I found this place on Yelp! I needed a smog for my registration. I called 5 places and they were all $50-70! This place had the best deal for $40 for my car, a Toyota Rav 4. The owner was friendly and communicative. He gave the impression he was honest, and enjoyed his job with each individual customer. I really appreciate that. It took 20 min and I was out of there. I really like this place. I've only been twice now, since my newer vehicle wasn't due for it's first smog until recently. I called to see if I needed to make an appointment. I live right around the corner, so I could take the car in whenever. Vic asked when I'd like to come by and I told him I could come in now. He said that he was doing a test right at that moment, but if I wanted to come by in like 10 minutes, then that would be good. Got there and he was just wrapping up with the previous customer. I had to get a smog check on my car in order to register it in CA... Unbeknownst to me, the German cars don't jibe with a lot of the older machines used at smog check stations. I needed a song for my 98 accord so I yelped and found these guys close to where I live. I was short on time so I called up and went in 45 minutes later. It took the boss 30 minutes from me getting there to getting in my car and leaving. My car passed All I had to do was go to AAA to pay my registration. Ive been taking my car, parents car, gfs car, and yes I have even had my ex take her car here and every single member has been very pleased with the care and honesty provided by the owner and nearby mechanics. Made an appointment to get my smog checked around 9:00 AM on a Saturday. I chose this place for the average stars. When I called for a quote it was a few bucks cheaper than other places. It's located behind Mambo's restaurant, they share a small parking lot. The person before me just finished and I was able to get it done right away. we all know how stressful it can be moving from another state to california. Yelp has been an amazing tool for this very purpose, smog test? my car is 4 years old why do I need a smog test!? argghhh on top of all the things you needed to do this day , you get to registering your out of state car only to find you need a smog test. thats when i looked to yelp and found these guys, they are the best and cheapest in town!!! awesome guys, friendly and by the end of it all you want to invite them to your next bbq. its so great to meet genuine nice people amidst the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. I love these guys and highly recommend them for your smog test!!! cost $45 as opposed to $90 elsewhere. they had me back to AAA with my papers to register my car and I was HAPPY! fyi if you are a AAA member, you can register your out of state vehicle with any AAA office in California, just call them and get your membership transferred to a California membership, takes 5 minutes on the phone. take your new # with you to AAA and register your car there. walk in only, opens at 9 am read more
