This is a hidden gem! It's a beautiful coffee shop & bakery in an old shopping strip. The display case is filled with absolutely gorgeous pastries. Many of them are puff pastry based, so they do need to be eaten the same day. Their pastries would be perfect for any catered event. They also have beautiful cakes, delicious emanadas, and coffee. read more

The young man who helped me was very informative and assisted me with picking a cake and some desserts. The signs are on the cases but I have bad eyesight and the lighting is fairly low for me. It does seem like a nice place to grab a meal and a dessert. I will have to go back again and sit down. They had enough a selection left the day before thanksgiving so that was a plus because i just picked the 1st place closest and still potentially open. The red velvet cake was a hit with the family. The four stars is room for my second visit rating. read more

This place was awesome. It's very clean and well taken care of. The sweet treats they have are Muy delicioso. I haven't had a factura in 20 years. They had some pretty delicious alfajores I miss my tatin triples. The kid who served us had a ton of patience. I brought in my 3 kids who had him going everywhere in the glass display. read more

It was my first time and it WILL NOT be my last. The customer service was fairly nice, the desserts were reasonably priced for the most part and the portions were also reasonable. The empanada de pollo was good, as well as the brisket. For dessert I chose the tiramisu and the madrileños. It was quite a large quantity of caramel on the madrileños, and the tiramisu had a very strong essence of coffee (mimicking a tres leches style cake). This place is nice! read more

I went there while on a work trip this weekend. I walked in and was BLOWN AWAY by the display case! Everything looked so beautiful, and so delicious. The gentleman helping me was super helpful and friendly. I had no idea what to order so he guided me to three different desserts. I also tried the egg and spinach empanada, and a ham and cheese empanada. Both were simply amazing. I'd definitely stop in again. I wish I had not already had coffee because they're coffee. Service is incredibly friendly and fast. The selection of pastries, savory empanadas, drinks, and even fresh sandwiches was wonderful. We had an Americano, Chai latte, and two pieces of some kind of coconut pastry. The food was delicious, but also a feast for the eyes. 5 stars because on the outside it is unassuming, but they make great homemade treats / empanadas and not to mention the workers are SO NICE! You should definitely go here to support! I was picking up a small dessert for my boyfriend's bday and the person working, Francisco, was so awesome and nice! He took his time to explain every flavor cake, Argentinian dessert, and cookie to me. He was patient and very kind. After a long busy day at work, I'm so happy I stopped by here and got a mini cheesecake, and 2 of their empanadas which were delicious! Beef and chicken! I would love to return to try their coffee and other delicious looking sweets. I meant to get an alfajore cookie too (but I forgot) which makes me kinda sad but just another reason to return again! I was unsure at first because of a review I read. Obviously the person did not know what they were eating. We had delicious empanadas and yummy sweet treats!! We had the alfajores, the churros, and more. My husbands family is from Argentina and they enjoyed all the great treats we brought back to San Antonio. Been going to this place for like 10 years, they have really grown! The specialty cakes are awesome, as are the pastries. The macaroons are on my favorite. The empanadas are delicious but they have doubled in price. I definitely understand the price jack, just a bit expensive for my taste, for an empenada and nothing else. Also, if they're not fresh hot, vs reheated hot, they can be hard due to the dough they use. I'm not a fan of the sandwiches, way too much mayonnaise on everything, but they sell a lot of them. I go for the coffee, always the best latte. Same price as starbucks but way tastier and stronger. New staff is definitely friendlier. read more

Timing is everything at this bakery. I've had some great visits and some not so great visits. This review is based on those great visits. The empanadas are the main attraction, even more popular than the desserts. I personally love the brisket empanadas more than any other empanada in Irving. I try different desserts each time and I don't have a clear favorite. Great lattes! Overall, I love going here. read more

