Just might be the best coffee in Seattle! Was in town for the weekend and was in search of a caffeine pick me up when I stumbled across this gem. They specialize in Vietnamese style coffee and they do it perfectly. The hojicha and egg coffee were my favorites
This was probably my favorite drink spot in Seattle. The space is beautiful, very large, and had plenty of seating. Everything on the menu looked delicious. The pandan matcha was very good and not overtly sweet. It was a perfectly balanced drink. We honestly drank it in record time. I would highly suggest this to anyone in the area!
Genuinely one of the worst matchas I've had and cannot wrap my head around why this was rated one of the top 3 matcha spots in Seattle on Beli (not sure how they accurately rank a cafe known for their coffee vs matcha). I hope this review deters many people away hoping to get a decent matcha here so I can save you the hassle of trying to find parking just to pay $9 for this sad excuse of a drink. We ordered their regular matcha latte and banana matcha latte both with oat milk. Right off the bat just looking at the top I knew it wasn't going to be good. Sometimes color can be deceiving so I still had some hope but the amount of foam that was sitting on the top wasn't helping its case. The matcha was powdery and tasted extremely presweetened, I would liken it to the old starbucks matcha before their recent upgrade. The banana matcha was not any better, it tasted super artificial and like a kid was bored and decided to mix a melted leftover matcha drink and banana milk. No, I did not just go on a bad day, I've been to enough shops to know the difference between purely bad technique and just straight up bad matcha. I heard the owners have changed recently so maybe that has something to do with it but the amount of cafes trying to hop on the matcha trend just to serve half attempted concoctions like this is really not it.
Love supporting Vietnamese-owned small businesses! Aroom (derived from the Vietnamese words to eat and drink) is solidifying itself in the Seattle Coffee scene. With gorgeous branding and beyond beautiful shop interiors, it's in everyone's bookmarked places to try! We got their Caphe Sua and Galaxy Drink. Their coffee is STRONG. The Caphe Sua featured condensed Milk and traditional phin brewed Vietnamese coffee. A Viet coffee done right, but beware if you're sensitive to caffeine. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Drink wasn't our favorite. It's made of butterfly pea and soda and looked like a sparkly magic potion, but tasted vaguely of pickle juice... Would go with something else next time!
My husband found this place on Yelp when I told him I wanted a coffee delivery after his Saturday morning workout, not knowing that this spot is apparently having a TikTok moment. If I'm being completely honest, I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised that both our drinks were very delicious. He opted for the black sesame drink and an egg coffee for me. My brother in law had the banana one and he also thoroughly enjoyed his. Dare I say the egg coffee was comparable to some that I've tried during my visit to Vietnam. We're only visiting for the weekend, but now we know where to go the next time we visit Seattle.
The two seasonal drinks I had were great. I was really surprised on how fast these drinks came out, especially with how packed the place was. The drinks I had were the yogurt coffee and the coconut longan matcha. The coconut was great as you can definitely taste the ingredients. The yogurt coffee was surprisingly good.
After seeing the online hype, I was set on trying Aroom while in Seattle. The morning we departed we walked over, waited in line, and probably an additional 10 minutes for our two drinks to be made. Unfortunately I was given the wrong drink and it was too late to go back and exchange because we had the ferry to catch. I ordered the an iced pandan latte and believe I was given the egg. Coffee was sweet and strong, but not the drink I was looking for.
Aroom Coffee has a very cute, aesthetic vibe, and I can see why it blew up on TikTok and Instagram. That said, the social media buzz has definitely changed the experience. When we went, there was a line out the door, every seat was taken, and the whole place felt very crowded. It's the kind of coffee shop I probably would have enjoyed a lot more if I had randomly stumbled upon it before it became so popular. To be fair, I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I like my coffee on the sweeter side and I'm honestly happy with places like Mercurys or Starbucks, so I may not be the target audience here. The coffee tasted fine, but it wasn't something I'd personally crave or go out of my way for. Overall, I thought Aroom was cute but average, and a bit expensive for what it was.
It was difficult to find street parking, we had to park a few blocks down in a nearby neighborhood. I got their pandan coffee and it was good but so strong!!! The pandan cream definitely helped sweeten the drink up though.
The Pandan Latte was 10/10. The barista was knowledgeable and helped me decide between it and the black sesame latter. The pandan only comes iced which is fine. The coconut base and pandan flavor really come through. The latte was strong and sweet. A decent place to bring your laptop to work if you can find a table. Most seats were occupied on a weekday morning.
This place is honestly such a treat. I got the salty coffee and it was delicious and I would consider it a better dessert than going to an actual dessert shop. I think the saltiness really brought out a lot of flavor and it was so incredibly creamy. But don't get me wrong, I definitely felt some of the caffeine as well! The place has nice ambiance and lighting as well. It makes it pretty easy to just sit down and catch up with friends. I would definitely recommend this place as a unique drink and dessert shop.
I really enjoyed the "salty coffee" drink from Aroom while I was in Seattle recently. I had never had Vietnamese coffee, so I was excited to try something a little different than what I'm used to. Definitely the best latte I had while in Seattle because it was unique and had great flavor. Unfortunately I did not try any food, but I did sit inside for a bit and enjoy the clean, modern atmosphere. It was not busy and I got my coffee in a timely manner. This spot is also really close to the water, so it's a great stop if you are walking by the piers, shops, etc. in the downtown area.

