The office/scheduling person I talked to wouldn't give me any sort of timeframe ("sometime between 9am and 5pm"). Seriously? We agreed on a price to pump the tank, and a $150/hour "digging fee" since it was winter. I agreed. The technician arrived around noon the next day (all other septic companies I've dealt with send two people). Technician refused to dig, pretty much ignored a survey that showed the approximate location of the tank (within 2-3 feet). He have a few half-hearted pokes into the ground, claimed my system was not "up to code" (it IS up to code). Tried to upsell me on getting some machinery to excavate. So he basically refused to do the work agree on, and wasted most of my day since I had to stay home, and left without pumping my tank. I called Mike's Septic in Norwalk and they showed up on time (gave me a "morning" time window, which was great), located the tank without issue (the hatch was only buried a few inches under ground level). They did NOT charge me a digging fee, cost $50 less that Stright/Wind River for the pumping, and did a quick snake of the line from my house to the tank - great service.

We're…read moreplanning on selling our house in Patchogue, and realized we hadn't serviced our cesspool the entire time I've owned the house, over 10 years (I know, I know, bad homeowner!). Plus we had just had a small sinkhole open up in our backyard which we thought might be related. So we asked our neighbors who had had some work done in the last year or so, and they highly recommended ClearRiver Environmental. The only negative, I would say, was that the scheduling was a little vague. They said "We might be able to fit you in sometime this weekend. We'll call you later with a two-hour window, and then give you another call when the crew is 30min away." No call ever came, so I placed another call to follow up later in the week. They were able to give a definite date and time window during that call, so we were all good. Brian and Hector came at the scheduled time. They were polite, knowledgeable, and got right to work. We had an unusual problem which took some time to get to the bottom of, but they were diligent in their investigation and wouldn't leave until they'd gotten to the bottom of it. Our heads were spinning a little with the possibility of having to replace our whole system to the tune of a few thousand dollars, but it turned out that all we needed was a patch where the pre-fab cesspool had ruptured. They couldn't do the job right then and there, which was understandable because they weren't really equipped for that service, but got us all scheduled for an estimate on the spot. The very reasonable fee they charged for coming out and diagnosing the problem is going to come off of the cost of the patch job, so it was basically a free visit, which is extremely generous. THEN, later the very same day, our cesspool started overflowing. We got right back on the phone with them. Paula helped us schedule an emergency visit for the very next day. John came out, even though it was Father's Day, and it was his first as a new father :). And just like Brian and Hector, he was extremely polite, professional, and wouldn't leave until the problem was solved. We again found that the solution was simpler than the dreaded full system replacement, and this time, they didn't charge us at all. Extremely generous. Great company. They assured me their service came with a one-year warranty. However, the relief was short-lived. Within a few months, the cesspool overflowed again. When I contacted them, they returned and poured acid into the tank, which lasted a few months. When they returned within the 1 year warranty period, they wanted to charge me for additional services. I refused to do any more business with a company that does not honor its warranty. They prioritize quick fixes over long-term solutions. If they pumped the cesspool in the first place, it would have lasted much longer. I strongly advise against using their services. You'll likely end up paying for a temporary fix and dealing with their unprofessionalism when things inevitably go wrong.

Ray initially stated that he would send the invoice over via email or text message once the work was completed. He did not. When he and I spoke telephonically multiple times two weeks later, he was once again sending the invoice over where he then stated he was on the way to a job sight and then once again when he stated he was at another job sight. Ray reiterated he would be sending it immediately when he was done with the job he was working on and once again no invoice. Two weeks later. I am not understanding why. Now when I've tried to call it appears that all numbers listed on your web site are all 'unavailable'.
