I stopped in here years ago while working in slc to get some tea for a guy I worked with who lived in tooele (I live in ogden). This guy served a mission in Argentina and swore by the tea. Only place he could get it in utah. I always wanted to go back and eat here. Anyway I got a job just down the road from here and gave it a try today. I ordered the beef tongue appetizer and one chicken, beef, and ham and cheese empanada. They also gave me a small loaf of bread that was amazing. The perfect crunch on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Putting a piece of beef tongue on the bread was delicious. Beef tongue - this dish was very thinly sliced and was in this amazing vinaigrette. It sounds gross but it is so good. Dipping the bread in the vinaigrette with those spices was delicious. The vinaigrette was made fresh and had the perfect amount of spices and flavor. I don't order beef tongue at all but I've heard it is good, and it is...give it a try! They also put about 2 tablespoons of the potato salad on the side and that was also very good and it made me want more so next time I'll have to order more of it. Empanadas - the crusts on them were flaky and cooked perfectly. I loved the ground beef and ham and cheese ones but I did not like the flavor of the chicken one. They are quite small so ordering 3 or more is good for lunch. They have vegetarian ones as well. I will go back and and try other dishes. I saw a sign on their wall that said they were voted best bbq but I didn't see that on the menu, the owner confirmed the do it when I asked. I want to give the bbq a try. They also had pizza and pasta on the menu. I will go back for the bread alone it was so good. Now that I work close to here I can go for lunch more often. The service is a little slow because they have limited staff but that is probably how they stay in business. One additional thing is you can see the kitchen and they keep it clean so that is a huge thing for me. No kitchen nightmares from what I could see. read more

Can't go wrong with $1.50 empanadas! I got one each of beef, chicken, and sweet onion - all excellent and authentic tasting (I should know since I just took a trip to Argentina!). Make sure you ask for some chimichurri sauce since she didn't give it to me automatically. This is not the speediest place so be ready for that. The reason for 4 stars is that there is just ONE cook. If you go on a busy night you are going to wait for a very long time. I was curious when I heard there was an Argentinian restaurant near work so I went to see how it was. It was actually pretty good. I had the beef tongue appetizer and it was delicious. No, it doesn't look like a tongue and it is marinated in a vinaigrette that was so good. The meat was tender. I also ordered the House Milanesa(beef) which was pretty decent. This place is a one man show, so it can get busy. He has to serve everything on styrofoam plates and plastic utensils because he has no help washing dishes or anything. The food is decent, but he is overwhelmed. The Yelp hours are wrong. He is only open Monday through Saturday, 11 AM to 7 PM. Not 10 PM. Yelp is wrong. I got the empanadas and the steak with an egg on top. I came for lunch on a Monday and he was already packed. I liked being able to sit outside under his canopy and trellis. I wish my food came with a side of his chimichurri sauce. He forgot to make my hot manzanilla tea. I arrived about 15 minutes before he opened to beat the rush, but it filled up fast. read more

