OK it's not that bad, especially if you go to the Glendale Smog Center. It is Saturday afternoon, I cruise over, Albert walks up and starts the test immediately. As in, within 60 seconds of me pulling up. You can sit inside and wait, but the whole thing only takes about 10 minutes. 60 bucks cash, sign the receipt, and Albert reports the results to the DMV. Whole process was 10-15 minutes and Albert was super friendly. Even AAA is down the street so you can pay your registration all the same day. Highly recommend Glendale Smog Center. I got my notification that my car needed a smog check and well, to me its not the best feeling in the world. So I jumped on Yelp's quote finder to find me a technician. Glendale Smog Center was the quickest to answer and Albrik was extremely helpful and responsive to all my inquiries. I set an appointment for the following day and he was more than accommodating. Arriving at the shop, Albrik was the one who assisted me and greeted me with a warm handshake and smile. He got to work right away and explained that he took either cash, electronic payment (Zelle, Cashapp, etc.) and CC. The service didn't take long and was done in about 15-20 minutes from when I first drove in. All in all it cost me $60. For me, my car is important and having not to wait and having it done quickly was equally important. Albrik checked off all those boxes. Truly, the fastest smog check I have ever had performed out of maybe a dozen. It wasn't the cheapest, but it was consistent with what others charge in the Glendale area, and it was more important for me to get the test done quickly rather than drive out to the valley to save 10 bucks or more. Staff was polite, and now I don't have to send anything to the DMV because that was all done for me in less than 10 minutes.
