Had a relatively simple line unclog job on Saturday. They arrived within 2 hours. I had already removed the waste line covers so all they needed to do was snake the line which took a total of 15 minutes. It took longer to write the invoice and charged me $400. They made a terrible mess just bringing in the snake, tracking septic muck on our carpets and stairs. Then they left without installing the trap covers. Cesspool pros were contacted to help identify what was wrong with our system. After the representative came and ran a camera "through our system" and reported that the camera only went 20 feet and that there was a crack in our pipe to the cesspool which we were told was 20 feet from the house. We were told that the cracked pipe needed to be dug up and we would need a new system. Needless to say, after a second opinion with another company, there was no crack in the pipe, the cesspool was over 75 feet from the house and just needed to be pumped. After calling the owner to let him know that we would not be using them for a new system because everything we were told by his technician who came out, he acted shocked and dismayed that something this incorrect could have happened and told us that the gentleman that had use the camera in our system would be back the next day with the refund of our down payment for the system we didn't need. More than 2 weeks later, we needed to call the office after not hearing from anyone. When it was all said and done, he only gave back half of the deposit and charged us for an incorrectly diagnosed visit and scope of 20% of my system. Needless to say it seems as though the company must be really hard up for money and will do anything to get it. Tried to scam us into a new system and when they were called out on their mistakes and improper review of our system, still kept part of the money taken for a service we didn't need. The remaining money won't make or break us, but proceed with caution if attempting to use this company. The only reason we used this company is because they were recommended by a friend. The owner, Joe came out and personally installed a new line w/clean out, septic and overflow tanks. He and his crew were so respectful our property: fence, shed, shrubs (he even tied back my beloved fig tree!) while having to dig up half our yard within tight spaces. Afterwards, they graded and raked the soil. Joe was such a nice guy, easy to talk to- he explained every step of this unexpected & daunting project and made me feel at ease. On today's visit they arrived a half day after they said they would, and we got the run around from the company and the kid driving. As repeat customers who have spent thousands of dollars (unnecessarily if you ask me) I found them highly unprofessional when an issue arose. After spending $3,000 today our cesspool backed up a couple hours after they left after doing a load of laundry. This was after they claimed they drained all 3 tanks. My downstairs area flooded. We called and I do admit they responded quickly. The service manager came out in less than 30 minutes and discovered a clog that should have been addressed earlier in the day. After speaking with the owner Billy, I was left disappointed by the lack of unprofessionalism. He claimed he fixed our issue. If the issue was fixed, it wouldn't have back up. I was told that he will be here tomorrow to "rip out" the work that they did today. I requested a refund (wasn't expecting it all to be refunded but was expecting something to be done). Mo was extremely informative, explained everything to us and described what needed to be done and how it was going to be done. The cost was very reasonable and Billy and his guys showed up on the agreed upon day despite the fact that it was raining all day. I'm so regret that I didn't listen to those 1 star review now! You have to read this! 1. They first came and said they have to locate my cesspool first. It's $275 for locating but if we hire them to do the service, its $1500 including locating, raise up, cleaning and everything needed for 1 pool and $2500 for 2 pools. Of course the $275 will be credited as deposit as he promised. The guy then started to locate my cesspool and said the 1st pool is half under my driveway and half under the grass so he needed a machine to dig a hole and raise it up so he would need to come another day. 2. That guy said the soonest he can come was Monday but on Sunday I called them and they said the soonest they can come is Wednesday but they will try for Tuesday. I can't wait that long because the cesspool is completely full and I can't use any water in my house. So I called the other company who quoted me $1400 and $2200 who can come on Tuesday. Then on Tuesday morning, CesspoolPro called me and said they are most likely able to come today. I rejected her at the beginning since I already scheduled with another company. But then I feel sorry for them so at the end I called back and asked them to come and cancelled the other appointment. I also asked her if she can match $1400/$2200 for EVERYTHING and she said yes. 3. When the owner came, he started to dig a hole where the guy thought the cesspool was. But later on the owner found that the cesspool was actually NOT there! Wherever he dig the hole, there was only pipes and he actually broke the pipes. But he promised he would fix it which I had no problem with. It turned out that the cesspool was actually under the grass only. 4. When I saw the cesspool, I don't see it down that deep so I personally don't