Pastrami burgers--who knew? I saw these on a lot of SLC-area menus, but I finally pulled the trigger at this Arctic Circle and was not disappointed. I was torn between that and the mushroom swiss burger but I did not want to miss this (apparent) regional specialty. Ground beef and pastrami and swiss cheese work well together. B+ on the burger. They might have the best fast-food onion rings anywhere. The fries are good too. Their fry sauce was oranger and tangier than the stuff that I had at The Counter in SLC. I wonder what goes into this stuff... Their shakes are misnamed--they are thick and must be eaten with a spoon. I got a mint Oreo version and it was exactly like a Dairy Queen Blizzard. Delicious, but I was planning to drink it as I drove. That doesn't work when you need both hands to negotiate the cup and spoon. Two more things--the tables were dirty despite the staff having apparent down time, and this restaurant has no restrooms, unless they are unlabelled and accessed through the kitchen. read more

First the good stuff: The wait was not bad, the location was convenient, even through construction on the roads around it was annoying. Everything else: The servers did not seem to be enjoying their job, which I don't blame them, it's called work for a reason. As a customer though it doesn't make you happy to go to a place where people would rather not deal with you at all. The food is what drove me away for good. I was on the hunt for a new burger spot since I just moved here and this place was not up to snuff. Unfortunately the food tasted like it had been sitting out for a bit before we got there, like maybe it was left over from a lunch rush or something. It wasn't hot, or juicy or even good. It tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for the last few hours, which is not pleasant. We really like Arctic Circle, but not sure how competent the workers are at this location. We went through the drive thru and used the "2 Cheese Burger Combo for $4.99" coupon, minus pickles on the burgers. We also ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. When we got the food and receipt, the receipt said $6.55 (that was before tax too) for the $4.99 combo. I physically gave them the coupon and she said it was already applied to my order. The 2 cheese burgers both had pickles on them even though the receipt explicitly says no pickles for the burgers. Lastly, the Swiss burger bun was pretty much soaked in grease.. 2 stars for the ice cream and the nice employees! read more

I love me some Ranch Burger! If it's fast food you're craving go try Arctic Circle. They are local and super yummy. The fry sauce is so good! heyalso have really good shakes. Very rude service. For 2 years we have supported this local restaurant by stopping by several times a week for ice cream/shakes/quick bite. We even found out they sold bags of ice. So instead of supporting the big box stores we would prefer to stop in and buy our ice here. We always had to inform the younger staff that ice was something they sold. So when we stopped in today we figured this would be no different. However, because they sold their franchise back to corporate about 6 weeks ago they took this option out of the register. Well, instead of just politely explaining this they rudely stated we don't sell ice but the gas station does buy it from them. I will be more hesititant to stop in to support this location in the future. read more

I grew up on Arctic Circle food and thought it was the best fast-food in the area. That is sadly no longer the case. I have eaten at Arctic Circles several times and in 2 different locations in the past 6 months, ordering totally different items each time and they were frankly awful! The buns are some weird thing that reminds me of sawdust, the chicken in the chicken burger was coated in something equally nasty so I had to try to scrape off the coating and remove the bun on the other sandwich. I ordered a Sprite and the drink had a really funny taste so I poured it down the drain. French fries are limp, not crisp the way they were when growing up. I don't know what has happened to the food, but I would find another place to eat. The food at Arctic Circle is no longer worth the money! read more

Ok there's two locations in Ogden but I forget which one cuz I'm not from around these parts so I played eenie meenie miny moe here.. But let me just say this, There are amazing burgers to be had here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I first had these in Oregon and it became a childhood favorite so when I saw a sign for Arctic Circle off the Interstate I said HELL TO THE YES, I'm stopping for it. Must haves is the mushroom swiss burger, ranch burger, regular small burgers and french fries. These are not your normal half ass fast food hamburgers. These burgers are magical and that might be an understatement. Damn it are their fries good. This is also the home of the famous fry sauce that resembles thousand island dressing but it's not! I tried to mimic it at home but no, it's not just ketchup and mayo either.. they add something else like crack to it to make it taste irresistible. They sell the stuff too by the way in their restaurants. They only have locations in the pacific nw and rocky mountain areas by the way. Please support your local utah location, these are based in Utah and I'd hate for them to become extinct, being over run by McDonald's or Jack in the Crack. read more

I took my brother there, they used to have the best fries to go with the best fry sauce. Now they use "Yukon Gold" which everyone knows is not a potato for frying. I think they saw how catchy "black Angus" was for burgers and used the name Yukon gold as a sort of gimmick, rather than taste. The hamburger is 3/4 of an inch from reaching the edge of the bun. The fish is high priced but good halibut, but sometimes cod is just best for sandwiches. I want the Arctic Circle of 1975. That was a good burger and fries!!! read more

Every time I come here we spend 10-20 minutes waiting for anything. We simply come for the ice cream cones, and that takes ages.

Be sure to try the halibut....delicious in all it's fried glory! The food is good and the service is fast. The people working there are nice and even added an extra piece of halibut no charge because the pieces I had ordered seemed small to them I was told. It was nice. The restaurant was clean and has a nice family-friendly feel to it. It could have been a little cooler in there and that's generally how it is which is why I took off one star. It's always a bit too warm in the summer for some reason. Anyway, it's a good place to go so give it a try! read more

This was my favorite burger chain as I was growing up. I've been going here for 40 years. I can't give it five stars though because the Ranch Burger isn't as good as it used to be. They changed it. Also the Bounty Burger is no longer on the menu. It's still probably the best of the chain joints around here. Not as good as it was back in the day though. They will call the cops on you if you don't like your order they give you! This was literally they worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Until today we use to love this place. We would go there as a family at least once a month and enjoy their fries and shakes. I will never be going back again. When we got our order tonight, they messed it all up. Now that is understandable that mistake happen. No big deal, but when we went to try and get it fixed at the counter, they told us we had messed up and told them something different. How do you mess up on ordering a shake flavor and fries. We then politely asked again if they would just fix our order. They said we would have to pay for a new order. Really. So we said no thank you. They then told us if we were going to pay for a new order we had to leave or they would call the cops on us. We thought they were joking and the kids sat down to eat what they had given us. Guess what, they really did call the cops. How ridiculous and embarrassing to have to pack up with my 6 year old son and his little cousins because of a high school age manager was am absolute jerk. I LOVE their chocolate-vanilla twist cones! I HATE having to order from their drive -thru sign, however, because there is usually too much background noise from all of the traffic on Washington Blvd, for the cashier (working the drive -thru window), to hear what I am saying/ordering. Most of the time, they request that I pull straight up to the window and order there instead, AFTER already spending 3-4 minutes trying to order at their sign. I've actually skipped the sign all together a few time, driving right up to the pick -up window to submit my order (thinking it would save all of us the headache, hassle, and a little bit if time, only to be greeted with glares, or looks of confusion by the drive -thru staff. Most of them eventually seem to understand, and don't seem bothered by it, while others just put off this vibe that says "Why not just walk inside to order, if you're going to skip the sign outside and come straight to the window?!". Oh well, maybe they will all catch on one day. I love their ice cream cones too much to let a minor issue like that, stop me from enjoying that cold sugary goodness! read more
