This dude is aggressive. He gave me a quote through the yelp app and when I showed up he added fees "for the certificate" when I confronted him about it I told him to stop my smog. He then made a weird comment about how if I potentially left a bad review that he wouldn't wanna go to my place. Honestly so many better smog shops. read more

Definitely scammed me. I called and over the phone quoted me 50$ for a smog test then tried saying it was over 100$ until I called them out. There were unnecessary fees added to total me to 68$- which I should have taken my business elsewhere. Ended up at around 59$. I failed (which I can understand) but then he told me to drive my car for an hour and come back for a retest (which isn't discounted or free) hahaha. Nah. Should have read the other reviews carefully -- guy pulled the exact same scam on me. Quoted me $59 over the phone then rang me up for $108. When I called him on it, he made up a BS story about me calling the wrong shop, then said he'd be a nice guy and give me a discount. First said $68 (which matched other shops I called) then made up an extra fee to take it to $75. I didn't want to haggle any more -- will just report him to California AG since obviously he does this to all customers. read more

Really wanted to gove a full 5 stars- Called in the morning for pricing, was told $49.70 total to smog. That alone was good. But then I found another place closer for $39! I was paying nearly $60all in prior and always felt scammed by that. So considered both locations, but couldnt pass on the idea that this location could be $24 plus state fees- they offered a $25 off coupon. When I arrived, I was told it was $99.75 w the $25 off... not what I was planning. Maybe I misheard this am, but he was pretty easy to understand on the phone. I def heard- 47 actually. Felt like a bait n switch. But fairly quickly, he offered to match as it seemed I was misguided? Either way, w a home of 4 vehicles, if this one stays with in the $30-40 range, well keep coming back. Guy running it seemed nice and quick. No appointment, just drove up. But instead of matching the 49.70 as I SWORE he said hed match....he just took off $43? Total cost was $65.... for a 2015 82000mile car. None of the numbers make sense...but they at least seem consistent...even when I thought Id found a "deal". almost feels like they just pick a price right then and there. Wound up paying more than my regular place. He did offer me to bring back the next car for an additional $10 off.... but I dunno. Hard to trust any of it. Even at 4 stars, doesnt seem quite right. Andasnt something I could really argue too much since the service was done. Ill just get estimates written down in the future.... since we are smogging at least one vehicle every year read more

Smog check went smoothly according to my wife who dropped off the car, and the car passed. But their business practices are shady. I called in the morning and was quoted $49.99. They also had an online coupon for $25 valid for 'most cars' and our Prius certainly falls into that category. I texted my wife that she should take the car to Arco Highland and also a link to the coupon. When I saw the receipt it showed that she had been given $25 rebate for the coupon but charged $99.95. And like most smog stations, they add BS charges for 'certificate'. I called up the station asking for the price, to confirm that they had overcharged but instead they asked 'what's your best price so far'? Realizing that they offered to beat other offers I simply explained the situation. Instead of offering to honor their original price, they gave a defensive speech about how there is a different price for walk-in-customers and that it's clearly posted etc. OK, whatever, but now you had told me a different price over the phone so just make it right, eh? I was getting nowhere, and barely getting a word in, so I asked if he wanted this on in his Yelp reviews. Shouldn't have done that, his defensive tone became aggressive and he said I was threatening him and he took it personally. In the end he offered to refund us $20 if we came over. I don't want anything to do with that guy and am letting the credit card company handle the refund. Just like some of the other reviews confirm, be prepared to be charged a higher price than quoted. We just moved to Glendale and too bad this guy reinforces the 'I give you good deal my friend' stereotype. read more

$195 for 2 smog checks for 2 cars. The cars are from 2017 and 2007. So 100 for one and 95 for the other. That price is ridiculous bc other smog check places charge way less than that. This place reeks of dishonesty. Charging different ppl different prices is not ok. read more

Find someplace else. I was completely ripped off. Unless $90+ fee for certification is standard but now after getting my smogged checked. I looked up the DMV website and it states: 3.065 Smog Certification Fee (VC §11713.1 and CH&SC §44060) Dealers may charge buyers a fee not to exceed $50 for emission testing plus the actual fee charged for issuance of the smog certification. I don't know what this company is doing and how they're getting away with it. Btw my car is a 2016 small Honda. It did not need to be 90! I feel awful but the person who runs this place should be the one feeling ashamed for ripping people off. The person who helped me who I assume is the owner was even annoyed that I used a coupon that they advertise on their yelp site. If you're in the Glendale area there's a smog check place next to the DMV and it's 40 dollars. lesson learned. I hope this review helps someone save money. read more

My father came in today for a smog check and was charged $118. He's 87 years old and a retired Veteran with early dementia and thought he was charged $40 or $50. I called the business about this and was reluctantly offered a $20 refund. When I asked for a quote through Yelp for the same vehicle- I was quoted a flat rate of $49.75. To me, it seems clear my father was overcharged by $68.25. The owner explained that he charged my father the highest 'rack rate' that is posted in his shop. I was not happy about this since my father has gone to this business many times in the past without any problems. (Apparently being a long time customer results being overcharged?) We have received no refund from the business and instead he accused me of harassing him and he has now threatened to harass me at my place of employment. read more
