I stumbled upon Abraham's pop up one random Friday I ended up at El Rio. As a girl who doesn't really drink, ya end up being the starving designated driver. Cue Chicano Nuevo - OMG you saved my night. I waited and watched him set up. He had Thai Red Snapper for baja fish tacos. The fish was fresh fried to perfection. Crunchy on the outside, still flaky and meaty on the inside. A nice helping of some pickled veggies and a small squeeze of lime to cut the acid. Very nice and light, not super heavy. The potato rolled taquitos were on point too! The only thing I wish was for spicier sauce :) I just love hot sauce.. But other than that, if you're hangry at El Rio and Abraham is around, it's well worth the money to buy his food!

The food was so great!!! Such a flavorful menu. The chicken taquitos, Tri Tip Tacos, and Carne Asada were delicious. This restaurant is in the back of The Broken Record. Both companies combined together are the perfect combination!!!

    Tri Tip tacos

Great environment nice people located inside a bar so you con get you a beer while you wait for your food. Fish tacos are nice and crispy the Tri Tip tacos meat was nicely marinated. Carne asada fries so much flavor in one.

    Fish tacos!

For once in my life, I was forced to eat like a civilized man. On the outside, everything looked normal, but in the inside it was anything but normal: I had to open my third eye center so that I could ascend my primal instinct of going to town on this burrito. Equipped with a knife, I sawed thru that behemoth methodically - too fast and she would burst open, too slow & she would give me the cold side eye. I am the burrito slayer. Cash only, was very very well priced for the size (about $13. Receipt didn't make it out alive).

I have dined here many times in the past, and this is a cash-only restaurant. I ordered the Regular Burrito with Beef Steak ($10.25). The regular burrito comes with a flour tortilla, rice, beans, salsa, onions, and cilantro, plus your choice of meat or vegetarian. Meat choices listed on the menu: * Al Pastor - Marinated Pork * Carnitas - Deep Fried Pork * Chile Verde - Pork Green Sauce * Chorizo - Mexican Sausage * Carne Asada - Steak * Lengua - Beef Tongue * Pollo - Chicken * Cabeza - Beef Head * Tripas - Intestines I asked the cashier which meat was most popular, and he recommended the beef steak, which had a slight hint of spiciness. The burrito came with pinto beans and rice. I forgot to ask if I could substitute black beans. The burrito wasn't too salty, and the beef steak was just okay. I also think the $10.25 Carne Asada burrito is a good deal. At other taquerias, carne asada is often an additional charge or the burrito costs more when you choose steak. I usually ask for a receipt even when paying cash. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged an additional $0.25 for "Bolsa To Go" (bag) even though I was dining in and didn't receive a to-go bag. It's not about the $0.25, but I think it's important for a business to have integrity and charge customers only for what they actually receive. I hope this isn't something being charged to other dine-in customers as well. Overall, I would come back to try a different meat, but next time I'll make sure to clearly say dine-in and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't charged for a to-go bag.

I got my food about 10 mins after ordering. I went with what was popular. The Dorada (toasted) super carne asada burrito was great, but I wish it was more toasty. It was softer than it looked and I assumed that was because they are frying it in lard ? But overall solid and great burrito. I thought the tacos are slept on here. Both asada and lengua tacos were incredible. Tortillas were really fresh and yummy, and they stuff it with a lot of meat (). Would come back if I was in the area and got there within 15 mins of opening. Not sure if I would wait for it tho.

We came here on a random Thursday at 3 pm and surprisingly, the line still almost reached the end of the block. Luckily, the line moves pretty quickly and the food is solid, but be prepared to wait for a bit. My favorite meats here are the cabeza and the lengua. The cabeza is super fatty and tender and has the amazing shreddy quality of a slow cooked meat. It had the soft melty texture of collagen and was super delicious. The lengua is also really good. It was super tender and soft and had the distinct taste of beef tongue but wasn't too overpowering. The carne asada and carnitas had a good flavor but were a little bit dry for me. I think they would be better in a super taco or burrito where you have the extra fat from the cheese and avocado. My only complaint about this place is the price. I realize that everything in SF is expensive, but over $5 for a single taco and almost $9 for a single super taco is pretty egregious. There's food trucks all over the Bay Area offering cheaper (and almost, if not, just as good) tacos in my opinion.

This was a hole in the wall place for the longest, as this did not show up on google maps up until recently (AFAIK). Regardless, this burrito got clomped in five seconds from me. The environment was also very clean, and very surprisingly spacious. The star was their steak burrito. Price was alright - I believe I bought the burrito for $13 dollars or so, which was good for SF stanards. Fortunately, this location is conveniently located a block away from a train station. We entered the small storefront and joined the line of other hungry patrons. There is a man in the back who takes your order and cooks it himself. He had a helper and they were very efficient! I received my food only a few minutes after placing the order. My friends opted for the burritos and I tried a quesadilla with al pastor meat. The food came out hot and fresh and there were different salsas and pico available to customize it. I needed a good amount of salsa for my quesadilla, which wasn't too flavored but the meat was delicious and I enjoyed the warm, crispy tortilla. I tried a little of my friend's burrito and it was delicious!! I will definitely get that if I stop by again. I would recommend this spot for the portion sizes - the order was enough for two meals for me! They are quick and have no frills at this spot - it's just all about the food. Till next time!
