Where to start? I was supposed to be signed up for a "summerizing" of my swamp cooler, but the clamp on the water line for the valve to the cooler did leak at first. (it stopped later) So the cooler tech called the plumbing specialist for the company to come out and have a look. He immediately wanted to sell me a new water heater upon seeing the setup in the garage. The quote was over 3K and another option was about 4K. I was not sure about this so I had a second plumbing company come out to assess, and he said I don't need a new water heater at this time, but if I wanted one, it would be less than half the amount quoted by Arctic Air. The valve replacements would also be half the price. What the Arctic Air Cooler tech missed were several procedures in set up: The top pulley of the cooler motor was left loose as a set screw was not tightened, the belt was slipping, and the bearings were not lubricated sufficiently. The water pan was left with sediment and gunk and the basket that the pump sits in was SO filthy it was blocking water to the pump. (Including photo) The reason I found all this out is a friend came and got on the roof and checked it and some issues were fixed. What else is an issue, is the bearings for the cooler need replacing because they are making noise, but I don't want AA to quote it as it will be very high. They are Crooks. They wanted over $2,000 just to diagnose why my air conditioning was not working. And that didn't even include the repairs, just to diagnose. They said that they needed to check four or five different things to find the freon leak. All I wanted them to do was replace my thermostat which they charged me $355 for. WOW! CROOKS! I called Econo West Inc they came out and fixed my air unit Freon leak and it only cost $840 and he even gave me two brass valves for the air unit and didn't even charge me. From now on I am using Econo West Inc. Even the owner of tech surgeon in Palmdale said he had a bad experience with Arctic air. Do not use them, they are Crooks. This company did not send out a repairman. They sent out a salesman to sell me a new system. I was misled to believe there was no repair that could be done on our system. I had to buy a 16 to 18 thousand dollar new system. The only thing that was wrong with my heater, was it needed a new igniter, which was under a $100 part.. We have been working for several months with Charlie and his team to keep our old HVAC system alive and kicking, at least to get us through the summer. Well, they did a great job replacing a circuit board that was falling apart, trying to patch a hole in the condenser and several other small things. It lasted for 6 months but finally we had to replace the entire system with a new Bosch Seer 14. Juan G. and his crew of 4 guys showed up exactly on time this morning, quickly setup by putting down drop cloths from the door to the old system upstairs and got right to work removing the condenser behind the shed (going above and beyond to remove a wall of our shed to get things in and out of a tight area. At the same time they took out the original system and updated several things while installing the new system. Overall it took them around 6 hours and they did a terrific job. At the end they walked me through the system both outside and upstairs. I am happy with the work and the company and would highly recommend Arctic Air for your HVAC needs. read more

Highly recommend these guys. I had a CO alarm go off in my house and they were here first thing in the morning. They had a fair price for a service call and when they got here they checked everything thoroughly. They even allowed the whole house to completely air out and come back four hours later at no extra charge. Great experience from the point I called and spoke with them until the job was complete. We called Artic Air after having a bad experience with another company with our Swamp Cooler. With it being the hottest time of Summer, our Swamp Cooler started to squeek loudly every time we would run it. We found Artic Air on Yelp and gave them a ring and set up an appointment for service. They were able to send out Carlos, who was really professional, knowledgable on repairing and maintenance on our cooler. He was in and out within an hour. We really loved the service and loved having our cooler back. We signed up for the annual subscription so now, we don't have to worry about our swamp cooler breaking down again. Arctic Air RIP OFF ARTIST. They disconnected the water supply hose to my cooler on the roof, just so I would have to rely on them to come hook ot back up during the warmer months. Now they won't come out to reconnect it because I canceled the membership . A tech by the name of Charlie from Arctic Air tried to sell me solar and because my wife and I chose not to buy solar, he refused to come out when we needed repairs for our cooler. read more

Artic Air was very responsive and has great customer service. Make sure you get in writing what they are doing and the cost. They came out to get our swamp cooler going for the summer. Total cost was $439 of which $100 was for membership. Nit sure what the other $339 was fir. The technician was here fir about an hour. He took the unit apart, made sure everything was working, switched some wires that were backwards, and repaired the water line with out copper tubing. The unit was not cleaned and no parts were purchased. $349 is quite an expensive service fee!!!! read more