Haven't been back here for awhile but they have great savory empanadas (beef/egg, spinach egg, chicken, ham&cheese). It seems ro have gotten more busy as I see many people enjoying their coffees or frappes. This time I got a hot maya mocha and it had a strong taste if spice that I cannot identify. We were visiting the restaurant next door and thought I would pop in for a peak. Geez, what a find! I had no idea that Argentineans were baker masters. You should see this showcase of the most beautifully prepared cakes and candies. The cakes are pieces of art and look way too pretty to eat. I didn't try a slice but next time I'm in the neighborhood you can bet I will! Instead, hubs picked out some yummy cookies and I chose a delicious cake-like petit four. However, I didn't understand what the card said so not sure exactly what it was. The inside was dark wood with leather covered seating - very inviting and warm. GARBAGE. I paid hundreds of dollars for cakes for my job and they look completely TERRIBLE. I AM BEYOND MORTIFIED. Then, when I voiced my concern, the lady pretty much told me it was my fault. I ordered cakes and told them to "make them pretty". Gave them a sticker of our decor to copy. This is what I received. The cakes in their display look immaculate, this doesn't even belong in their store. The logo is crooked. The calligraphy is uneven. Kroger does better. If you plan to order, bring EXACTLY what you want done and don't trust their artists. I cannot comment on the taste, as I haven't tried it yet. But the presentation is horrible at best. read more

I had to give this place a try, because my husband works nearby and has raved about it ever since he first tried it! Parking lot is spacious & this bakery is located right in the Irving Towne Center shopping strip, so it's hard to miss. Their sign outside stands out as they have a nice bright yellow sun to help the white font draw your attention. The outside is very unassuming. The windows are completely tinted, so you can't really see indoors. As soon as you open the door, you feel like you're walking into a portal & a small town bakery in the streets of Argentina is on the other side. The interior lighting is a little dark, so it sets the mood right away as a nice cafe vibe. They are playing Spanish music quietly, so the background atmosphere is very nice. The first display you see when you walk in is their beautiful cakes, then their sweet pastries, then their sandwiches, and then right next to the corner register, you reach their empanadas! They have a nice big electronic coffee menu right above the register. Great visibility. Staff was so friendly & they were very patient with me since it was my first time here. I had no idea where to start. I got their L iced chai latte, a few sweets, and 3 empanadas. After I paid, I got in the car with my kids and we went to town on the goodies. ...let me just put it this way; I got BOTH KIDS BACK OUT OF THEIR CAR SEATS AND WENT BACK INSIDE TO ORDER MORE. I got 6 more empanadas (to share with my husband and for later) & a different iced latte & some juice for the kids!!! Now I know why my husband loves this place. Their food quality is phenomenal. Amazing little cafe and bakery! We had empanadas for lunch and they were moist and flavorful with just a hint of spice in a flaky crust! The beef and cheese, chicken and beef and egg were all great! We had a cream and strawberry tarte and a piece of ricotta tarte for dessert and they were both great! Not too sweet but very creamy and flavorful! The empanadas here are delicious, flaky, well seasoned, and when they say spicy, they mean it! The desserts are tasty too, if a bit too sweet, but I think that's the way they're meant to be. So if you like your sweets sweet, the textures are all on point, at least. Flaky stuff is flaky, cake is moist, etc. Service is friendly and fast. The coffee is fine, not amazing, but the bitterness is great to balance out the sweetness of the desserts. The wifi wasn't working, but there are outlets and plenty of seating, so it'd be a decent place to work if the wifi was working! They play moderately loud music inside, but it's quiet enough to have conversations or do work. I wish we had one of these closer to home! read more

It had red bell pepper in it, again under seasoned so there wasn't anything marrying the ingredients They did serve both entrees with a mini muffin which was really good hence the 2 stars. I visited Argentina Bakery last month with my family and some friends and we had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the pastries were delicious and fresh. We tried the alfajores, empanadas, medialunas and croissants and they were all amazing. The coffee was also very good and strong. The bakery was clean and cozy with a nice atmosphere. My favorite was the chicken empanada. Flaky buttery exterior but moist, flavorful interior. Perfection. They're small and less than $2 each so I'd recommend getting a couple for a full meal. I'm Colombia so I've always thought our empanadas are better than the Argentinians but the empanadas at Argentina Bakery were SO GOOD. I had the beef & egg and the chicken empanadas and they had so much delicious flavor and the proportion of filling and crust was good. My mom and I also tried their desserts and they were incredible. When she spoke with me, she treated me like I was the only one in the busy restaurant which is a tough skill to master. After checking out I also felt like there wasn't much room to stand & wait. I was really sad because I saw someone got a biscoff coffee. If I knew that was on the menu that's what I would've gotten. The menu was very limited. More signage would be a great modification. The coffee was good just a little expensive especially with modifications. The baked goods were a little too dry for me unfortunately. I think if you're local, this is a great place to get coffee. I'm just not sure I'd go out of my way again.
