I will be moving out-of-state at the end of August - not exactly sure where yet so decided to put my furniture/household goods into storage with plans to return after I have found a new city and home. I searched for a unit at Public Storage and found a couple but not close to my current home. After doing an internet search of storage units close to me, I found Armored Mini Storage - did not realize that they were so close (I'm in the shopping center all the time but just never paid any attention to what was behind the center.) I decided to visit the location to look at available units and get a 'feeling' as I've never heard of Armored Mini Storage. After entering, I was met by LaToya who was very friendly, professional and provided excellent customer service. We looked at a couple of units, I picked one and completed the paperwork. During this process, I also met Ian (husband of LaToya) and learned that they are the on-site managers. Ian was very nice as well!
Building: The building is older (believe from the late 80's); however, it appeared to be well maintained. Parking for loading/unloading was available at the front entrance and there are 2 elevators.
Unit Rental: I received a special of 50% off my first month's rental rate as well as a free lock. In addition, as a veteran I received 10% off my monthly rental rate - be sure to ask for the MILITARY DISCOUNT if you qualify.
Insurance: Most every type of rental (apartments, storage, car, etc.) requires you to have proof of insurance coverage for sign-up for their insurance. This was discussed with me and part of the Booking Confirmation document. If you have coverage through your homeowner's policy, just need to show the declarations page. If you cannot provide proof at the time of rental, there is a monthly fee of $9.00 for $2,000.00 in coverage.
LaToya and Ian were exceptional and have set the tone for what I'm confident will continue to be a positive experience! read more
