I've been wanting to try this place for months and I'm glad I did. I went here on a Tuesday evening around 5 with a friend. Our server was Jennifer and she was fantastic! They had just opened a section when we got there so we were the first ones and the music was loud enough to the point where we had to raise our voices to hear each other. I asked Jennifer if she could turn the music down and was so nice and did it so it was more comfortable to talk. I had the black bean burger and fries. I really liked the fries. They're midway between the skinny McDonald's fries and fat steak fries and are really well seasoned. The veggie burger was ok. Not the most amazing thing I've never had but I appreciated the option, especially since it wasn't the dreaded portobello burger (seriously, who wants a giant mutant mushroom as a meal?!). My friend had the "It's So Gouda" burger with tater tots and she really enjoyed it. Like I mentioned before, our server was awesome and attentive without being annoying. We actually were there for about 2.5 hours and she was so incredibly nice and offered to refill our drinks despite having closed our check. While walking out, I passed two workers, both of whom went out of their way to wish me a good night. Something little but much appreciated. They also have TONS of TVs, including individual TVs at each table, with channels and volume that can be adjusted by a little switch on the side. I like this place! It was my first time here after hearing everyone rave about it but honestly it's nothing to rave about minus their potato soup with bacon it was great! But I ordered the bacon burger & it was the size of a McDouble from McDonalds I literally was like "what is this?" I could have went to McDonalds at this rate. The burger had no seasoning but the hot peppers & cheese tried to hide the fact that it wasn't but I know my flavors so I wasn't having it. I had to dip my burger in honey mustard to get over the basic taste. I also had the fajita chicken & it was soooo dry & had no flavor. I really HOPE you guys don't think salt & pepper is seasoning lol the cheese & peppers helped the dish & the dipping sauce taste like rubber. It was all trash honestly lol When it comes to service our waiter Jay was ok, he was very informal to us like we were kids so he was rushing saying "are you ready to order yet?" I was like uhuh he tried it lol i get it was a busy night but he vibe was weird, we didn't like how he responded to us. My fiancé and I have been to Arooga's quite a bit but after today's experience, we will never go there ever again! Two of our friends were in town for the holidays, one from NJ and the other from MD. We wanted to have a few apps, beers and watch football. Arooga's wasn't packed, so we went in and sat at a high-top by the bar. We were immediately approached by the bouncer and were demanded to present our IDs, which was of course not a problem since all of us are well over the age of 21. He asked for a second form of ID from our two friends who were visiting and they complied and gave another form. Unfortunately, their credit card was not accepted. Both of our friends embarrassingly dumped out their wallets for the bouncer and nothing was acceptable. They showed him things with their full name, another photo ID, etc., but he would not accept anything unless it showed that they were from NJ and MD. After a ridiculous amount of back-and-forth, my fiancé asked to speak with a manager. The manager was just as rude and unprofessional as the bouncer (and not to mention, looked younger than we did). The manager said, whatever the bouncer says goes. From there, we left. On the way out I asked the bouncer, "what kind of identification are you expecting to see that states their home address or state of residency?" He said, "I've had plenty of people show me their boaters license." This was LAUGHABLE. Is this place serious? A NYC club on a Saturday night does not even go as far as asking for this sort of identification. Our group left and went to the Village Idiot where they happily accepted our business. Lack of customer service on multiple occasions. Bartender saw us sitting there for at least 20 minutes and didn't even acknowledge us. Not even a "hey I'll get to you in a minute". I get it if you're busy but the bar wasn't even a quarter full. Had to walk out and even the TWO hostesses seemed to not even know we existed. Wow, what can I say. I just met Meagan for the first time and she is so sweet. Greeted me and my family with a smile. She was an awesome bartender and although it was busy she never stopped working hard. She introduced us to the manager Michelle who had us all laughing. Ton of TVs and nice atmosphere but food and service is just very average at best (and I was there on a Monday afternoon when it wasn't very busy). Average burger, old French fries, beer that lacked carbonation and was served to me looking like urine in a pint glass with no head. The food is good and decently priced. The atmosphere is great up until you realize they have the world's worst bartenders. It's twice I've been there and they literally pay no attention to you. Today my friend and I sat down for 15 minutes and the bartender did not seem to care to serve us at all. He didn't even wanna give us a drink menu when we asked. Stopped by sunday night for a quick meal before going to a show downtown. After seeing some of the reviews, I was worried that about the service. Not a problem. Backroom was about 3/4 full and service was excellent. The wait staff was right there and the food runners were spot on. There were TV's every where you looked and a