My wife heard about this place on Facebook and wanted to go. I couldn't imagine going there to eat as I knew the place (I thought). To my surprise the place I knew had been torn down and a new building stood in its place. It has burgers, BBQ and breakfast. If you ever eat there once it will be a regular destination place to go eat. Keep in mind this is a convenience store / gas station / grill with Inside and outside seating. They also serve bloody Marys with bacon. read more

Food is Good and staff are friendly but they seem to always be closed. Is very frustrating to drive so the way down there to find them closed. Closed. Very early in the evenings was for a gas station and restaurant. And they have many residences that live near them that would use them. read more

A bit too greasy but excellent service, clean, really good food, clean and updated. A very nice place for breakfast. read more

This was a great find, the burgers are as good as you can get! Service was old school great and fast!! Real Deal !! I'm going back this week!

The food is very tasty. We are happy they are back open. There's a nice patio for outdoor seating.

Very good food. Spent a month on the lake and the was the preferred "go back" place multiple times. Intended to try one of their steaks but didn't make it that far on the menu. One of several good places to eat in Shell Knob. I was pleasantly surprised! read more

Now known as The Lake Shack. Great food freshly made. Breakfast, lunch much and dinner. Call in ahead, sit inside or order online. Love this place. read more

What a difference a year makes. This has been our go to for quite sometime, but now they've branched out and built another location in Branson. It appears the people left in charge now are not the same as before. The food quality has taken a drastic decline. We will continue to go here for drinks and ice cream, but we won't be back for food anymore. read more

Was surprised this morning, when we arrived just before 10 for breakfast. We were told that the wait would be 45 minutes. When I asked why their answer was, "when people order food the wait gets longer" another employee shouted from the back, "and breakfast takes longer" Even with distancing the place was not half full. We have always felt Area 71 was happy to see us until today. read more

So sad. Used to be a nice family place with good food. Now just gambling machines. Miss the old sweet place.

Interesting little place! A gas station converted into a sit-in restaurant, with outside seating available. The convenience store element is still in operation as well, with drinks, supplies, and snacks still for purchase. Upon entering, orders can be placed at the counter, and food is brought out to your table. We had pancakes, a breakfast burrito, and a French toast sandwich. Everything was good, but nothing stood out as better than another breakfast joint. Coffee is self serve at the drink island (the same as it would be at a gas station), which took us a while to figure out. Warm syrup and condiments are set up on the island as well. It's a neat concept, service was very friendly, but it does just feel a bit like eating regular diner food inside a gas station. read more

Friendly service but PLEASE get the order right! It's so frustrating anyway because of the way the world is now. My order is all wrong. The wrong cheese on both orders. No condiments. Nothing on my sandwich but lettuce and a few slices of tomato. No napkins. We have to eat in the car! I always leave a tip but this time you didn't deserve it read more

Stopped by for the Famous Banana Split. But they had been so good there were no more bananas left this late on weekend. Had to "settle" for Turtle Sundae on Sunday. Heavens-to-Betsy it was good! And big. And good and big and cold. We dined outside and it is a nice 87° with coolish breeze. Butterscotch syrup on whipped cream, laced with hot fudge to the bottom and perfect roasted pecans. Saved the Maraschino Cherry till mid-way through.....one has to learn to pace one's self. Got a mini-brain freeze 1/2 thru so need to re-pace. The Mo heat melted the frozen custard in the bottom but when swirled with the now cooled hot fudge and pecans the brew became a nectar of the Gods. I am satiated for a bit, but now longing for the BS. Will return. read more

Great burgers and sandwiches! Love the hot ham and cheese, and the Philly Cheese! Staff is always friendly and attentive. Good mixed drinks, Bloody Marys are great. I also like their Root Beer floats! We'll be back! Clean RRs. read more

Nice place with outdoor seating, ice cream and adult beverages. Food is good and imaginative for a burger place. Always nice and clean.

Absolutely horrible. Hamburger "grab to go" soggy, fries not even edible. Can get a better burger at Casey's for half the price. Would suggest looking elsewhere till they go back to fresh made. Worst decision ever to go cheap on quality read more

The buffet sucks there's 4 options and none are good Staff is very rude I don't recommend this place at all read more

Staff are super nice. But unfortunately they don't offer meat alternatives. I ordered a taco salad without meat & they didn't reduce the price. Paid nearly $8.00 for a very sad taco salad read more

Fast, friendly service. Delicious burgers. Outdoor seating, which is dog friendly and a playground for the kiddos.

Originally stopped by this new c-store because my truck was thirsty for some ethanol free gas. As I walked in to pay, I notice a nice big clean, new kitchen and asked "what's for dinner"? The pretty gal behind the counter suggested their special that day...a crab salad sandwich with Provolone on some sort of pita looking bread. She gave me a sample taste of the crab salad, it was very tasty, so I told her to fire me one up! The sandwich was extremely good and they also grilled me up some fresh squash and cucumber as a healthy side option instead of the fries. Looks like the owner has big plans for a nice RV park, pool, etc., next door...should really be a good spot once completed. I will be back... read more

Fun little place, good burgers and shakes. Service was lacking when we were there, however I think they had a staffing issue, we will be back to give it another try read more

Elevated 21st century postmodern Americana gas station chic. A diamond in the rough. Recommend.

First time coming here. Really impressed with the food and variety of the food. Not just a fried food joint. Price is reasonable and good quality. Clean and good service. Outdoor area looks nice and peaceful during warm months. Worth stopping...we will be back. read more

Helpful and friendly staff, delicious breakfast fair prices and wonderful atmosphere . Enjoyed breakfast with the family today. Saw many other guests enjoying the buffet but we decided to order from the menu. Egg white veggie omelet, pancakes and ham were some of the items ordered. Pancakes are light and fluffy, omelet had fresh veggies, thick cut of grilled ham all was delicious. Abundance of beverages to select from except no hot tea. Please consider adding Tazo teas. Family friendly, large or small groups. Been a part time resident in SK for 10+ years. This establishment is a welcome treat! read more

This place surprised me, it is a lot more than a gas station/convenient store! The have a selection of food they make (right there in front of you), and it is top notch! I was expecting a soda and slice of hours old pizza, but instead I've eaten real meals from here. read more

Ordered chicken strips & mozzarella sticks. The place was mostly empty, so we assumed it wouldn't take too long. 45 min later and they hadn't even started on our order, so we just walked out. Definitely won't be back. read more

This is the only place to eat in SK! We ate here twice. Both times were excellent. Breakfast Burrito, Waffle, Biscuits and gravy. Cookies were perfect. This place has a Chef not a Fry Cook. Will come back again and again to try the Whole Menu read more