Very simple decor. Pleasant music playing overhead. Very kind people greeting you to ask what you would like to drink. Aroom is a very pleasant experience from start to finish. I tried the sesame latte that was perfect! Loved the sesame foam that tops the drink. I want to try the pandan latte next. I wish i lived in state to try their whole menu! Love seeing small businesses like this thrive and do service well! read more
This place is by far the best/delicious coffee place in Seattle (with a twist of )! I would return to this place every time I visit Seattle. We tried coconut, sesame, sesame matcha, and egg coffee; they all taste amazing but we love "Sesame Latte" THE BEST I wished they could open more shops in NY or Philly so I could get them more often! Servers were very nice and polite. We also really loved their interior with a modten/woody vibe in the cafe, such a great place to take pictures with anything! I love the pandan matcha here! But also I love everything pandan flavored. The banana matcha is nice as well, but it is a bit strongly banana flavored. Overall, their matcha is very creamy, which I like, though my friends think it's not very strong if that's something you prefer. This cafe also has a very nice calming atmosphere to it. read more

I really hate that they don't have a menu displayed anywhere expect for outside and at the register. Basically no one can decide until they stand up there at the cashier which is so inefficient!! Even if one person is in front of you, it will still take long because of this. Coffee shops are supposed to be quick! I do like the drinks here but they are on the sweeter side. I tried the pork floss/pate sandwich which was interesting. I can't say it was bad, but it also wasn't good? I was taken back by the texture because it is not bread but more like a pancake. Street parking. Service is meh. But I like the drinks. read more

Small cafe with modern decor and unique offerings. I tried the sesame latte which was great. The cream was smooth, thick, and flavorful, but it did overpower the coffee as there wasn't much of it. I'd like to try a larger size drink or some of their other drinks as well. read more

Truly loved this place. My husband found it and we had the best Vietnamese coffee - it's a fast/casual coffee place, many people coming & going, I saw many matcha drinks that I can only imagine were great. But 10/10 the Vietnamese coffee if you need something to PEP you up! read more

This is one of my go-to spots for matcha! I cycle between the pandan and gloomy matcha depending on the mood I'm in and I love the creaminess and balance of sweetness. My partner really enjoys the Saigon brown. Service is impeccable, the baristas are very organized and super helpful. They have a policy where they will happily fix any issue with drinks which is nice because it eliminate the anxiety that can be associated with bringing up an issue. This isn't my favorite place to sit in because there's limited seating, it's usually really busy, they only have to-go cups, and it's a little too bright for my personal taste. Wow these drinks were so good!!! I'm from SoCal where there are a lot of good Vietnamese coffee options, so I didn't have high expectations for the coffee in Seattle but this place was great! It reminds me of a place in OC I like. I was so happy with our drinks! We got the bac siu which is like a sweeter, lighter Vietnamese coffee, and also the Vietnamese coffee with salted cream on top. I still dream about the sesame latte!! Truly a beverage crafted to perfection, it had the perfect balance of creaminess and nuttiness with the phin dripped coffee, so good! The location is very aesthetic and beautiful on the inside, the staff was also very nice and helpful and even offered recommendations and explanations of all the drinks. If you're looking for great Vietnamese coffee in Seattle, don't pass this place up. read more

