Frites n dips! #French75
K B.

A cool spot in the middle of the eastside food oasis. It's like Cheers meets Mystic pizza #IYKYK The frites and sauces are everything the internet said they'd be #WasabiMayo #BBQ and never say no to a pesto pizza! Dillbacks, locally sourced gin, and lively canvas of regulars, what's not to love about this neighborhood spot?!!! Best side quest everrrrrr. Alex you're the bomb!

Spicy popcorn

Dropped in after a show at abv gallery. We ended up getting a few things and sharing. Food was decent.. we got the spicy popcorn, poutine, and a dip.. to b honest I like the popcorn more than anything else. The other stuff wasn't bad. I guess just not really for me. If I could give another half star I easily would. Service was good and we were seated pretty quickly.

Parking was next to building which was nice . Free parking . Walked in and was immediately greeted and seated . We had the option of inside and outside . The food was delicious! Boss Hogg does have a spice to it but was delicious. Caesar Salad was a great portion. Drinks were good. Our total came to $80+ dollars . Not including tip. Service was fast and server was tentative

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times since I gathered my notes/pics and actually submitted this review. As we pulled up closer to the restaurant, I was figuring out the parking situation when I noticed they actually have a midsize lot reserved just for restaurant guests--free of charge We walked in, passing by the patio, and were warmly greeted at the entrance. We let them know we were a party of two hoping to sit outside, and they quickly accommodated us. We were handed a couple of menus and started to review all our options. The beer list was serious--super extensive. I needed a few minutes to make a decision. Wifey asked for a Blue Moon, but unfortunately, they didn't have it. While we kept reviewing the menu, our server did mention a special appetizer: pork empanadas. We were intrigued and decided to give them a shot. There were a bunch of hazy IPAs on the list, and the server was great about bringing out a few tasters to help me make a final decision. I ended up going with the New Lord from Magnanimous Brewery, which hit the spot. I also asked about the Nashville hot chicken sandwich--wanted to know how spicy it really was. The server let me know it wasn't too hot, but they could put the sauce on the side, which worked perfectly for me. Wifey went with a combo of southern inspired sides: collard greens and mac & cheese. The greens even came with a cornbread muffin, which was a cool bonus. Our empanadas arrived first--crispy, flavorful, this turned out to be a great recommendation from our server. Not long after, the rest of the food followed. My chicken sandwich had an amazing crunch, and while the hot sauce on the side wasn't particularly spicy, the flavor was solid. The sandwich came with a nice small side salad. Wifey enjoyed her Southern-inspired sides but did mention the collard greens were a bit on the salty side. I asked for a couple more beer samples to decide on round two and ended up going with another New Lord Hazy IPA. As we sat there, we noticed the place was buzzing with activity--it's clearly a popular spot. All in all, we really enjoyed our first visit. Great vibes, solid food, and awesome service. I would suggest sitting on the open patio to do some people watching, as you hang out. Definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu. Instagram: @whatsthenextmemory

Was in the area, and was starving and passed Argosy. It has always been on my list so I decided to finally eat there, so glad I did. Super cool space, the server was great one of the best smash burgers I've ever had, juicy and flavorful. I will without a doubt be back! You're welcome.

Argosy is a gorgeous restaurant, with a mountain cabin feel. A lot of delicious beer to choose from and I heard their pizza is really good. Service was great. We had the poutine and we loved it.

One of my favorite " dive " bars to go to for pizza and beer. The ambience is great and the food is actually really good

We hit up Argosy late night with zero expectations, especially considering my allergies (gluten, corn, and oats). But let me tell you -- they held it the f** down*. I had this chicken dish in a rich tomato sauce with vegetables, and it was incredible. The flavors were on point, the food came out hot and fresh, and those cocktails? Fire. Even at a time when most places are wrapping up, Argosy was delivering like it was peak dinner hour. Highly recommend -- if they're this good late night, imagine any other time of day. A whole vibe.

