Rustic Shrimp Enchilada

Delicious shrimp enchilada. Cheesy and saucy just the way we like it. Surprised it wasn't busier when we went. Friendly staff seated us right away and service was efficient.

Amazing Mexican food. The interior is gorgeous, with Mexican tiles lining the place. My steak tacos were delicious, I only wanted guac and cheese on them! My friend got a shrimp burrito that was filled with rice, shrimp, beans, Pico de gallo, Guacamole, cheese, Sour cream, Salsa Rojo! The margarita was also very good! Service was great!

This place is listed highly on Yelp. I found it pretty average. Service was marginal. We were seated outside and had to call the server over. We are patient people. Not like he did not know we were there, He seated us. Food. It was fairly good. But not worth the freight. Was like $70 bucks for 3 people with no alcohol and one coke between the 3 of us.

The roasted beet salad says it comes with warm goat cheese. That usually means a pile or spread of warm soft goat cheese on top of the salad. Instead it came with ONE deep fried croquet of goat cheese. What a rip off. It was also sprinkled w feta cheese, which is nowhere in the description of the dish. I hate feta & it was stuck to almost every piece of beet. If I was at the restaurant I would have sent it back, but it was take out, so I was stuck. $13 & extremely disappointing.

Stopped in for lunch. My set up had a dirty knife and no napkin. I thought I would order huevos rancheros which is a pretty basic brunch item at a Mexican restaurant. The restaurant had three other tables with customers. So why were my eggs not hot? The bean puree was tepid as was the ranchera sauce. This was disappointing. When I pointed it out to the gentleman who took my credit card, he just shrugged his shoulders. I don't think he had much English.

Papito's is a fun and beautifully decorated Mexican restaurant in Potrero Hill that gives you free chips and salsa and features a happy hour menu on weekdays 4-6! Highly recommend the Costilla Cortas Tacos. These are short-rib tacos that are super flavorful, soft, and well-marinated. These tacos are pricey for the size, but they do not skimp on the filling. You can mix and match taco flavors in one order. Service was attentive! Would love to swing by again for happy hour and to try their sangria.

Excellent burrito. Tried their super burrito with fried chicken. Staff was super chill and location is nice especially on a sunny day in Potrero Hill. The chicken maintained a crisp texture even after driving home 15 minutes later and the rice and beans had tons of flavor. I'd imagine eating it here would only elevate it more since they toast their tortilla pretty nicely. Definitely one of the top burritos I've had in SF.

Stopped by with coworkers for lunch. Seated quickly by our friendly server. Interior is decorated in a lively style. We ordered the tortas, quesadillas, and mole. Menu seemed psych til we saw our large serving sizes. Food was pretty tasty. Only negative was some dirty silverware for one of my coworkers. We'll be back!

Vilma is an amazing bartender! Our group really enjoyed our time at the bar. Highly recommend for small or large parties. Good prices and good people.

Came by Papito for an early and quick dinner to try their tacos. Party of 1. Walked in, got a seat right away outside on their lovely parklet. Tacos come in orders of two on either crispy or soft tortilla. All served with sour cream. Chips and three salsas also come to the table automatically. I really liked the orange salsa that had a bit of a sweeter flavor. Papitto taco - tempura shrimp, chipotle remoulade, green cabbage slaw, pico de gallo. It was hot out and this sounded like a more refreshing taco. Before the tacos came out, i was questioning the price a little bit as each taco was $8. That's a lot for a taco in my opinion. Once they came out though, I knew why. Tacos were STACKED! Like to the point I couldn't even pick it up without thing falling off. Each taco had three juicy shrimps so 6 shrimps total. Flavors on point. Shrimp was tempura fried well and slaw was crispy for that added bite. The only thing I wasn't a fan of, actually, was the size. It seemed too big and made a huge mess all over the plate that I had to go back in and eat with a fork. Delicious taco that I think could be brought down to 3 manageable sized tacos with 2 shrimps each.

churros were delicious! we just went in for dessert but staff was great, and vibes were cute and neighborhood/community focused.

One of my favorite Potrero Hill restaurants. Easy outdoor seating to take a noisy kid and food that makes everyone happy! My kid loves the fried fish tacos. We often ask for a a flour tortilla on the side too.. I personally am a sucker for their sauced up burrito. One of the better options in the city!

Nice review of Mexican chiles

This place is awesome. It has one of the (imo) definitive burritos in SF, which comes out wrapped 3-ply with aluminum foil on a ceramic plate. I don't why, but it just screams SF hidden gem vibes. The place is typically very busy and for good reason: their options are vast, their fajitas hot n' steamy, and the burritos bigger than your forearm. I usually stick with steak for my meat of choice, but I also appreciate the short-rib option, as well as duck and some other lesser-seen meats in mexican cuisine. Will update this after a few more visits, but I think this stands nicely at 4.5 stars!

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

The service was good, and I went at night when there wasn't a long line. There are a couple of tables outside to sit. However, it does feel a bit pricey and I hear the line is super long at times. And the matcha ice cream barely tasted like matcha. There isn't much decor to speak of, it's a store front only and no interior. And the sign for "reasons we don't give samples" is funny but feels excessive. I still thoroughly enjoyed it though and will likely come again.

I'm told on the weekends it gets super busy thanks to their menu of chocolate infused everything including coffees and teas. On the left to the inside is their full range of bars, which includes a placard with the location of the cacao and tasting notes. There are also free samples of everything, and the servers can help you with questions. They even have little tasting sheets for notes if you want to get serious and remember for future visits. They have a few tables and bar seating at the front, with more bar seating along the back right leading to the clean restrooms. Here you'll also find educational displays about chocolate and viewing windows to the roasting and processing rooms. Even though it was afternoon, it was so much fun to order things with caffeine just for the sheer joy of it. We had the chocolate milk, I had a chocolate infused black tea, we shared a special new bar, and were given their signature tiny cookies. Prices are reasonable for the quality, both the drinks and the bar. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they clearly love the place as much as we do.

The americano was nicely mixed to begin with and paired well with the creamy, slightly sweet and slightly salty matcha cream without compromising the matcha bitterness. There were two lines - one for the kiosk and the other for staff. Since the latter line was shorter I thought I could get my order in early but the lady was *struggling* to get my orders straight and I had to repeat multiple times + she ultimately had to ask her co-workers how to edit.