Incredible Vietnamese coffee that they serve here! I got their Banana Coffee which consist of Nutella cream and banana. I didn't taste the flavor of banana at all, just the two pieces of it when I ate it. The drink was pretty good and sweet. I'd definitely get this drink again. I also got their house cake which was okay to me. Just a nice small snack to eat. The ambiance is great. The restaurant is nicely organized and structured. There's plenty of seating and it's a great place to get some work done. The service was good. The drinks were made quickly and the food didn't take long to make. The pricing seems fair. This coffee spot was on my cousin's list to try so we decided to go before going to the Fremont troll. They have unique flavors such as the sesame latte, avocado coffee, Logan lotus tea just to name a few. I was debating to get either the sesame or the avocado coffee. I ended up going with sesame latte. I took the first sip and it was just okay. Didn't taste too different from any other coffee I've had. My cousin got the egg coffee. I tried it and it was just ok. I've had better egg coffee at other coffee shops. This place is walking distance from Fremont troll so it's perfect way to get coffee for the short walk. read more

My best friend lives in Seattle and I love visiting her. When I left to go back home I told her the one place I want to make sure we go back to next time was Aroom. My iced matcha latte with sesame cream was so incredibly tasty and different that I already miss it! It was the perfect blend of herby and sweet without being too much of either. A cute, small local Vietnamese inspired coffee shop run by a 26 year old dreamer/business owner and her fam+friends. She brings a dynamic menu with Vietnamese inspired flavors. One of my favorites being pandan! I will say I didn't get the pandan coming through in my matcha as much as I would have liked but the authentic tea flavor is crucial for me and checked the box. The banana matcha was perfectly sweetened, not too much, and also still kept that authentic tea taste. They thankfully have non dairy options! There are also some small bites you can get. The space gets crowded fast being in a busier area, but it's not too loud, it's clean, they're friendly and provide fast and efficient service. They use a buzzer system which they distribute after you put in your order. When it buzzes, retrieve your order from the counter There's a minimalistic, modern contemporary ambiance and lots of bright light from the big windows. I also appreciated the few pieces of art in there! Great for a quick pick me up, a solo date, or to slow down and take in a moment for yourself. Low tables and not a lot of outlets to where I'd suggest setting yourself up for work or a study sesh. read more

I wasn't expecting the banana matcha to be so smooth and enjoyable -- it was surprisingly impressive. Honestly, it's on the same level as the fried buns from Bellwether. We've been to Aroom a few times now and the standout highlight is the Gloomy Matcha, a matcha latte with a black sesame cream which is super unique and not too sweet, unlike a lot of the coffee drinks. A lot of reviews indicate that the condensed coffees are too sweet which I would agree with, have tried both the Egg Coffee and Bacsiu. The uniqueness of the drinks though make it worth the visit and would recommend. read more

This fine establishment is the #1 coffee shop I recommend to any coffee/caffeine drink lover when visiting North Seattle. It is a cant miss. 5/5 Drinks, I would recommend the Black Sesame Matcha (Gloomy Matcha), the black sesame foam compliments the matcha and the matcha itself stays true to its flavor. A true lover of matcha loves the balance of bitterness and sweetness. Other recommendations would be the Salty coffee and Egg coffee. 5/5 Atmosphere, modern take on design and very clean. 3/5 In terms of seating availability, 1 bathroom, small building but I have had no problem finding seats in my experiences. read more

