Smoked Salmon Benedict
Angela C.

Located within the Fairmont Waterfront hotel. We came here twice during our stay - once in the afternoon /evening for happy hour where we ordered smash burgers and oysters, and a second time for breakfast. We had wonderful servers and delicious meals both times! For breakfast, Baba was our wonderful server! Their breakfast buffet is a bit of a hybrid as they have some things laid out and other things on a small menu that you order from. Some things on the menu included muesli, avocado toast, eggs Benedict, and omelets. The portions weren't too big so it was easier to try several things off the menu. They had pastries, sausages, oatmeal, fruit as part of the self-serve station. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend ARC any time of day!

Highly recommend for guests staying at the hotel, especially if you have credits from amex or chase. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast buffet here. For dinner we had foraged mushroom, beef short ribs, chowder, chocolate sorbet, all of which are great. The children's menu items are pretty decent too, kids approved. A special shoutout to our waitress Julie for the exceptional service. Breakfast buffet is a bit lacking in options, but quality is pretty good too. We tried the berries smoothie (good), avocado toast (above average), salmon omelette (decent). The place is pretty classy and well lit.

Had breakfast for two as part of the complimentary breakfast for two included in our AmEx FHR stay. The wait staff was very helpful and checked in often. We went at 10am and the restaurant was quite empty. I liked the mix of the buffet bar and the made to order items. Buffet offerings. - scrambled eggs: super moist, one of the best breakfast buffet scrambled eggs I've had - smoked salmon: flaky in a good way and very savory - chicken sausage: one of the juiciest chicken sausages I've had. Cooked perfectly - almond croissant: looked underwhelming but it was full of the filling, sweet and delicious Made to order - avocado toast: the egg was so jammy, perfectly poached. Avocado was well ripened - berry smoothie: perfect addition to the entire breakfast Overall was very happy w the experience

Environment and decoration is on the taste. Staff professionism is also up to the quality. Ingredients are fresh, dish presentation is decent. Everything seems up to code. If I had to point areas of improvement - a bit too salty for all dishes, and dishes a bit pricey(but location do play a big part I agree so it's understandable).

Kinda pricey, but really good food at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel. Get the pull-apart bread with honey butter for an appetizer. For a main, get the burger or the local chowder stocked with seafood and prawns if they're in season. Great views of the harbor with their massive floor-to-ceiling windows.

We tried their weekend breakfast buffet and upon arrival at our table, the floors were dirty with food, crumbs, and the booth even had a small piece of bacon and some grease. We were very disappointed in this hotel and restaurant, as that's not something I expect from a nice hotel. We didn't sit at the table and requested they clean it up before we could be seated. We spoke to the manager, Lauren, and she was apologetic and said she'd personally clean it herself. She then comped our kids' breakfast meals, which was nice of her. Our server was friendly and pleasant. Despite the rocky start, the food was overall quite good, and given the manager's quick response, the overall experience turned out to be okay.

Its more like 3 stars for the breakfast, 1star for dinner (vegetarian) and 5 stars for service. Stayed in the Fairmont for 3 nights and breakfast was included with our stay. The spread is very basic-bagel sliced bfead croissant and a couple muffins, oatmeal and yogurt with some toppings.and some hot items like bacon, potatoes and sausages. They had some items you can order off a menu like omelette and avo toast. Again everything was very basic in taste for such an expensive (if you pay for it) place. Also, only black coffee is included and you pay extra for capuccino (weird i know for an all inclusive breakfast). Service was good on all 3 mornings. We also dined here one night. Got the 2 vegetarian pasta options, a cocktail and couple beers. It was a very expensive meal in my opi ion with super tiny portions. Again service was excellent but Id give it a hard pass on the food.

I initially wanted to try the Chef's bench live oyster which was advertised on their website. I called to confirm with a lady after making the reservation online as there was nowhere on the reservation to indictate my request. The lady who answered the phone was very polite but confused. she indicated that she would make a note. On the day of the reservation, we were surprised to find out this offer is only for Mondays-Fridays, which is contrary to the info on the website. Our server was very polite and clarified. We decided to try their oysters still as well as their charcuterie board. The oysters were fresh, just not my type cos of my personal preference but i did like the variety their charcuterie board though. Overall, their happy hour items are comparable to other ones in the area but nothing unique which caught our eyes but prices seem slightly higher to some of the restaurants in the same neighborhood. but quality was good. The best part was definitely their view. Amazing view of the cruise ship terminal and canada place

This restaurant is amazing. It was one of the perks for staying at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel in Vancouver, BC. My husband decided to go here for dinner one night and the service was spectacular. Our waitress was super friendly, understanding and very comical. We enjoyed the night even more with her. The food was decent. I ordered the 3 course meal for $79, it included a soup, main entree and a dessert. My husband ordered the tenderloin with a side of mashed potatoes. I ordered the soup which was the pacific chowder and the waitress offered to split it into two so that my husband could have a taste. She was very thoughtful there. The soup was creamy and filled with a lot of seafood. Next, the braised rib was tender and paired nicely with the chive mashed potatoes. Lastly the blood orange sorbetto was so good. The tenderloin was so good. The profiteroles came in 3 but our waitress sent the order for 4 so that my husband and I could get two each. How thoughtful was that?! The decor of this space was highly sophisticated and upscale. We got a seat by the window and had a nice ocean view. It was very magical.

