I've never been pressured into adding on services I don't need. As a young woman I've found a lot of places will treat you poorly or try to swindle you, but not here. I was met with the absolute best customer service. Not only did they squeeze me into a tight schedule but they also did a quick check over on my car and made sure it was running as smoothly as possible. I knew I needed an oil change and they were able to get that done as well. I spoke with one of the owners in depth about their business philosophy of repair instead of replace parts when possible and always taking care of customers. They were super helpful and nice and took the time to explain everything. I will be going to this spot for all my car issues for the rest of my time in Madison. I felt like they really cared for their customers and I'm so glad I found them!!

They took great care of me to such an extent that I want to bring my vehicle back for any maintenance that needs to be done. Pros: The front desk guy: very friendly, he remembers the clients and interacts with them on a personal level. My vehicle was not completely repaired on the first try. I called when the issue resurfaced and he immediately remembered who I was, expressed concern, and scheduled a follow up appointment. Their attitude: it's evident that they are committed to getting the job done right. It seems as if every person working there has a genuine love and interest for what they do. Their integrity: you have to worry about whether mechanics are trying to upsell you on things you do not need a lot of times. This was not the case here whatsoever. I did not get the "greedy" vibe from this place. They were genuinely concerned with fixing what the issue was and sending me on the way from there. Cons: I'm short on that right now. It was an all around positive experience.

How do you know you have an honest shop? When they, like a…read moredoctor, tell you that you have a terminal hospice patient and not something they can cure. I have never had a more honest shop. The news I got was terrible-tied with serious sentimental value-the answer I got was honest. I had to convince them to do the work to make it safe to drive-knowing there was no cure. Then they do it in record time, charge me less than others would or quoted and were nice as could be. They explained the in detail what they could and could not cure, advised that I not invest and after significant pressure offered a middle path. They stayed opened late to accommodate, did amazing work and did it well. I love this shop. You will too.

Don't let the other reviews fool you. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this shop or…read moreits staff. I brought my car in on August 10th for an oil change, tire rotation, and to check a service light on the dash. About an hour later I got a call about it, and was given an outrageous quote to repair the root cause of the light, which turned out to be my alternator. On that call I wasn't given any real explanation or even a breakdown of the cost. That's also where I learned about a diagnostic fee I would be charged even if I went ahead with the repair, something I was never told about upfront. I declined the repair. After that call, I got quotes from a dealership and two other local shops for the same alternator repair. DiMaggio was going to charge me roughly 30 percent more than the dealership and nearly 70 percent more than the other local shops. Nobody called to let me know my car was ready, so I showed up assuming it was done. At pickup, I was charged for services I never approved, with no explanation until I pushed for one. My invoice said I had been given a courtesy vehicle inspection, but I didn't actually receive the results until after I had already complained. When I asked for the manager's contact information in person, I was handed a business card with an incorrect email address on it. I had to track down his correct email myself just to reach him. He did call the following day, and I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because of that call, but the conversation mostly defended his team's handling of things rather than offering any real path to fixing it. Because of that, I ended up taking my car to another shop instead. This experience was more than terrible. It didn't make sense on paper or even in person. Avoid this shop if you can.

My first visit to Wright's went about as well as could be expected...sort of. After wondering where the heck can I park my car due to a lot full of "spare parts" vehicles? and such I found a spot and went in. The people inside were friendly and very helpful. The price was great and I did not feel overcharged at all. Very honest and trustworthy (my problem turned out to be something simple caused by the dealership); they could have overcharged me as I was prepared for the worst, but they did not. Don't judge this book by the cover. I have been back once...same great service and will be back again...and again.

After asking friends and neighbors with no luck I turned to Yelp and saw the great reviews for Monona Motors. I had seen this place dozens of times on walks and bike rides - it is just a mile away so I thought I would give them a try. It is a tiny place so it is hard to get into but I was not in a rush - two weeks out was OK. Greg and the guys were really friendly and straightforward in helping to figure out what was wrong. They only fixed what was wrong and did so in a cost effective way. They also discovered a very rusted out part that needed replacing in order to replace a rocker arm (I saw the old one - wow I am lucky it didn't fall apart). They tried getting the part from Nissan but due to pandemic supply chain issues it was not available but they found one from the South on Ebay for a quarter of the price of new. It was in great shape (no salt used down there). I like their initiative in trying Ebay for the part. I brought the car back for this additional work. It was done quickly and for the price quoted. So far so good with both the brake job and the front end work - and I am sure I saved a ton of $ going to these guys. I am glad I found them on Yelp!
