After years of discussing renovating our bathroom, the time has finally arrived. We have been…read moreliving in our home for 24+ years. It took about 20 years to have the house painted inside and outside (really did not need painting for many years). Next, over the years we have changed out our countertops, replaced wood flooring in pieces and changed out appliances that were no longer working. Our bathroom is very outdated, which really does not matter to us. However, it has begun to become unfunctional. The bath tub knobs are starting to fall off, tile cracked in several places, and the shower has heating issues. After evaluating several contractors, we decided to move forward. Today we met with a sales representative at ProSource Wholesale, Kathleen, to discuss materials. We did not realize the process was so involved, i.e. choosing the materials in concert with existing materials that will not be changed in the bathroom. Also, tile, backsplash, lighting, mirrors, etc. are all decision points and quite overwhelming. However, we are jumping into the water headfirst! After talking with the sales representative, she advised us to look a Pinterest to get a better idea of what we wanted. Prosource Wholesales offers a plethora of materials - tiles, wood flooring, lighting, knobs, countertops, etc. It reminds me why I never wanted to do a custom home...too many choices. However, one room should be manageable. The process of discussing what we wanted was cathartic and mind blowing. Looking forward to the remodeling journey... On to Pinterest...

They also changed the backsplash shelf design to a shorter length than was originally designed. The worst issue is now we have a crack that developed from one of the corner cuts and they said it isn't covered under any warranty and nothing we can do. The crack is growing.

    TimberTown Austin - Original incident.

I've had two separate trucks damaged by TimberTown's forklift operators while picking up materials…read more The first time, TimberTown accepted responsibility and paid a body shop directly. Shawn, the general manager at the time, assisted with that process and I'm grateful for his help. Unfortunately, the second incident has been nothing but deflection, denial, and frankly--disrespect. After the most recent damage, I submitted photos, repair estimates, and every piece of documentation their upper management requested--including trade-in paperwork after the truck was sold. Instead of taking accountability, TimberTown leadership accused both me and a third party (Covert, the dealership I traded the truck to) of fraud, simply because I followed through on what they originally asked me to do. Most offensively, they accused the sales manager at Covert--someone I've never even met or spoken to--of helping me fabricate paperwork. This person was simply trying to help me provide TimberTown the documents they requested. I've been trying to get this resolved since Fall 2023. This morning, I emailed Josh Clinksales, TimberTown's CFO per his email signature, to request that all further communication take place via email or text, as I was tired of phone calls where I was repeatedly accused of fraud. Minutes later, Josh called me directly and said: "Christian, I've talked to upper management. Do whatever you have to do. We're not going to fix or pay anything." That was the final word. This is not a miscommunication. This is a company choosing to ignore clear evidence and deny accountability, even after a repeated history of damage. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store--more than what I'm even requesting. I took a loss when I traded in that damaged vehicle because TimberTown refused to do the right thing, and I was left to cover the cost out of pocket. I'm posting this review, along with photos from both damage incidents, so that other contractors and customers know: if something goes wrong at TimberTown, you may be completely on your own. Even if they ask for estimates, receipts, or documents, it may lead nowhere. You may just end up wasting your time, your money, and your energy for them to ultimately tell you they don't care and won't do anything about it. https://www.google.com/search?q=timbertown&sca_esv=d4be40e2387352c5&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS1114US1114&ei=8zZUaPLHMo_AkPIPraK3CQ&gs_ssp=eJzj4tZP1zcsyTIvLzHMM2C0UjWosDAzMUlONTUwNE02TEw1NrUyqDA0Tk02sjBIsjBJTjFNS0n14irJzE1KLSrJL88DAEuiE04&oq=timbertown&gs_lp=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&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#lrd=0x8644ce5015c1ae35:0x13ec280b84cd5fde,1,,,,

I fell for a very specific blue quartzite (Ijen Blue). I shopped all over town and all the Ijen Blue slabs were washed out and polished. Leon went above and beyond to make sure I secured 4 slabs of this beautiful material WITH deep color and a honed finish. Leon is professional, incredibly knowledgeable, customer-service oriented and just a wonderful person to do business with. I loved this guy so much, I insisted my fabricator use their quartz as well to finish out my new home build. Quartz is pretty much the same from manufacturer to manufacturer (imho)- but Midwest had everything I needed. I was happy to make sure Midwest got my business. I also felt like their pricing was very fair and reasonable. On our original visit to Midwest, we were lucky enough to have Christy Smeltzer assist us. She helped us choose quartz slabs for our primary bath, guest bedrooms and laundry room. She is also an incredible asset to Midwest. I would recommend Leon, Christy and Midwest Tile to anyone.
