky than the original. The service is good, a tad better than it used to be. This is really good pizza - not necessarily the most creative combo's of ingredients but the classics prepared with care. It is oft copied but still stands the test of time after it's copy cats came & went. A good pie at a good price. Pizza House is an old Springfield go-to classic. read more

Pizza is good (not the best I've had but good), service was outstanding. My only complaint was with the angry mob of people at the door waiting to be seated. Holy crap! My husband and I were facing the door from our seats, and the people in the crowd stared us down the entire time we were eating. One woman looked at us like she wanted to literally punch us in the face. We tried to hurry and get out of there as fast as we could. The couple we went with have been there many times and love it, but they always sit with their back to the crowd. They didn't tell us why lol until I mentioned the insane stare downs I was seeing. When we go again, and we will try it again, we will not be facing the angry mob. I would highly suggest you have your backs to them. It's very disconcerting.