I Like it! A little rough on the outside clean and relaxing on the inside. I Sampled a couple empanada's and really like them, smaller than I'm used to but for 1.50 each they were worth the price, plus I needed the room for the huge churrasco plate the guy brought out next. Like most Argentines they have a huge Italian influence and the pictures of their pizzas looked really good. Very authentic. We spent a week eating delicious food in Argentina and this is almost like being back in Bunos Aires. The meal would have been even better paired with a nice wine but we're in Utah so that's out of the question. The short ribs were tasty as was the milanesa. New favorite. I lived in Argentina for 2 years and since I've been back I've been on a constant search for authentic Argentine food and the Argentine Corner delivered. Something that I found awesome is the level to which this establishment hit on the authenticity scale. Not just the food but the entire atmosphere was on par. The venue isn't the most appealing from the outside but the inside was nice. I appreciated the selection of imported Argentine treats and customary Mate (cultural Argentine tea drink). The food was fantastic I got the Milanesa (one of my favorite Argentine dishes) and it was perfect. The empanadas were also spot on, we even got a dozen to take home. I have no experience with Argentinian food but they make some pretty flavorful dishes. It looks like a total dive from the outside but that's something that I love. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It looks like a little mom and pop shop because I seem the same people when I go in. I got their pizza this last time I went in and I absolutely koved it. I got the pepperoni pizza and their style of the Hawaiian. The cheese was picture perfect, stringy as you pull it apart from the pizza. The sauce was well-seasoned and creamy, I absolutely loved it. It was so reasonably priced for the quality. Maybe it's just their way of life that carries over to the business or perhaps it's the slight language barrier -who knows, but just be aware of it if you are a fast paced person and expect prompt service. The waitress seemed impatient and irritated, even though there was only one other small group there? So minus 1 star for the bad service. The empanada was good, I should've ordered a selection of that instead of the milanesa, which was not so great. The asado was great, chicken was very tasty. I gave this restaurant a one star rating due to their business ethics and poor service. This is a shame because I thought that their food was rather good. My check came to $17.17 and I rounded the check to an even $20.00 to include a tip. After returning home, my credit card statement showed an additional .17 cents charged.($20.17) I am certainly not complaining about the amount, but rather the principle. A thief is a thief. (In this case "Ladrones Sucios") Well, at least I don't have to re-mortgage my home, but if they do this to every customer, there's going to be a nice chunk of change when it all adds up. Additionally, there was only one member of staff who you barely saw. If you needed anything else, you either had to go to the front of the restaurant to get his attention or wait 20 minutes until he decides to show up. We visited this location when an Argentinian friend came to visit. I enjoyed that it is a small business, it's always nice to visit and help out a local family rather than a large company. I got basically a meat platter and it wasn't bad, the chicken was to die for, but I didn't care much for the ribs. They really are not too busy of a place, but it seems like they are holding their own. They could use a bit of an update to the flooring and tables, but that's not a reason to not return. read more

Don't be scared off by this place's location! Definitely fits the mold of "hole in the wall", but my wife and I were looking for a place to eat after flying into SLC on our way up to Yellowstone and saw the reviews, we just had to give it a try. The menu is very plain and only has a few options, but everything we had was great. There was just the owner there working when we stopped by on a Thursday afternoon for lunch, he seated us, took our orders, and cooked everything for us as well. We each tried three different empenadas and had a side salad. The salad was just some lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, covered in some oil and vinegar, but damn it sure was tasty! You also get a loaf of bread with your order, which was fantastic on it's own, but dipping it in the oil and vinegar at the bottom of our salads made it all the better. The empenadas were all hand made and the outside crust was light and flaky, cooked just right! If I had to rank the ones we tried I'd say the top three were, 1. Ham and Cheese, 2. I feel bad for her because she had to take care of everything and it was definitely not her fault that no other staff has been hired. I ordered a Milanese and it wasn't fresh at all, in fact I could still taste a frozen bit in it. The empanadas were ok, nothing spectacular and the chimichurri was missing in the Choripan we ordered, but again the poor girl was just too overwhelmed to remember the chimichurri or the drinks we ordered. There was no lighting in the restaurant at all, and I mean no lights were turned on even though there were a ton of lightbulbs everywhere. I went here with a friend who recommended the place. I've never been to Argentina, but the look and the feel of the restaurant made me feel like I was there. This was my first time trying Argentine food so I wasn't quite sure what to order. I ended up ordering the beef Milanesa. In hindsight I should have ordered the chicken milanesa. To start off, I really liked the homemade bread. I thought that was the best part of the sandwich. However, the meat was dry and wasn't very good. The meat was basically beef jerky that was breaded and then fried... not my favorite. One friend, who came with me, had just a couple bites and was done. Plus, there were no lights on in the place, and the air conditioning was either off or not working. The appetizer is a wonderful Russian potato salad and beef tongue with tasty homemade dressing which is great for dipping their fresh baked bread in. (You can buy a bottle of the dressing to go.) I have tried the Milanesa, but it wasn't great; I've had better in Mexico. What I love there, and have had every time I've gone, are the empanadas. Delicious empanadas! I came here for lunch on a Monday. There was a couple already there when I arrived. I was pretty hesitant to come due to several negative reviews. But, I'm SO glad I did. I did come with enough time just in case it took a while. I ordered 4 empanadas. 2 ham and cheese, 1 beef, and 1 humita. OMG. They were all so delicious. The crust was the perfect flakiness and the filling was perfect. I also ordered chimichurri to go with it. It was so fresh and flavorful. A great complement. I had Brazilian guarana to drink. On my way out I grabbed a package of Rumba cookies. Yum! I can understand how this could take a while on a busy day since it was just one cook and the food is fresh. It would be worth the wait.
