Mi Yucatan has been serving Yucatanean cuisine for several years now, and I had enjoyed their mondongo before, basically their version of menudo (review: https://yelp.to/n0k87qX6j4). However, it looks like they're expanding their menu to include a robust selection of breakfast specials under a new moniker. A good thing since the Mission doesn't have many breakfast spots beyond breakfast burritos at taquerias and of course, Jim's (review: https://yelp.to/Wdzapjq_N2). The menu is pretty extensive, full pages devoted to main dishes, breakfast burritos, eggs Benedict, and juices. The last page listed omelettes, pancakes, bagels, and French toast (interestingly no waffles). I went overboard and ordered the $16.99 Strawberry Banana French Toast. It was quite a sight. There were two thick slices of Brioche bread covered in egg yolk, saturated in butter, and layered with a ring of sliced bananas arranged like dominos ready to topple. It was topped with thinly sliced strawberries shaped like a blooming rose (photo: https://yelp.to/GiPTFQkkYj). Yes, it came with a ramekin of syrup. I don't think it was maple. More likely agave. While the execution was impressive, I have to say the cumulative result was just too sweet for my taste. Perhaps if I tried the $19.99 French Toast Combo, I could've counterbalanced the sweetness with savory elements like bacon and eggs, but even my belly has its limits. FOOD - 3 stars...a nice presentation but just too sweet for me AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...still the same space it's been as Mi Yucatán SERVICE - 3.5 stars...attentive enough TOTAL - 3 stars...I'll come back for the more savory side of the menu RELATED - Exploring the Mission? I got breakfast from this restaurant via Uber eats while staying at the Soma Hotel . I was very detailed with my notes which I was happy that I was able to leave in the Uber app not everybody allows notes. I let them know if my gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. I also asked for extra sauce, again very accommodating my food was absolutely delicious. I would absolutely get this meal again. The potatoes were divine and the benny was everything I could've asked for. I will definitely order from here again if I find myself in town.

My first time here, this place wasn't crowded when I went here, but they were getting a ton of door dash orders. The reviews kept talking about the French toast, which was odd to me, but I had to see what the hype was all about. The place was clean and nicely decorated with pictures and paintings. Everything is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait. We ordered: 1. French Toast: This definitely was true to the hype. It was so fluffy and sweet. It didn't need syrup. 2. Chilaquiles - The chips were crunchy and had a light kick. Like once you start eating, you can't stop. This definitely hit the spot. 3. Chorizo breakfast burrito - So flavorful and meaty. Perfect ratio of chorizo, egg, and beans. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back.

So me and my boyfriend have been craving and wanting a chorizo breakfast burrito for the longest time. Although there are many Mexican restaurants around the city, we just could never come across good reviews on breakfast burritos. I seen this place had a Chorizo breakfast burrito to offer yet only had one review. So we decided to take a chance on it. & Boy am I happy we took that chance. If you are looking for a big, hearty chorizo burrito, you definitely need to try this place out. Pretty pricey for a burrito but definitely worth it. It normally has eggs, chorizo, beans, cheese and sour cream, but we decided to not add sour cream. Haven't gotten the chance to try anything else from this place, but if we decide to order something else from here, i'll be sure to update this review! Take the chance and try this out!

This place is a joke and is probably pretty good with marketing but shouldn't be allowed to cook. I'm adding a few pictures showing the menu vs reality for both their banana bread and croissant French toast.

The crispy chicken was recommended by the server and it truly did not disappoint. The chicken was crisp and juicy and the noodles were cooked perfectly. For drinks we got the Thai iced tea, butterfly lychee fizz, and the coconut milk latte. I got the Thai ice tea less sweet and it was perfect for me ( I usually don't like it super sweet). The butterfly lychee fizz was very refreshing (could be less sweet for me) and the coffee was also very good! Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area or looking for brunch food that isn't your typical American brunch!

In my opinion Lapisara ranks in the middle due to the other excellent options available. Seated immediately--had a reso but on a Wednesday morning not really necessary. It took a long time for the single employee to get to us but we weren't in a hurry. Cappuccino was very good in a cute "bear mug" and very reasonably priced. We shared a pacific omlet--not much crab, lots of shrimp, and nice swiss cheese/scallions but tasted kind of fishy--potatoes were only avg. Son said huevos rancheros were average. Price point good for SF and portions adequate to share. Location convenient so we will try dinner there tonight before a comedy show nearby. Dinner-5++ stars; 4 of us Had dinner last night-6pm-reso but not needed. only one other group dining. Single Waitress was great-we let her know we needed to leave in about an hour for a show and she timed everything perfectly--we even had time for dessert. we ordered so many items that she brought over an extra table--we shared everything family style. Most Yelp reviews only mention brunch but the dinner was awesome--service; food: taste/quality, presentation, portions, prices we phenomenally low for SF ($200 with a bottle of wine for 4 people). We started with the garlic butter clams-small but tasty. Tuna tartar was excellent quality and enough to share. Samosas were more like empanadas--very good with peanut sauce so good it rivaled my own home made. We continued our culinary adventure with crab fried rice-delicious, a large portion and my son who lives in SF and has tried dozens of crab fried rice ranked it in the top tier. The pacific catch rice noodles with crab was also excellent-big portion, lots of crab, tasty. Final entree was their specialty-Mussaman Curry. Wow, tender meat/potatoe "stew" with a very unique flavor from the star anise/cinnamon and peanut--to die for. Creme Brulee was very good with lots of fresh fruit accompaniment My only complaint was a very limited wine selection. Lapisaia will become one of our regular spots for dinner!!!

I wouldn't call it spicy at all. The omelette felt small for the price and there wasn't much filling inside. It came with a side of potatoes that were really good. They had a nice crisp on the outside and were soft on the inside. I also got a regular coffee, and they do unlimited refills. The place was busy for brunch, and I liked the bear theme. Some of the coffees came in bear-shaped glasses, and some of the lattes had a decorative bear made out of ice.

Sitting outside on that peaceful corner watching the neighborhood wake up is a charming experience. Only downside of dining al fresco: a fly landed on my sausage. But credit to the staff - the waiter noticed and brought out a fresh plate without me even having to ask. That kind of attentive service goes a long way. The food lives up to the hype. The lemon ricotta pancakes are the star for good reason. They were light, fluffy, and not too sweet.
