Beautiful little restaurant in Bountiful. Good, flavorful pizza and salads, and good kids' menu. They also serve beer and wine! And have a TV, which came in handy for watching the NCAA playoffs. The one star is for the pizza, which yes, is yummy. However, service is what matters and this place seriously lacks it. After reading the other yelp reviews I chose to call in an order and pick it up. 20 minutes after ordering my husband runs in to grab the pizza. 30 minutes after that I had to go in after him. 20 mins after that we were finally able to leave with pizza in hand, & no discount. To recap: 1) pizza not ready at the 20-minute mark like they said it would be. 2) after discovering they had either forgotten or messed up our order, it took another 30 minutes for them to - you guessed it - still not have the pizza ready. 3) did I mention at this point they gave us the wrong receipt to pay? And we are the ones who noticed, not them. 4) an hour and ten minutes after ordering one large pizza, success! 5) making and cooking pizzas is just too complicated for this place. Took a chance on a Friday night at this new place without any idea what to expect. If you're expecting an average pizza parlor with the basics, go elsewhere. They have a few inventive pizzas, quality and tasty ingredients, a nice selection of salads that are a little pricey and not much of a pasta selection. I believe they have the best beer selection in davis county. Arella is most definitely a "girl's night" kind of place. The menu is an array of pastas, pizza and salad. Garden salad is $6.99? Seems a little insane for watery iceberg lettuce... Started with an order of garlic bread. A wimpy and dry bread was what we were met with. Seriously unimpressive given the chic feel of this place. It reminded me of the preprepared garlic bread you buy at the supermarket. Against the advice of the server (worst up-sell of a menu item I've ever seen) I ordered the Arella pizza. A delightfully strange combination of bleu cheese, mozzarella, gorgonzola, pecans and pears topped with arugula. Really tasty, might be a bit sweet for some. But after glancing at my fellow diners sloppy and cold ravioli and over sauced alfredo, I was definetly glad I didn't listen to the unadventerous server. This pizza is the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars. It was delightful. For dessert I ordered the chocolate calzone. A disgusting sloppy mess of a thing. Pizza dough wrapped around chocolate and cream cheese? Oozing grease and separating fats. Bleh. Don't be tempted by the description. It is gross! Most disappointing was the service. The place was way overstaffed, a bunch of folks twiddling their thumbs while we tried to flag down anyone that would pay attention to us. Love this place for a flavorful lunch. From the pear and pecan salad to the chicken-bacon-alfredo pizza to the zepponis for dessert, there's at least one thing on the menu that you'll seriously enjoy. Atmosphere is modern and open. I ordered a take out order from Arella. My usual pecan pear salad (lena style which is supposed to include more toppings and greens). I was disappointed. The portion sizes for dining in and taking out are not consistent. I paid $30 for 2 salads that could've been combined to be one full meal for one person. I am a fan of their salad but the pizza is not anything to write home about. I've been disappointed with their pasta as well. Normally favorite pizza in all salt lake valley and north. The last trip and this one take out ordering has been very difficult. I wanted kalamata olives on two pizzas she said sure but with hesitation I asked if they had the purple olives. Se said sure their just black I don't want regular black. How about green. Ok. So you have green olives. Sure they are just the black ones I stop and pick up order. Sitting on counter a take out menu guess what kalamata and green olives both listed on newly folded take out menu I pick up my three pizzas only to be told I'm still waiting on my wings. I've lived in Italy, owned a restaurant, and love calzones and pizzas. There are utility pizzas when you want a pizza belly and don't really care what it tastes like. Arella's is not one of these. I place their calzone at the 2nd best in the world outside of Italy. First goes to Pete's in Spokane (the original Pete's near Gonzaga). My wife and I walked into this attractive, modern restaurant, sat at the bar, enjoyed a wine from a surpisingly good wine list, watched what was going out to other tables, and then decided to order. My wife had the chicken wing pizza. This was one ROCKIN' pizza! Outstanding. The crust is p e r f e c t. I tried to get some idea of the making of the crust out of the gentleman manning the oven, but failed. I want my pizza crust to be like this. I had a calzone. Actually....I had two calzones. It was so FRICKIN' good that, after eating my first one, I ordered the very same thing and took it home for lunches later that week. The service was outstanding. I asked for, and received a little marinara and olive oil to put over the top of the calzone (as is usually done in Italy). The gentleman on the oven was very knowledgeable and very, very good. I went in to this restaurant straight. Upon me being seated, I felt as if I were wearing those pointless tight @$$ girl pants that dudes wear now and almost mildly gay. I was told the decor was "modern" as was the food and portions of said food being labeled "modern" also. The place isn't so much a pizzeria as it is an establishment trying to be a downtown New York restaurant with similar pricing and similar portions of food which just happens to be located in a conservative yet overly religious Mormon city.. HOWEVER, despite higher prices and smaller quantities and a WAY too expensive priced bruschetta, the food was very tasty and fresh with a zest, plus the service was of a top quality. The wine list caught me off guard mainly because Arellas had wine (see above Mormon comment) and it wasn't a bad selection per se. I was really surprised to see such a contemporary interior in Davis County. The mainstay is pizza, which is a good thing. They have a real pizza oven. The pizza is a really good thin crust. This is probably the closest thing to getting pizza from Little Italy in New York. Thin chewy crust with the brick oven taste. I recommend getting the Combination pizza. The added basil really makes the pizza aromatic and tasty. For a appetizer, I got the garlic brea which was really good. The bread was nice and fluffy in the inside and crunchy on the outside. The amount of butter and garlic is perfect without making it feel drenched. For the price it's really worth going. I would not recommend getting the large though since it was hard to hold. read more

I have been happy every time I've eaten here. The best thing is the specialty salad which is not on the menu. And the classic pizza is my fave. Our crust has never been soggy like seta bello and the service is always good and we never have to wait. The chocolate calzone is seriously soooo good. If you're hoping for the Davis County Settebello, you will be disappointed.