Argosy was introduced to me as a real cozy tavern like spot to get some good food and drinks and I think there's some truth to that. Service here is kinda strange. My two buddies and I were seated very isolated from the rest of the patrons and our waitress didn't even introduce herself to us--I literally had to ask what her name was. On top of that, she just straight up seemed like she didn't want to be there. We ended up moving to a different location because we were so siloed so we ended up with a different waitress and it was the same story! Hardly interested in us for some reason. I tried smiling at the staff whenever I'd walk past and never got a smile in return. The beer here is fine, if not flat as seen in the pics I posted. There is a really nice late night deal where you get a free cheese pizza if you order two draft beers.

Boss hog! Damn Rodger can make a pie! Best pizza I've had all year and I'm not bullshitting because that's my boy!
Parker W.

Good craft beer selection and great pizza. Rodger can hook up that pie. Damn! Best pie I've had in a minute. Better than anticos.

Great spot! The inside is very cool and very spacious. They have a nice combo of inside, outside, and hybrid dining. We enjoyed a delightful cheeseburger and Mac & cheese. Those were the standouts. They have a nice large list of beers, cocktails, and wine. A friendly rainbow flag hangs in the entrance~ thank you!!

My friends and I had a great time and loved our quirky and knowledgeable server. It's clear that the beer list is expertly crafted, and the cocktails are balanced without being too sweet. I had the grapefruit rosemary margarita while one of my friends tried the special open cask offering. Now, lets get into the food...specifically the FRIES. The apps and entrees we ordered were so good, yet nothing holds a candle to those super crispy fries and the Belgian aioli that comes alongside. Literally, everything was good (shoutout to the beef tartare, goat cheese fritters, tuna melt, smash burger, and crispy chicken sandwich) but I doubled back to get an extra order of fries to go. It worked just as well for lunch or after-work drinks as it did for sitting down and sharing a few tapas. Service was always friendly and attentive, and the tapas-style menu made it easy to order a few things and share instead of committing to one large meal. Holeman and Finch is known for its burger, and deservedly so, but I can't stress enough how good the other food and drink are here. Looking at the current list of Atlanta restaurants in the Michelin Guide, I think Holeman and Finch deserves to be included. I wonder why they got snubbed. Holeman and Finch relocated to Colony Square in Midtown in February 2023. The restaurant validates parking in the Colony Square garage for two hours. We stayed just over two hours and ended up paying $6. I like to enter and exit the garage via Peachtree St NE. There's also an entrance/exit on 14th St NE, next to The Starling hotel. We used to go to the original location in Brookwood/South Buckhead circa 2010 when only 24 burgers were made per night and released at 10pm. Holeman and Finch existed in that location from 2008 to 2020. It was quite the Yelp hot spot: https://www.yelp.com/biz/holeman-and-finch-atlanta-2 This new location at Colony Square is way more spacious and looks great. There's indoor and outdoor (covered and uncovered) seating. The atmosphere is that of a modern, upscale pub. It's nice. Reservations can be booked on OpenTable, so get those dining points. Our server said the brunch menu was served until 4pm. Here's what my wife and I had: Drinks: * H&F Bloody Mary ($14) * Iced Tea - half sweet, half unsweet ($5) Graze: * Naturally Served Oysters ($5 each) - cocktail sauce, mignonette, buttered saltines, horseradish - Lowcountry Cups - Charleston, SC - Dukes of Topsail - Topsail Sound, NC - Dixon Point - New Brunswick, Canada * Deviled Egg Trio ($9) - classic, country ham, and Pickapeppa mayo * Hand Chopped Sirloin Steak Tartare ($20) - capers, horseradish, egg yolk, chips * Simple Lettuces ($15) - citrus vinaigrette, crisp shallots, fromage blanc, pecans Sandwiches: * H+F Cheeseburger ($28) - certified Angus and Hereford beef, onions, Kraft, fries Plates: * Housemade Scottish Gravlax ($18) - toasted brioche, fried Pantelleria capers, lemon dill clabber * Holeman + Finch Vegetable Plate ($32) - "all that is best from our Southern farms" Dessert: * Sticky Toffee Pudding ($14) - vanilla ice cream Everything, down to the sweet tea, was fantastic. The Bloody Mary was strong and so delicious that I gulped it down. All of the dishes were beautifully plated and finished. The oysters were fresh, superb quality, and cleanly shucked. They forgot the crackers, but that's okay. I highly recommend the deviled eggs. They were perhaps the best we've ever had anywhere. If you're unfamiliar with Pickapeppa, it's a sweet and savory Jamaican brown sauce that is used to make the mayo for this dish. There was nothing "simple" about the Simple Lettuces salad. It was pretty much a perfect, tasty, and refreshing salad. As for the H+F Cheeseburger, it's a classic and continues to be one of the best burgers around. Every bite is just so good, and the ketchup and mustard remain distinct. If you've never had the burger before, get it here or at H&F Burger at Ponce City Market. The Truist Park version isn't the same and I've never tried the Mercedes-Benz Stadium version (the old Turner Field version was legit, though). If you like gravlax, wow - the gravlax here is amazing and really well made. The Vegetable Plate was terrific as well. It featured potatoes, okra, beans, succotash, mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and more with a fried onion ring on top. It's a great dish to share. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was top-notch - exceptional texture and flavor, and perfectly paired with a scoop of dense vanilla ice cream. Our server was Jonathan R. He was friendly and took great care of us. A manager checked on us too.

