Omg, this place is SUCH a vibe! The pink and green are my favorite--it's giving strawberry matcha! I got the Black Sesame Matcha and my husband got the Purple Rain, and both were SO good! Mine had the perfect nutty, rich flavor, while his had the nicest lavender and Ube flavor. Such a cute spot with delicious drinks--a must try spot when you're in Seattle!

This is technically the third location of Matcha Magic I've been to, and they've all been consistent including this one; nothing overly special in general but really nice to have a location for in case I want a matcha fix. This was on a sunny Sunday around 12pm after a big meal elsewhere, and we had to use street parking to get here. Luckily, Sunday street parking in the early noon hours is somewhat easier than other times. Similar to the interior of the Matcha Magic in Cap Hill, the floors and ceiling appear unfinished yet the walls are a bright white with the menu items strewn on the walls. Some seating is available by the walls and via two-tops with circular tables, and there is one restroom in the back. Menu is both up on the counter and at the front entrance just before you walk in. I got myself the mango sticky rice matcha for this visit. It has their mango puree, rice milk, coconut cream and their ceremonial matcha. I think I expected this drink to be heavier for some reason, but rice milk is not as thick as regular or oat milk. The mango bits overpower the matcha especially after stirring the drink, and there's a watered-down aftertaste where I couldn't even taste the matcha for a while. My sis got the earl grey matcha, which retains a lot more matcha taste and actually tastes as advertised compared to the mango sticky rice matcha. The bergamot taste is strong, though most of the drink did taste like vanilla with some hints of lavender despite the menu not putting in lavender as an ingredient for the drink. The small piece of lavender in the drink was an odd but welcome decoration.

Plenty of seating available for those that want to work or just relax and sip their Matcha Food: No food or pastries available when I visited, but plenty of matcha drink options. I chose the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha latte, and it was fabulous! You can taste the richness and quality of the matcha they used, and the mango was fresh and used real fruit! Service: The people working here were very friendly!

Just happened to catch the end of their soft launch and grand opening on my trip to Seattle. I walked here from my hotel just about every day. I tried four matcha flavors - banana cream, purple rain, black sesame and mango sticky rice. The matcha isn't overly sweet, which is fine but I personally prefer a bit more sweetness. The presentation is nice and I like they have a variety of matcha flavors and smoothies. Highlights for me were the purple rain and black sesame. Those flavors complimented the matcha well. My least favorite was the mango sticky rice. Had a watery consistency that gave a juice vibe opposed to matcha. Decor is cute, staff is very friendly. I recommend!

The mango sticky rice matcha was a creative offering and was not too sweet. Every other matcha place has the standard latte and strawberry matcha. It seems like there was an extra level of thought when it came to the menu. In addition to the very good matcha, the customer service was surprisingly excellent. The staff working the cash register was named Calista. She greeted the customers upon entry, smiled genuinely, took the time to explain the menu (and detailed what was not too sweet), added that it'll take just a few moments to make, and wished everyone a wonderful day (in addition to saying thanks). This used to be standard operating procedure back in the day (Millennials and older), and it's so rare to come across with these screens, robots, and Gen Z taking orders now. Nobody knows the art of true customer service and hospitality anymore. Thankfully, Matcha Magic has Calista on the team. Matcha spots are just a dime a dozen now. What stands out is true menu creativity (without going overboard) and genuine customer service with real human personality. It's ironic that this shop is down the street from a dozen buildings filled with tech worker drones.

So far, soooooo good! I tried the Purple Rain now twice, in honor of the legendary Prince! I think he would be proud. Just ordered a toast flight. I haven't tried it yet, but I love the option to try a few diffeeent ones to see what I like...hopefully they can do a Matcha flight. Super cute shop, only con (thus far), is it ended up being an expensive lunch with a toast flight & one drink.

The worst matcha of my life. Its a cute place to do work but the matcha is watered down, its 90% milk and 10% low grade cheap matcha. Just overall terrible, dont come here. Just go to starbucks

Matcha Magic is a newer cafe in the area (I think), but I think their matcha options are great! I love the earl grey matcha as a mid-day pick me up - it's never grainy and it's always the right shade of green. Definitely would recommend! Prices are as you'd expect in the area, around $8-10 per drink. read more

I've been watching and waiting for them to open and it's finally happened! I love their Cap Hill location so I was over the moon that now I don't have to go up the hill for my favorite matcha. The menu seems to be the same as other locations though there's definitely new items to try too. When I asked they did not have a location specific drink like the others (yet?) and are still waiting on frothers for the hot drinks (all items are currently only available cold). I don't think they have a food menu running yet either as I didn't see it out. It's a super cute little spot though with lots of windows and indoor seating. It would be nice if maybe they consider outdoor tables in summer since they have a no dogs inside rule sadly. Will definitely be back and maybe hoping for a location exclusive menu item in the future! read more

I stay in this area for work every couple of weeks and usually stay at the Astro Hotel just a few blocks away, so I was excited to see this place had just opened. I've been a couple of times already, and everything has been great. They have a nice variety of matcha drinks, the avocado toast is fresh and delicious, and the açaí bowls are excellent. The staff has been friendly, and the atmosphere is clean, bright, and welcoming. I'm happy to have such a great breakfast and coffee spot within walking distance of my hotel. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in town! read more

I ordered the blueberry matcha with oat milk and it was a little earthy tasting I didn't really taste the sweetness of my drink til the bottom. Nonetheless, it was still pretty good. The customer service here was much friendlier than the Capitol Hill location. The space has less seating than the Capitol Hill location however it still has the same vibrancy of pink and green colors as the Capitol Hill Matcha Magic. Overall, I'd recommend Matcha Magic in South Lake Union if you're ever in the mood for matcha/are in the SLU area. read more

This place is soooo freaking cute, was super close to my hotel on a recent trip and it was a great way to start the day in Seattle. We went the day before and the day of their grand opening and both of the drinks we tried were amazing. In total we tried four drinks (two each), the matcha mallow, the blueberry matcha, the strawberry matcha, and my personal favorite the mango sticky rice matcha. The Matcha here is super high quality and doesn't have that bitter or overly processed taste that most franchise coffee/matcha shops have. Service was also super good, staff was super quick and very nice.
