I was so sad when Bubba Sweets closed bc I was a regular there. And then I saw that Classic Cake was going to start selling baked goods in the shop, I had been shopping there for years for my own baking needs and the employees are so nice. When I saw their cupcakes I thought they looked like Bubba Sweets, but when I tasted them I was like no way their better then Bubba sweets!! My favorite is the blueberry cheesecake cupcakes! Bought some cupcakes here for Easter. I guess this is a new addition to their collection of baking goods and supplies. I got several different flavors . All great the cake is soft and the buttercream is no joke! Yum . I would recomend letting the cupcakes (that are refrigerated when you order in advance ) come to room temperature . I will be sure to visit this shop again to look at all the glitter and sprinkles and molds ! So pass it along and let out this best kept neighberhood secret! read more

Saw this place on Instagram and just had to try it. I am so glad I did because the cupcakes are AMAZING! I went back and bought a couple of dozen for the office and people loved them - I had more cupcakes than coworkers so thought I'd have some to take home, but every single cupcake was gone by the afternoon. When I went there, I was the only customer, and wasn't greeted at all, ironically they have a sign outside that says "we are so happy you are here" , it doesn't seem like it. I grabbed a couple of items and I hear a voice asking "are you ready?" I said yes, lady says nothing, scans items and asks "so just these two items?" In an upset tone, I said yes, I pay with my phone and she says They don't take debit cards. She's chewing gum the entire time, she asked me if I had the physical card (which I unfortunately didn't at the moment) but oh boy she really lacks customer service. I mean the store is already empty and you treat customers like that? This isn't the first time I buy here unfortunately I have to come here when Im in need of cupcake boxes but I have never posted a review for them before. Terrible customer service. Read the reviews on google they're far more honest than the ones here. read more

I've been going to this place for years. I was done shopping & had put my items on the counter & was immediately scolded about not putting my items on the counter. I stopped & looked around & thought was she talking to me??? Yelling at customers is beyond RUDE!!! It cost nothing to be KIND. I have spent lots of money at this store. And drive 45 minutes to get there to be treated & talked to like that is inexcusable. There are plenty of other store around. I believe small businesses should be supported & that's why I shopped there. I have referred a lot of people to the store. But not anymore I won't. Over 25 years of happiness and creativity. That's what Classic Cake has given me. Oh, I can't forget friendships. I've met some pretty amazing people here over the years. Who would've thought I would get all that from a place I go to "just to buy" all of my candy, cookie and cake supply needs?! They also offer classes. If you ever want to learn, cake decorating, cookie decorating, cake pops, chocolate making...THIS is the place to go. And after all that learning you can buy all you need to make that right here. Customer service is always great and very helpful. Just don't be afraid to ask questions. Oh and they have a reward program. Just type in your number. It keeps track of your purchase amount. So, dollars spent add up to rewards that you can accumulate or use whenever you have enough rewards available. I love supporting small family owned businesses and this by far is one of my favorites. read more

New location. Same friendly staff. The new place is HUGE! Almost twice the square footage of the old place. Owner says she holds classes during the day & evenings. She also makes customs cakes too! MIL was able to pick up her chocolate candy ingredients easily. See you in a couple months for our holiday candy making bags. read more

I bought peppermint, coconut, lemon and maple flavor oils last Friday and I used the peppermint oil to make candy cane cookies. The cookies were a success with the right flavor of peppermint with just a quarter teaspoon of peppermint oil. The red color drops I bought were the best as my colored red dough did not stain my hands or my work surface. This confirms my opinion of the high quality of the products sold by Classic Cakes. In addition, we sell ready-to-eat cupcakes and can make custom cupcakes. Our supplies are quite expensive including pans, cake supplies, candy supplies, cupcake supplies and cookie supplies, as well as edible images and recipe information. In addition, we offer classes to learn how to make cakes at the beginner and intermediate level. We also offer classes for fondant cakes, cupcake decorating, and our seasonal Halloween and holiday candy demonstrations. Established in 1977.

Classic Cake has been a part of the Garden Grove community since opened our doors in 1977. After coming in for many years as a customer, then transitioning to a Class Cake Decorations Employee, current owner Nancy and her husband Larry purchased the business in 1989. Today, the store continues to be family owned and operated and we are happy to be a part of its success!

Meet the Manager: Jim S.

My Mom purchased this business in 1987. She had years of experience and a true passion for helping others learn how to bake delicious desserts! While my mom is no longer with us, it's still family owned and operated. Our store manager Tonya is her daughter-in-law and has nearly 2 decades of experience in baking. Our number one goal is to provide the best possible customer service, so please let us know what we can do to improve our service to you, our loyal customer.

The prices are pretty decent and fair, some highly priced due to them being imported but many of them being on par with other like shops in places like the Original Farmers Market in LA. The associates were friendly and helpful. I ended up buying some chocolates and cookies. I would definitely come back if I am ever at Old World again.

This is, first and foremost, my go-to place for edible printing. Their prices are reasonable, they've never rejected any image file that I've sent them, and the printed sheet is usually available for pick-up long before the advertised time. They also have a very large selection of reusable, non-edible decorations (far more than what's shown on their web site, both as kits and as individual pieces), as well as a large selection of basic edible decorations, cookie cutters, and other items. Their people are always helpful and friendly (the last time I was in, the young woman on duty was giving advice to a customer who was clearly new to cake decorating). The place is clean, well-lit, and well-organized. As an amateur, it would not be cost-effective for me to do my own edible printing (the cartridges would dry out long before I used them up, even if I also used them for general printing), and so I always farm it out. Over the years since I learned that it was even possible to farm out edible printing, I've dealt with perhaps as many as a dozen different shops, some of them easy to get to, others not so easy. Most of the ones I'd use more than once are long-gone. This is the best I've ever worked with. read more

I have been shopping here for years and everyone is so friendly and kind. Just finished my first ever cake decorating class and Tanya was a fantastic teacher. She made the class not only a time of learning but a time to have fun. I loved it and will be taking more classes. I took the candy class years ago and still make the candy every year at Christmas. I have taken the cookie class and that was amazing and fun. If you want to learn how to decorate cakes, make candy, and cookies then this is place to come to. Love these girls. read more

I've been coming here on and off for over 10 years. Recently though, I've needed to come here on a few occasions and each time the folks have been very helpful. They seem to have most baking essentials, at least for this novice. Its a family owned business - and Im always in support of small business'. Next time your recipe calls for some interesting food coloring or plastic turkey's to top your cupcakes, give them a try! Even if you don't find what you need, you'll def find other goodies. read more

Flavors to pick from are great They have a huge variety. I'm so bummed I got there too late and missed out on their coconut cupcake and they had a pistachio one!! She even suggested a few ideas since I'm not super creative. She also worked around our super obnoxious football wedding topper and it still looked great! She was very professional and on the day of, she took care of everything flawlessly with my coordinator. We mainly intended on having pies because my husband doesn't really even like cake but this cake was different. Honestly probably the best cake we've ever had and it we couldn't even bring ourselves to freeze it. We fought over who got to eat what was left of it.