great selection of games. Now the food. Had fried pickles, burger, and loaded fries. All were good. My wife had a philly cheese steak. Great sandwich and good cole slaw. Amazing selection of beers. Went to Aroogas the other day and ordered a burger medium-well done. Waiter comes over looking like Zangief from Streetfighter and throws down a burger which was pretty damn good but I just didn't like the Mets hat he was wearing, so I asked for another waiter and in comes in this stunning gentleman with tattoos and ear Guages. Without even telling the new waiter my order he knows what I want and need in life, like he's reading my mind. Not even 5 minutes go by and he effortlessly moonwalks the food to my table like Michael Jackson in the flesh, and even lets out a "hehe" as he struts on back to the kitchen. I would like to add that on the way back to the kitchen he decided to punch one of the barbacks in the face and screamed "stop flexing Tom ur not big!" In his direction. Quite a bizarre experience i must say, but very fulfilling. Will eat here again. That guy for president!! read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would- and I RARELY post any reviews on yelp. We have ordered this several times on DoorDash and each time it has been terrible. First of all, they can't even get the order right. Incorrect orders, extremely poor food quality (our mozzarella triangles were BARELY cooked) and I am a vegetarian and specifically asked for ONLY AMERICAN CHEESE on a grilled cheese and they added BACON. Now my meal was contaminated by the meat because they can't get an order right. The food quality was absolutely horrible- the chicken fingers my boyfriend ordered were cold and extremely unsatisfying. Please DO NOT GO and DO NOT ORDER from this establishment. This is the kinda place that is hard to review.... It's like they strive to be middle of the road and take pride in it! We've eaten here a few times now, they have a HUGE menu and a lot of interesting drink options, if you like SPORTS there are a bazillion TV's everywhere. Definitely great for a group, an office outing, place to bring a picky family and everyone will be satisfied. That's also my biggest critique with this place, it just doesn't fit in Patchogue with so many other fantastic choices... If Aroogas opened up in a central PA mall it'd be a great destination. If you are looking to bring the kids somewhere, impress your bro's by ~signing the waver~ to even sample their hottest wing sauce, do a girls night out at a place with YUGE novelty drink glasses, Aroogas is a solid choice. This morning we decided to give Arooga's a shot for super bowl brunch since we have been to the other brunch spots in town. We were a party of 8 and the first (and for a bit the only ones) there. Everything started off well, but then went downhill from there. What seemed to be the problem is not having the staff there to properly take care of more than one table. While the menu is expansive, it took forever to get our food. There were two tables, including us, at this point. Our second round of drinks were sitting at the bar right in front of us, and the bartender clearly knew they belonged to our table. Eventually we just got up and got them ourselves. Most of our food was cold, which was surprising considering how long it took to get. The manager realized this and comped us some extra snacks, but needless to say we won't be back. read more

Where do I start... My wife and I were were so excited for a new sports bar in Patchogue. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in with the set up. Plenty of TVs and what seemed to be the perfect Sunday football location. Here's were the problem started. Sat at a high top table, there was a neon bud light sign located above our heads which attracted every genre of flying insects known to man. The problem was these insects were falling on to the table and on to me. I'm not one to complain much due to the fact I was so excited I tried to not let it bother me. The food... I was convinced that they could have served me spicy brown mustard on a cardboard box and I still would've been optimistic about this place. That was until my wife got her sliders. Undersized and bland. Our waitress had no personality. She never asked my wife if she wanted a drink, only me. After asking if I wanted another jack and Coke, My wife had to flag her down to tell her to order another bud light and the waitress's response "wow you drank that fast" meanwhile it was 20 mins since we got our drinks. ***update*** We started to write this review a few weeks ago and never posted it. We decided to give it another shot. We are currently here sitting in a booth in the back for Sunday football. (We are pat fans and it wasn't on reg tv) The only thing that is good about this place is the TVs. The food was absolutely horrendous once again. I have been to Arooga's before in person and it was okay. I decided to order through Door Dash. After waiting an hour and a half I called my dasher and I found out that Arooga didn't realize that their system wasn't turned on. The Dasher had to manually import the order and was told it would take 15 minutes. I find it surprising that on a Saturday night Arooga's wouldn't check to see that their system wasn't available? We ordered at 4:30pm and received the order at 6:40pm. We order a burger, fish and chips and pick 2 fajita's. When we finally got the order we realized they got the order wrong. We asked for Chicken and steak Fajita and we were sent the Shrimp and Chicken. I do no suggest doing take out from Arooga's. This is the second time ordering take out and both times were wrong. One of my favorite restaurants in patchogue. Being a vegetarian I am thrilled will all of the options they have. Their faux wings are amazing (ask for the sauce on the side to get the best crispy chix). I have no complaints the food always comes out fresh, the wait staff is friendly & accessible. Went there this evening with family and friends. We're seated right away. For a sports bar it was actually very quiet and tv's were silent so we could talk and have fun. Everything we ordered was delicious (crab pretzel smelled a little too much like seafood). Waiter was attentive and funny and pleasant. Potato soup was delicious and cheesy. With so many restaurants in that area will need to try them but will definitely go there again. read more