My friend and I wanted to try something different, and when she suggested Boxcar, I literally asked, "Where is that?" She pointed out that it was in the same area we'd been standing in countless times. For anyone visiting for the first time, it is a little tucked away past the food hall. You'll also need to walk up a set of stairs to reach the restaurant, which is worth knowing ahead of time if stairs are inconvenient or inaccessible for you. Once inside, I really liked the atmosphere. They also offer outdoor seating, but with the Georgia heat that day, there was absolutely no discussion--we were sitting INSIDE. Our server was Najah (please forgive me if I'm misspelling!), and she was AWESOME. Such a warm spirit, great energy, and exactly the type of person you'd want greeting you whether it's your first visit or your tenth. Since this was my first time, I asked for recommendations. We started with the Boom Boom Shrimp from the happy hour menu, which is available Monday through Friday until 7 PM. The shrimp? 10/10. No notes! For our entrées, my friend ordered the fish and chips, which she loved--and it came with hush puppies, so really, how could you go wrong? I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Jam Smashburger, and it was cooked perfectly. I don't even remember being asked how I wanted it cooked, but somehow they knew exactly what needed to happen. And that bacon jam?! I LOVE a sweet-and-salty combination, so it was right up my alley. The fries were fire too, but apparently I was feeling a little greedy because I noticed mac & cheese on the menu and decided I needed that as well. LISTEN. I would've been perfectly happy if somebody had taken away everything else and left me alone with that mac & cheese. It was THAT good. Easily 20/10. I actually had to ask Najah who made it because I needed to understand what exactly was happening back there! She told me about the chef, who is Caribbean and from New York, and as someone with Caribbean roots who is also from New York, I may be a little biased--but suddenly I understood why that mac & cheese spoke to my spirit the way it did. I've literally been telling people about it ever since. There's still so much on the menu that caught my attention, including the lamb burger, Brussels sprouts, short rib, and several other dishes. I've included a picture of the menu because there's definitely more exploring to do here. As far as seating, Boxcar seems pretty versatile. There were just two of us, but there's plenty of indoor seating along with bar seating, and I could easily see a group of around 10-12 being comfortable. I also noticed what appeared to be a separate space toward the back that may be available for larger gatherings. Between Najah's wonderful service, the atmosphere, everything we ordered, and THAT MAC & CHEESE, Boxcar absolutely earned a return visit. I've already been bragging about the mac & cheese to everybody who will listen, so now I'm looking forward to finding out what I'll be bragging about after my next visit.
