BRAND NEW VIETNAMESE COFFEE SHOP IN FREMONT!!!
I went to their private soft opening a few weeks back and tried the sesame and salty coffee. I waited until today to write a review since I knew they were looking to improve their menu with all the feedback they received.
I am always thrilled to see a new Vietnamese coffee shop since I usually only drink Ca Phe Sua Da (Vietnamese coffee). Me and my coworker were the second and third in line for their grand opening today! I can see myself coming here every or every other weekend for coffee and snack.

The space:
Simple, elegant, and calming. Very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. A perfect space to catch up with a friend or sip on coffee while reading a book.
The menu:
There are a variety of coffee and tea options, prices ranging from $4.00-$6.75. The drinks are on the sweeter side but not overly sweet where you would get tired or bored of it after a few sips. Most coffee drinks are available in 12 and 16 ounces while teas and noncoffee drinks are 16 ounces. They also have house cake and savory sticky rice (which is only available on the weekends).
My personally favorites are the sesame latte and salty coffee. The sesame latte is perfect for someone that enjoys black sesame desserts/drinks. It is sweet, nutty, creamy and dreamy! As good as it is, I think this one would be more of the occasional drink for me, when I'm in the mood for black sesame flavor. The salty coffee is sweet, slightly salty, and creamy. This one is definitely going to be my go-to drink from now on. The coffee itself doesn't have a bitter aftertaste, which could be good or bad depending on how you like your Vietnamese coffee. For me, I like it medium/strong but not bitter. Though there are rare days where I want to be slightly smacked in the face with a strong bitter Vietnamese coffee LOL. I wanted to try their flan add on today but they didn't have it. I also wanted to try their coconut affogato but they didn't have the coconut ice cream available due to equipment issues. Definitely will be back to try both of these items!
I will warn in advance that if you get a drink without ice, the cup will not be filled since they use a set amount of coffee and toppings for their drink. I recommend getting it without ice if you do not plan on drinking it right away and your commute is over 45-60 minutes since it'll dilute the drink.
Savory sticky rice was my splurge for the day at $9.50+tax. The portion is small and more of a snack than a meal. It comes with a variety of yummy toppings: quail egg, fried egg strips, cha lua (Vietnamese ham), pate, egg, dried shrimp, pork floss, chinese sausages, and house special sauce (very similar to thit kho imo). There is pate and dried shrimp so you know it's legit haha. This dish reminds me of the savory sticky rice I've had many times in Vietnam when I was younger and when I go back to visit precovid.
The owner and staff:
Today was the fourth time I've met the owners of aroom and they are truly some of the nicest and most genuine people I've met in Seattle. They are both receptive to feedback so I recommend that you leave your own review and/or DM on Instagram (aroom_coffee). I know they would really appreciate it. As for their team, everyone was very nice and welcoming.
My wish list:
It would be awesome if they had crushed ice for the drinks... I'm a sucker for crushed ice in drinks haha. read more
