During Covid times, I specifically search around for local places to support. This place did not disappoint. I specifically needed a brake job on my Jeep, and they were very open, honest, and available for my specific needs. They were very open to me bringing my own parts, but also offered to beat the competition. After the diagnosis, they honestly and candidly told me that I did not need a full on brake job. They instead, offered to do the fronts and clean the back brakes. To me, this was very honest and ethical. I would definitely recommend this auto repair shop. read more

Knowing of a good mechanic is just as important as having a good dentist, doctor, hard stylist, etc. We moved to the Madison metro area two years ago and had a need to find a good mechanic so I asked trusted people I know. I was referred to Arneson's Auto Repair & Towing, right at University Ave. and Park St. in the heart of Middleton. Tom, who is the manager and an expert mechanic, is absolutely outstanding and one of the most honest gentlemen I've ever met. They have very reasonable prices for their work, and will tell you just what is wrong and what it will take to fix it right, the first time. After a let down of an experience with another shop in town, I started looking into Arneson's shop; afterall, they're right up the road from where I live. I needed my car towed since it wouldn't turn over and asked them to also diagnose the problem. I spoke with Tom, who was incredibly nice over the phone - the type of guy who sounded like he enjoys what he does for a living. Even the gentleman who came to tow the car was friendly as we chatted while he hooked up the car. They towed it and gave me a call the next day with the fix to the issue I was having. This is hands down the first time I have ever gone to a auto shop and not had the mechanic try to sell me on other services. I know there are a few other mechanical/body issues with my Jeep - but they fixed what I asked them to look at it and didn't mention the other problems. I broke a ball joint on my car just down the road from this shop. I had never been there but there were some great reviews online. I got towed over. The gal I talked with on the phone after thier noramal hours was so kind and sweet. The man that was towing that evening just happend to be there he let us in took our information and reassured us that they could fix the car on Friday before they closed. He was also super friendly. Tom the manager called me several times letting me know how everything was going what he hadto fix BEFORE he did it. I have gone places where they just fix things and don't ask. He was so kind and down to earth. Not only was everyone super friendly they didn't charge me and arm and leg the prices were super reasonable even though I was put in a vunerable situation where someone could have over charged me easily.