Food was on par with what you'd expect for a sports bar, maybe a little more to the plus side hence the higher than OK rating. LOTS of flat screen TV's. Decent food but the service is consistently poor. It's not uncommon to first be asked for drink orders 15 min after sitting at the bar even when it's empty. You will also wait another 15 before they ask if you want to order food. After you get your drinks and food, you're pretty much on your own. They rarely ask if you would like refills. The food/drinks are solid, but the service is very spotty. You should not have to beg for their attention. Servers are usually too busy avoiding you or flirting with customers. read more

This place is barely worth a review. The service was mediocre and the wings that I expected to be amazing since I was in a wing place were probably the worst wings I ever had. I ordered the kangarooga flavored wings and they tasted like NOTHING. My friend ordered the "almost everything" wings which also had little flavor. Along with all of them being over cooked, and not in the good crispy wing kind of over cooked. They're receiving two stars from me only because their friend banana peppers were delicious. I placed a takeout catering order from them on their website over a week in advance. Called 4 days before the order (to modify it) was supposed to be delivered and they didn't have my order. After dealing with a rude manager saying "I don't want to be blamed for this you probably put the wrong location in" I sent him my order confirmation number and location. (the location was right) He then said I don't know why we didn't get the order. Fast forward to the day of delivery they were on time and delivered everything but the food was not good. Everything was pretty much cold and the mac and cheese had no flavor. The taco bar was pathetic. Wings were cold and flavorless. Pretzel bites were burnt. Bouncer was an ass. I had friends visiting from out of state and even though they were over 21 he continued to act rude and asked for a second proof which we willingly provided. These second proofs were apparently insufficient. After briefly encountering a manager who seemed to care less about the situation, his response was "what the bouncer says goes". I understand the process of checking Id's, but when you're whole group is over 21 and you feel like you're being harassed that is not a place I want to watch football on a Sunday. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite. Huge menu - very different selection of appetizers. We ordered the sliders and crab pretzel, which were pretty good but not outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch burger and my husband raved about his General Tsao wrap. I did not see what I wanted on the drink menu but the bartender quickly and happily made a special order for me, which looked and tasted so delicious it was requested by a customer at the next table! I really wanted to love this place, but I'm still in strong like since I am a football fan and enjoy any place that puts on SEC games. The drinks aren't strong in the least, I had to pau for an additional shot to be put into my drink. I also prefer to sit at the bar because, the dining room doesn't have the best service. As far as the food, the philly cheese steak is great, juicy, well seasoned but not overly salty. I wasn't a fan of the buffalo wings, they were just okay. Good place to go if you're just looking for decent wings and beers while watching a game. I wouldn't stray from the wing menu... the mozzarella triangles were cold and the sauce was extremely watery. It was not busy during our time there at all, as it was about 4pm on a Saturday. Our waitress didn't bring us plates for our appetizer and we waited 15+ minutes to get our beers. Just wanted to say that we went out last night and it was Grand Opening in East Brunswick. I really can't complain because we obviously knew that there would be a wait for seating but we went to the bar and waited. The bartenders were very nice and very responsive to what you wanted. The inside of the place was very nice, great music, lots of tvs and awesome people. Our server was Jules and she was very cool and down to earth, definitely will be requesting her again. The food was good but the only downfall to the food was that they didn't give you a lot and for the price I thought you should get alittle more. This is a fantastic place to grab a bite, watch a game, take the kids, have a beer, have a snack, relax, hang out, meet friends or go for a casual date night. TVs everywhere including at your booths w control over the numerous sports channels. Eco friendly environment. Gluten Free and Vegan options w a Pub + Style menu! Delicious food, excellent service, massive bar. Great kids menu (Hot Dog, Pizza, Chicken tenders, mini burgers, pasta, ice cream). Definitely will be back!!!!!