think it needed to be raised up. Anyway I'm not professional so I just assume that he's doing a right job and not overcharging me. 5. I forgot that I already paid $275 on the first day so I gave him another $1400 on the second day because he only serviced one pool. 6. I found that when he dig the hole, he also broke my wiring that connects to my detach garage because now my garage is completely out of electricity. If he located my cesspool correctly at the beginning, I don't think he would have broken the wiring. That was the whole story before today. Now I called and said oh I already gave you $275 as deposit but the lady said the 1st invoice didn't say the $275 is deposit and there is no way that she would do $1400 for everything for 1 pool. And they're not responsible for the broken wiring. To me, they are overcharging me $275 which they originally quoted me $1500 and agreed to match $1400 but now it becomes $1675 in total. And the $275 locating fee actually located a WRONG place which resulted in breaking my underground wiring. One more thing, the owner also recommended me to replace a new cesspool but I rejected right away because it's still functioning and I'm planning to sell my house anyway. (Many other reviews also mentioned that they like to recommend people installing a new cesspool) So please think through it before you decide to hire this company. If you only need them to pump the cesspool, there will probably be no problem but once they tell you that they need additional service, be extra careful if you don't want to be regret like me now!! The lady said I should talk to the owner directly and I thought she would give me the owner's phone number but then she hang up on me. The owner never called back. Didn't see that the road would require reinforcements to put the cesspool in. Cesspool was backed up after never pumping it since I moved into my house in 2006. Toilets wouldn't flush(water wouldn't go down and lower level shower had water coming up so I knew it was finally time after having like 18 people over. Gave me an estimate over the phone to pump, aerate and put chemicals. The guy came with in 2 hours (maybe less) found the cesspool cover in a few minutes , broke through and did what he had to do. Then he added a PVC pipe for easier access in the future. The only thing is the cap for the pipe wasn't carried at Lowe's or Home Depot, but I was able to get it at local plumbing store for $5.00. It was a bit of an interactive experience, as he needed help with some stuff, but he was a nice guy It appeared that cesspool was drained, clog was fixed and toilets flushing well. My old cinder block cesspool was full and I wanted to replace it with a new one because I wasn't comfortable with the risk of collapse, especially since my kids play in the yard. The team arrived on our scheduled date to begin (excavator, flat bed with new cesspool and crew all showed up). As we were planning where the new system would go, I explained we're planning a home extension. Cesspool Pros told me I should wait until my new plans are approved by the town because it might trigger an upgrade to a Innovative / Alternative Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (I/A OWTS) per the Suffolk County Clean Water Act. The crew was honest and told me without approved permits, I have a risk the new cast concrete cesspool would need to be upgraded and they didn't want to see that happen. The Cesspool Pros crew went home that day and I had my old block pool pumped to hold us over until permits were granted......... Fast forward 1 year and my plans were finally approved by the town. I called Cesspool pros and we re-scheduled the job. Even though a year passed, they honored the April 2022 quote. They arrived again, on schedule, and replaced my cesspool. Called on a Saturday with a backed up drain. They sent someone out within 2 hours who quickly found the problem and cleared the drain. We also had a very old (60 years) cesspool system, so he took a look at it and recommended a replacement and gave an estimate on the spot. We had two other companies come out and both also recommended replacement as our old tank was in danger of collapsing. We hired Cesspool pros because their price was fair and they spent the most time planning the best placement for our new cesspools. (house is a large ranch on a large property with multiple drains) They were able to schedule the job within a few days and completed the work very quickly (even working through the weekend due to some rain delays.) They were extremely careful routing their digging machines to cause the least possible amount of damage to the surrounding property, and did a wonderful job regrading the area after the cesspools were installed. Additionally, they took a lot of time to dig by hand to make sure they wouldn't hit any of our cable and internet lines, (which are not marked out by the town.) Very professional and courteous. Unfortunately couldn't find the access point, but with the camera were able to see the damage in main line by tree roots. Will need a new septic system. I would go with this company again and again. Had major issues. 