Called arctic air and used their $99 tune up to check out my heating and A/C. Casey came out and thoroughly checked out my (1993 original to the house) system and changed my filter. He ran both systems and gave me a clean bill of health - for now. When my system does give out, Casey showed me options that are affordable to replace it. I called Arctic air on Monday and Wednesday Carlos one of the technicians came out to look at my breeze air evaporative cooler.. There are very few HVAC companies that actually understand and know how the Breezer actually works and is familiar with them. They are very different from a master cool and much more reliable and less expensive to run. . I called several other places who said they knew what I was talking about, with my unit but unfortunately, when they come out, they have no clue about this particular type of evaporative cooler.. The breeze air conditioner is considered the Cadillac of swamp coolers which is made in Australia.. Carlos was extremely thorough and knowledgeable which is a rarity these days. He was patient , kind understanding and knowledgeable Carlos is a god listener was very interested in what I had to say. Since I'm very mechanically inclined and have serviced this cooler for 20 years I know everything that has been done to it. To his amazement he was shocked at how well it had been maintained. The problem I was having was it wasn't cooling down like it normally did, sometime one just needs another opinion to get things dialed in better since I M no expert. Some of the issues started three years prior when somebody had changed the angle of the cooler by replacing two of the legs. They did not level it properly. The water was slightly accumulating in one corner away from the pump. Hence is why I was having a lot of water overflow going out draining. This is not the normal thing for this unit. Also sometimes at night it would actually drain itself completely which it's not supposed to. Since the Pads can't be bought from the manufacturer you have to get aftermarket ones. The pads are a little different iat the bottom so it hit part of the drain causing part of the problem. Carlos brought both issues to my attention. A quick fix was to cut part of the drain off because it's not needed anymore due to the pads being slightly different. This then resolved the problem. No more excessive water drainage.and spillage into the drain. The other thing that needed to be addressed was one of the legs was about 1/2" shorter.. So he gave me options to replace all of them or I could just fix it myself which I did Carlos is really good at giving simple hacks, and offering lots of great advise he is here to help out .I really appreciate that wholeheartedly.After I fixed the 2 problems then I adjusted the float and then added an extra little piece on the drain and it's all good now. He did tell me that there are some new parts that could improve the efficiency and reliability of the unit when I was ready in the future. I'm extremely happy with the service that I got and I am extremely picky about who works at my house. Most of the time it's wham Bam thank you ma'am and they don't do the job that they said they would. May companies will cut corners and then things fail again. That was NOT the case with Carlos with Arctic air. I find this company to be very professional and reliable and worth the service call. They also offer a $99 warranty for a year to come out and service your heating and cooling units by starting them up and shutting them down yearly going through all the tests to make sure everything is sadly running the way it should so that one doesn't have to do it themselves. To me that is a huge benefit if I stay in Comifornia. , I will definitely spend that money so I don't have to, deal anymore with my heating and air conditioning turning on and off cleaning making sure everything's OK myself. read more

We just recently bought our house that came with a swamp cooler. Our cooler stopped working when we contacted Artic Air they were quick to respond and sent somebody to come look at it. We were helped by Charlie, who was kind to take a look at the cooler and was super informative with what needed to be done and how he fixed it. Heater went out day before Thanksgiving, the Service Manager was able to come same day. Did a temporary fix to hold us until we could replace our 22 year old heater. We knew it was going to be replaced soon. We decided to replace heater, the Following Tuesday the crew came in. Protected our floors installed new AC/Heating unit. Explained new system. Cleaned up after them selves. Charlie and his team were polite and very efficient. Had a minor issue with heat, called Charlie at Arctic Air late in day, he came out first thing next morning fixed the problem at no charge. Greatest Service ever! read more

The tech who came to assess the AC was, in fact, a salesman who pushed financing and stated the unit needed to be replaced (for $18,000) and that there was no platform for the current AC (there is a cement platform) so one would need to be purchased as well. We got a second opinion and the AC was fixed and is working well, thanks to another company. read more

They offered to change a few parts out in the hopes that the problem goes away but it turned out the partsy that were chosen had nothing to do with the problem. I complained and requested a refund for the poor service. They charged me 89$ and even today, weeks later, I'm fighting with them to get the money back. Arctic Air came out to my house on 8/22/24, 1st Michael and Carlos was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and informative about my unit and the things I need to do to keep it lasting a little longer, especially since it's a much older unit. What's stopping me from giving Arctic Air 5 stars is that they charged me $760 to cut off a piece of burned wire and reconnect it, out of all the other things they repaired I felt this was very much out of price range, since there was no wiring needed to be done there and the wiring, they did do was $270 less than cutting that 3 inch piece of wire and reconnecting it. I spoke with Josh the office manager and he offered no reasonable solution other than the technicians did their job and everything was great, I totally agreed with him, they represented the company 100% and was great, but my issue laid with the cost to cut that wire reconnect the same wire and nothing else, $760 WOW. They (company) need to look at what it would cost to do the job not just pricing based on "what if" or "it looks like". I really would like to use this company in the future if needed, because their Tech's was really on top of things, but had no say so in the pricing, which is where my hesitation with Arctic Air is. read more

I looked up around 10 companies on yelp...this one was one out of 3 that would come out to where I lived...i looked at all their reviews and found that they had very good reviews...so I called and scheduled an appointment...Charlie came out to fix our problem...Charlie was mentioned in a bunch of the reviews I read...all were great reviews...our A/C unit pooped out around 5 days ago...I called Arctic Air 2 days ago...Charlie was very professional...he didn't try to sell me anything...he found out that it was just that our A/C unit needed to be serviced...he opened up our unit and washed the coil that was caked with dirt...when he came back in he showed me the infrared instrument that he uses to show that cold air was now flowing...we talked about changing filters...we also talked about the $99 a year membership that i was informed about when I made the appointment...and I brought that up...there was no time when he tried to sell or pressure me into buying something I didn't need...(and I did get the $99 membership....its a great deal!!)
