The customer service was excellent and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment relatively quickly, especially given the summer season. Prior to the technician arriving I received an update in regards to his ETA, which was helpful. Additionally, Affordable Air also provided me a brief background and a photo of the technician, so I can feel more familiarized with who is coming into my home--which I really appreciated. The downside of this appointment was that I was not provided a comprehensive explanation as to what was going on with my AC unit. There was a lot of different terms floating around and he was not able to clearly identify the source of what the issue was. Furthermore, it appeared that the technician spent a considerable amount of time trying to sell me a HVAC system. The options for pricing were not clearly explained to me in regards to quality and durability. If I were offered a more comprehensive explanation, I may have been more inclined to give this company a better rating and may selected them as a provider. Nonetheless, it is that when a homeowner is making such an expensive purchase that they are fully aware of the various options available to them, and I was not afforded that opportunity. Called them out as our heater was not working properly. The tech said that the control board needed to be replaced and the price for the board itself was around $1k but that would include the install. Ended up paying $956 and the technician completed the job in about 30 to 40 minutes. The unit was still not working properly before he left and the tech did say that the thermostat needed to be replaced. Google smart thermostat and he mentioned that I could unplug from upstairs and plug downstairs in the meantime since we have two units/ thermostats. Needless to say, we were gone for a couple of days and upon returning, tried doing what the tech had mentioned. The unit was still not working and both thermostats were working just fine, minus the heater. Called them up and were quick to come back. I was then told that it was an igniter and or other issue and that was around $350 and that he didn't have the part and needed to come back. Tech came the following day and installed the part at no additional cost which is reassuring of customer service. Is it the cheapest out there? Not sure, as in doing price comparisons, the OEM boards are less than $300 dollars on many websites. I do like text the updates and the fact that they came back to honor their work. read more

I was recommended to call Quality Air by a family friend. I called and was asked how they could help. I explained that my AC went out and I was in the middle of repairs and needed some help. They said it was $85 for a service call and that the service fee would be deducted from the cost of repairs. I asked if they had a rate schedule for the price of repairs and they told me no, the technician would quote a price (red flag #1. Why don't they have a rate schedule?). I reluctantly agreed because they were recommended. The timeframe given was between 3-6. They would let me know if a sooner appt. was possible. Thankfully, they called and had someone available sooner. I literally said "I don't want someone who can just check the system. I need help with a repair". (I had changed a capacitor that wasn't working OR the fan motor was out and I couldn't properly diagnose it uncertain of a couple of the wires, and I was having problems getting the fan motor and fan blade separated to install the new motor I had bought for $150. The capacitor was $18). They said they understood and the technician could help. The technician was great; friendly and knowledgeable. But, when I told him the issue he said "we can't work on parts we don't install." When I asked why this wasn't explained when I called he said it usually is. In this case, it wasn't. It doesn't seem like something they say when they're angling for an $85 fee and the chance to give you a crazy quote. So, the tech was kind enough to help me understand the wiring, told me I was on the right track, and even gave me a hand trying to get the fan blade off. I hope mentioning that doesn't get him in trouble, he was great and nice enough to try to help me. Did we get the fan blade off? No. So what did I get from Affordable Air after I called and asked for help with a repair? I received some great advice, and a quote of ~$900 to replace the brand new fan motor I had just bought the day before for $150 which is non-returnable for one they would mark up and could work on, and a quote for ~$400 for the fan blade we couldn't get off, along with an $85 bill for assessing my system, and zero help with repairs. In the end I got the service I said I didn't want and didn't get the service I did want. Isn't anyone a genuine AC repairman, or are they all just trying to oversell you? If anyone knows a good AC repair person let me know. I'm not going to drop $1300+ every time a $150 fan motor goes out at a rental property or an $18 capacitor goes bad. We're all just struggling to get by out here and you've got these guys holding you ransom to pay for their marked up parts. Ridiculous. Affordable air . read more

I purchased a new Lennox air and heating unit from Affordable Air and Heating and had them instal it at my house. One week later it stopped cooling. I immediately called AA&H, told them about my situation and asked that they send someone out to me right away. It was shortly after 4:00pm on a Thursday and over 90 degrees outside. They told me that the earliest they could send somebody was the next day between 3:00 and 6:00pm! No matter what I said to them I was told that that was the best they could do. One would think that a unit that fails within one week after installation would be a priority and that they would do all the could do to send somebody out. Their customer service was excellent until after it was installed and payed for. But after then, they completely let me down. Update: I just received a call from AA&H who, upon seeing my one star review, reached out to me. I had this company come out for regular Maintenance and Gabriel stated that I had a leak for Carbon monoxide. That scared me so much! I called the company that installed the A/C and Heater that is still under warranty from the manufacture. Jeff checked for levels of Carbon Monoxide and there were none at all. I'm really angry because Gabriel then tried to sell me a new heater for 4000.00 and that I could to monthly payments. DONT GO TO THESE GUYS!!!! read more

Having been an Affordable Heating and Air customer for over 15 years, it was no surprise that today's maintenance call went very well. Today, Jeremee and Alfredo came out to do our biannual maintenance. They explained everything they were doing and showed me how to clean the outdoor compressor when there is bad air quality. Of course they cleaned the outdoor compressor for me. I learn something new every time they come out. Plus, every employee I have encountered has been friendly and trustworthy. I have an old AC unit recently giving me problems. Shuts off after a few minutes due to overheating. I've never had an issue before. Was recommended to clean the central AC furnace for $1200 dollars... or replace the outside and cleaning for $6800 dollars. Anyway asked a different self employed HVAC tech that doesn't work for these scam companies and he came same day. Didn't even look at my central AC because that was working and only focused on the out door unit. He essentially cleaned it released pressure and charged me $180. It took about an hour and said my old unit should easily make it through the summer. So essentially I payed $50 for AAAH to come out and explain everything wrong and not fix anything unless I was willing to spend $1200. All it needed was a cleaning with a hose read more

Another great experience with Affordable Air & Heating! Today was the day for our first complimentary service check of the new Lennox HVAC system that we had installed earlier this year. Service Technician Jeremee arrived on time and performed the checkup. Everything was A-OK as I expected since everything has worked flawlessly since it was installed. Our a/c unit compressor blew out for the 2nd time per our home warranty. I called affordable air to get a second opinion & Issac came and as soon as I turned it on he said its the compressor lol I laugh because I was praying that it wouldn't be that. He found an unrelated problem with the a/c unit and replaced a wire to keep it functioning until we can replace that unit. He explained what would be need to be replaced in our old system in the future, and took videos and photographs so we could make informed decisions. I cannot say enough about the wonderful service Affordable Air has given my mom. I had them come out to do the maintenance on my mom's system and asked about cleaning the air ducts. Gabriel inspected the ducts and found some rips in a few places of the ducts, so we scheduled to have the ducts replaced. They were out the following Monday to replace the ductwork. All of the worker's (John, Danny, Eddie, Jonathan and Oscar)were so respectful of my mom who has medical issues. It only took them one day to complete the job, her house is small. A service technician came to my elderly mother's home told her to fix her heater would be 1700 dollars to fix it or 10,000 to replace it if he could not get the parts for repair. He said the parts aren't available and tried to pressure to replace the unit kept asking her what is there to think about ! Another company came out and repaired it in an hour for 330 dollars after many pushing calls from this company to get started on the replacement beware ! read more