4 other companies came by, poke around, talked crazy money and long process, some just walked away, not wanting to deal with our mess. Cesspool pros guys came on Wed, gave a good price and promised to put a new cesspool, change old pipe, and connect new pool to existing overflow in one day. My husband didn't believe them. One day work? No way! Our town is a pain in a butt to get any kind of building or remodeling permits. By Tuesday all permits were received, their paperwork were excellent. The lady in the office called me a few times, confirming dates, letting me know about the permits. I didn't have to chase them! Thursday morning crew came at 7.30 am even though officially they can't start before 8am. They end up doing more work than planned (removing additional stairs, finding old cesspool (not the one we were replacing, thought that one had collapsed long time ago), emptying it , connecting to new, fixing overflow... ALL IN ONE DAY work. All additional work and materials they were able to use right away shows they came prepared for surprises, brought so many trucks full of materials! A pipe in my basement was leaking water, I called my plumber who unclogged the trap and suggested I check with a cesspool company to ensure my cesspools were not overflowing. I called Cesspool Pros and spoke to Josie who said she could send someone to my home the following day, she said they treat their customers like family and with the same level of courtesy and professionalism that she would want for herself and her family. She went on to say that she is also a consumer and doesn't like when people provide poor customer service BLAH BLAH, BLAH. It sounded nice while she was saying this but the actions of this company did NOT match her words. The following day a very nice young man by the name of Mo came to our home and explained very clearly and concisely what our options were. He spent a good amount of time educating us on maintenance and risks of an old Block style cesspool versus having a new system installed. We decided to have the cesspool serviced this time around but we understood from Mo's assessment that we would need to replace the cesspools in the near future. Mo checked the pipes in the basement and gave us a quote on installing a new system. Had everything from this point forward gone right, I would be scheduling a new cesspool system with this company 100%! However this experience took a negative turn. Mo said he would aureate the cesspool and later that same day, a coworker, Stacie would come and pump out our cesspool. I decided to pay Mo the full amount of the bill plus a 25.00 tip for his professionalism. It was now 7pm and still NO Stacie so I called and spoke to Josie who said they had a collapsed cesspool emergency and were unable to come to our home. Josie profusely apologized and said they would arrive the following day at 11am. I waited ALL DAY, no one called and no one came...so I thought. I finally called that evening to find out what happened and spoke to someone by the name of Joanne (i think this was her name). She proceeded to tell me they actually were at our home but very early in the morning. No one called, no one rang the door bell, no one left a card. So I have to trust they came and did the job with NO way of confirming it but on the company's word! How crazy is this. I paid over $400 and never saw the workers do the work so I have to accept that it was done???? Joanne said and I quote "to make you feel more comfortable that the work was done" she would have Stacy come by the following day and show me the cesspool levels and explain what he did etc. The next day in the evening I receive a call from a serviceman ( I don't think it was Stacie). He asked me why he needs to stop at my home. I explained to him I needed to see that the work was done and speak to him about how much was pumped out, what chemicals were added, etc. He sighed and said "Well that's not going to happen, next time use another company, there's many others out there, we don't need this" I was shocked! I said to him "how would you like it if you prepaid for a service and waited all day for the technician only to find out the work was supposedly done while you were sleeping, and no one saw it being done?" Joanne had the audacity to say "well if in a few months your cesspool overflows then it wasn't serviced but if its fine then this will confirm that we did the job" What the heck? I have to wait to have a problem to know if they actually did the work??? How ridiculous and unprofessional can she be? OMG my grand daughter would respond with a more intelligent answer than this! After much back and forth with the serviceman (who by the way was at a job only a few blocks away) did finally agree to stop by to show us the pumped cesspool. What an ordeal! This company dropped the ball 100% they lost a full cesspool install which they had in the palm of their hands thanks to Mo's professionalism. I was not at all happy with this company. I thought I was calling one of the multiple Antorinos near Huntington, and somehow got these guys, which was odd. One young man came and told me pumping the cesspool would be about $1,300, and I was fine with that. Somehow, when another guy showed up, the price doubled to $2,595.28, and I was told that a "collar" had to be replaced. They were in my yard less than two hours; I had just returned from rehab and was on crutches, and in one of these emergencies, the homeowner is at a disadvantage because the work needs to be done right away. The first time I used them was back in 2011 when I was having a panic attack because my basement was flooding and it was 9p.m. I was given the number to call by a close friend who told me that the owner is really cool he may be able to fit you in first thing in the a.m. That night I was so grateful as Billy personally came himself even though he was home and done with his day.