YOU MUST GET THE BLACK SESAME COFFEE! I can't emphasize on how good this place is for Vietnamese coffee. I'm a girly who likes strong coffee so this place definitely check it off. You know how coffee usually makes you feel jiggly but energetic, this Aroom definitely does that with their coffee. But if you ain't too much for a coffee person, then you should try the matcha and black sesame combo. The light flavor of the matcha and the nutty flavor of the black sesame makes your taste buds dance a little hehehe. The ambiance is perfect for a morning coffee run and a nice study place. Aroom is undoubtedly my favorite viet coffee shop in Seattle! I've been here many times and tried a variety of drinks on their menu. My favorite drinks here are the gloomy matcha, salty coffee, and egg coffee. Their drinks are creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Although there is always a line, it goes by surprisingly quickly. Aroom also hosts various local business pop-up events here. I've been to a basque cheesecake as well as a cookie pop-up sale here, both of which are great. I really like this place and I'm so glad we have it in seattle! read more
This coffee shop was so cute there was a line outside the shop so you know it's good. My friends and I were able to order online which I highly recommend to skip the line. Even on a busy weekend there was a lot of seating and lots of fun decor. The bathroom was clean and had a plant to lighten up the space. The coffee itself was amazing I highly recommend and would definitely come back. The highlight was the sesame cold foam it pared well with a latte and was not too sweat. Aroom is a great place if you want a coffee/dessert like experience. These drinks make you slow don't and enjoy every little taste. I loved the salty coffee. I'm a sucker for that sweet and salt mashup and this coffee slaps. Service is quick and friendly. There is street parking but along a busy road. The style of the store is clean, white, and minimalistic. There are a couple table to work at if you need to. I took off one star because I asked for light ice and literally half my drink was filled with ice. When I am paying a premium for a drink, I don't want to get half as much and pay for expensive ice. read more
Came for a little refresher on a sunny afternoon. It was pretty packed - all the tables were taken, both by groups chatting and working/studying. I had the guava green tea and my friend got the sesame latte. The guava green tea was super refreshing and the perfect amount of sweet. The sesame latte was really good as well, and that's coming from someone who doesn't like coffee! Overall, a really cute cafe. The interior aesthetic is clean and tidy. It could get a bit loud, so would definitely wear noise cancelling headphones if I wanted to work/study here. Would come again!! read more

2nd time visiting. Got the sesame latte. The sesame cream is great! And this with the coffee and condense milk is tasty. I don't drink coffee much, so this got me wired. Stayed to do some work and got lucky that a table was open. Both times I've come here on a weekend they've always been busy. There's only few tables available. It can get pretty loud with people chatting. The music they play is great; pop ish mostly. read more

Hands down the cutest cafe in the Fremont area!! I randomly found this place on a walk last year and now I HAVE to have their black sesame latte at least once a week I've been meaning to try some other drinks on their menu but their sesame latte has me on a chokehold. I tell all my friends about this place and I need to be an ambassador at this point I recently brought my boyfriend who ONLY drinks black coffee and doesn't like sweets and even he approved of the black sesame latte 10/10 recommend!! The sesame latte at Aroom is magical! I am a big fan of this drink with its nutty sesame foam and Vietnamese latte combo which is pleasing to my palate and leaving me wanting more. The other drinks that I've tried here including matcha latte and gloomy matcha are a big hit for me as well since they also do matcha drinks well! Overall drinks here are consistent and always a joy to drink. I love bringing friends here for a quick chat and coffee break! Also it's a very hip and cool vibe in this cafe. Aroom is one of my favorite cafes in all of Seattle, and is where I tell people to come when they want coffee recommendations!! I have successfully introduced Aroom to four friends and they have all LOVED it. I swear, there is not a single bad thing on the menu! I have tried the peach macchiato, salty coffee, coconut latte, viet latte, and sesame latte and they were all a 10. The cups look small, but it's just the right amount and the flavor is so well balanced in sweetness! I'm having so much difficulty finding one flaw of the cafe, and the only thing I can think of is that it's sometimes hard to find a place to sit down because it's always busy! I usually come Sunday afternoons after the fremont Sunday market, so it's expected to be busier than usual. But even when I come on a random tuesday to study, it's packed (but less so). It's a decent place to study since there's a couple outlets and my friend and I comfortably fit both our laptops on one table. I'll let my pictures speak for themselves because it's not hard at all to take aesthetic pictures here. The interior changes with the season; I remember in the summer, there was a floral backdrop, and for Christmas, a beautiful tree! Aroom is one of the better places in Seattle to get coffee and matcha. Going into the cafe, the decor fits well and overall the interior is very aesthetically pleasing. I usually opt for the gloomy matcha but this time I ordered a pandan coffee (which I did not get which was a bummer) Service was fast and simple as always Coffee with sesame cream - 4/5 read more
