Came back to HeyBings a year later and it's still just as good as I remember!…read more This time I got the Strawberry and the Small Injeolmi shaved ice. I really wanted to get the Mango again, but unfortunately they were out so it wasn't available. Still, I loved both flavors we got! The Strawberry was my favorite. I loved that there were actual layers of strawberry and shaved ice throughout instead of just having the fruit on top. Both were also topped with a small scoop of ice cream, which was such a nice touch. Everything was refreshing and not overly sweet, so it made for a perfect dessert after dinner. Seating is pretty limited, but we got lucky and found a table that fit all 4 of us. If you're coming with a larger group, it might be a little harder to find a table, especially during a busy time. Definitely still worth coming back for, and I'll be keeping an eye out for when the Mango flavor comes back!

Decided to stop here for bingsoo, since I've had it saved on my Yelp for a while and have been meaning to check it out. Good plaza at the corner of Fairview/Baker near Harbor Blvd. Pretty convenient location, same plaza as Eats Sushi, which I went to with coworkers last year. Ambiance is nice inside, but this was very obviously a pet-friendly place and it smelled like it too, especially in the restroom. Service - acceptable. Food - we ordered a large black sesame bingsoo. It was my friend's first time ever having a black sesame dessert. It was so good, we both really enjoyed it. It was so perfect and just hit the spot! The red bean, mochi, and almonds with the black sesame bingsoo all went together spectacularly. Such an amazing taste experience. Would definitely recommend this bingsoo spot, and may check out the Irvine location next time!

The line was…read morepretty intimidating, esp for a Sunday night (it was a holiday weekend though, so that might have been a big factor as to why it was so busy there that night)...but even with the long line, it went by pretty quick. Love the simple decor and vibe of this place. You can see the churros being made to order, which is cool. Ordered a bunch of churros for our group; the condensed milk is def my favorite dipping sauce, but the chocolate and I think the other one is caramel...is good too. Tried to eat all the churros we ordered cuz I don't like them when they're not fresh. So needless to say, I was pretty filled up with churros by the time we were done. The milk chocolate shake and choco milk were a hit with the kids as well. Not a TON of tables and chairs to eat right where the spot is at, esp with a big group, but there are tables inside Northgate..again, if it's not crazy busy, you should be able to find a spot. It was towards the end of the night when we hit up El Moro, so we all moved our cars close together in the lot in front of where the churreria is located and hung out there. Parking - It's the Northgate market, so it can get crazy busy, esp during dinner time. Service - Very friendly and patient, esp since it was our first time there.

We chose the morritos (bite-sized churros) at first, but the regular sized ones are much better! These were crunchier and had a good amount of sugar and sweetness to them. They are worth a try if you're in the area!

I'm Filipino and was tickled to hear about the flavors...Ube Pandesal Toffee, Banana Turon Crunch & Mango Sticky Rice. We tried the Ube Pandesal Toffee and I'm quite amazed how they were able to capture that unique flavor. I grew up with making an "ice cream" sandwich by putting ice cream in a pandesal and tasting this just unleashed a core memory of being young and making an ice cream sandwich that way. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors! When we arrived there was a few people in line and when the line grew a bit, I think it was a manager that stopped what he was doing to jump in and help with customers which I thought was very considerate of him to do. Lastly, the location was charming and tucked away in the corner of the plaza. It had a few tables outside and in the adjacent Pop Pie shop to sit for a few minutes to enjoy the ice cream! It's nice to support a small businesses that cater to the community! Good luck to the Stella Jean family...wishing you success! I'll be back for my Turon & sticky rice!

Simple enough, right? I thought I was going to be in and out of there within five minutes tops, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I walked into their ice cream parlor and was immediately overwhelmed with what seemed like a million different variations of HOW you can order those four flavors. You can get them as a milkshake, a sherbet (???), in a cup, in a cone, in a banana split, in a banana bowl, as a Stricklands old fashion, as a cooler (root beer float), and so much more. The possibilities are truly endless (it's an LED menu and I genuinely have no idea what will be on display tomorrow, lol). We loved their banana flavor ice cream that we sampled, but ended up getting their cherry blossom sundae instead because I'm a sucker for novelty. I'll admit that the "special limited time offer" signage is what got me. It cost $8.00 for the size small and the portion was perfect for two people to share. Their hot apple crumb cake sounded delicious as well, but that will probably be reserved for a future visit!

Every first day of the month they release their flavor calendar in which I map out which days I'll make a stop to the shop. My favorite flavors are their Asian twists such as Lychee, Pandan, jackfruit, and taro. These familiar tastes paired with their creamy soft serve-like ice cream, are a home run! I come back at least once a month. You can't forget about their milkshakes, the banana is 10/10 and tastes just like a fresh banana. The shop is really small and doesn't have any official tables or anything so it's more of a grab and go kind of place. The staff is always helpful and have provided us with samples when we were unsure about a flavor. Often times you'll see the owner manning the shop as well! A quaint family joint that deserves more love in my book!

I highly recommend if you're not into crowds. There was only one person ahead of me and ordering was super easy through the kiosk. I went with the matcha and the hokkaido milk swirl on a cone. First bite, I tried the milk side on its own, and I loved how light it was. Not overly sweet. Then I tried the matcha by itself. It tasted earthy and had that matcha flavor. When I combined the swirl together , the matcha definitely took the spotlight. It kind of overpowered the milk swirl but I didn't mind it because I'm a matcha lover. It still balanced out nicely. Just more on the earthy matcha side. Oh, and let's not forget about the waffle cone. It was perfectly crunchy and tasted so good with my soft served. Also, shoutout to the employee who handed me my order. He was super friendly, welcoming, and all smiles which always makes the experience better.

Food court quality here just feels like overpriced carnival festival foods just stealing your money.

My go-to flavors are the white chocolate macadamia, oatmeal raisin, toffee crunch & lemon blueberry cookies. A single cookie is $2.75, which IMO, is a pretty fair price these days ~ especially since they're a generous size. Since everything is baked fresh daily, the cookies are always soft, fresh and absolutely delicious. It's cool that they offer handmade ice cream and different flavored farm fresh milks, as well. The Order: * My Go-To: I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. * Variety: They have every flavor of milk, ice cream, and cookies you could want. Timing & Atmosphere: * Avoid Weekends: I would not recommend coming here on a weekend. The store is tiny, and because it's right next to all the bars, the area gets crowded with a lot of drunk people. If that isn't your scene, stick to a weekday visit. * Rewards: It is quite expensive, but it's a nice treat. Plus, you can sign up with your phone number to get discounts for future visits. The Parking Situation: * Virtually Non-Existent: There is no parking lot, so you are stuck looking for small spots along the side of the road. * Accessibility: There is no designated handicap parking, so keep that in mind if you aren't prepared to walk a bit from a side street. Final Verdict: It's a perfect weekday spot for a warm dessert, just be prepared for the peninsula parking struggle!