The ARC - Fairmont Waterfront (Breakfast & Dinner) Breakfast at The ARC was included with our Chase booking, and at $65 per person, it genuinely impressed. What makes this buffet stand out is the made-to-order menu paired with unlimited self-serve stations. You can order fresh items from the menu while also building your plate from stations featuring fruit, bread, spreads, cheeses, and a hot bar. The hot bar was excellent--especially the sausage (well-seasoned and moist), the eggs (easily the best buffet eggs I've had), and the oats, which were perfectly cooked--neither watery nor dry. Portions from the menu were thoughtfully sized: not overly large, which made it possible to try multiple items if you were hungry. The drip coffee was surprisingly good, and they provided a personal pitcher so you could refill at your own pace. The berry smoothie was fresh, delicious, and a great healthy way to start the day. A few notes: * The muesli wasn't for me due to the coconut, but coconut lovers will likely enjoy it. * The lemon cake was fragrant with visible lemon pieces and great flavor, though it could have been slightly more moist. * The salmon Benedict would have benefited from fresh herbs or toppings like dill, capers, onions, or cucumbers. * The hollandaise sauce could have been more flavorful. Dinner was just as impressive. We tried the steak tenderloin, and somehow they managed to make a medium-well steak incredibly moist and juicy--no easy feat. My partner can't eat steak medium or below, so this was especially impressive. The pairing with the mashed potatoes was phenomenal and beautifully balanced. Is it worth $65 per person? If you have a solid appetite and/or can at least enjoy three menu items plus a drink, absolutely. If not, you may struggle to get full value. That said, this was still the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. With a few small tweaks, it would easily be a five-star experience. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was bright, clean, lively, and spacious. A nice touch: complimentary cookies while waiting for our table.

After a long day of travel, we were able to relax here and enjoy good food & delicious drinks! It's a clean, open & has an appropriate level of lighting & music to enjoy. Everyone was welcoming & service was quick. The wagyu burger was great, allowing side to split into salad and Parmesan fries. Hot & cooked just right! The chicken dish was good, a little bland despite the sauce trying to be flavorful. The side mushroom dish was yummy. Note- Cauliflower is just bland, so it cannot aid in flavor. Overall we really enjoyed! Ps the garden to drinks are wonderful!

Sunday brunch at the Fairmont Waterfront Restaurant was a tapas style, order off the menu, assortment of unique sweet and savory dishes. Our party of 6 enjoyed a variety of dishes, my favourite was the maple Brussel sprouts, buttermilk biscuits and the chicken and waffle. We ordered and sampled all the dishes, consensus was the food was not hot enough. Our server was fairly attentive but the kitchen closed without giving us a last call heads up. At $69 per person it is a little pricey considering the narrow menu choices. This was our second trip in the last few years, all in all it was ok but not amazing.

So many options from their ayce brunch menu. The service was amazing but definitely prioritize what you want to try first! Was kinda shocked they increased the price by $10 every year, it was worth the amount when I heard of it but now it's too pricy.

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The Aviation was possibly the best I've ever had; crisp and floral, the violet was just right. The floating lemon star was a bonus of adorableness. The sablefish was buttery and seasoned well, but I ran into a couple of pin bones, which are difficult to completely remove. The best bite on the plate was the charred zucchini. I had the Espresso in the Forest for dessert on the server's recommendation and it was incredible. Rich and decadent, couldn't quite finish it. Impeccable service and atmosphere - seating was plush.

The short rib stroganoff was deeply savory, rich, tender ribbons of beef folded into wide noodles with plenty of earthy wild mushrooms. It's deeply satisfying, though with all that rich sauce, the last few bites can feel pretty heavy. We also tried the savoury Dutch baby, which had great puffed, crispy edges and a custardy center that held up well against its savory toppings. The cocktail program is just as strong, with well-balanced drinks that don't lean overly sweet. The Service Friendly, down-to-earth, and attentive. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and guided upstairs without any awkward waiting. Drink orders were taken quickly, water was refilled consistently, and our server had honest recommendations when we asked to compare a couple of share plates. Pacing between drinks and hot food felt natural and relaxed. The Ambiance Easily the standout feature of the experience. Set inside a converted heritage house, it feels like dining in a bohemian, antique-filled living room. Between the fringed vintage lamps, dark moody walls, eclectic framed art, and soft amber lighting, the vibe is cozy, quirky, and distinctly romantic. It does get a little dim once the sun sets, and some tables in the smaller rooms are arranged fairly close together, but the character makes up for it.

We were told at that point (for the second time) when we had to leave by. We selected a top bottle and when we ordered were told what time we needed to vacate the table. At that point I had enough. I wasn't prepared to spend that much on a beautiful bottle of wine (and dinner) to be harassed the entire time we enjoyed it. Very embarrassed I had to ask my guest if we could leave. The interior was super cute but small/intimate. This would be a good place to go on a date night as the volume inside wasn't deafening; you could easily carry on a conversation with your dining partners (surprisingly, I can't say this about many restaurants lately - especially in Yaletown!). The center of the restaurant is occupied by a bar-island. You'd think with a name like "Alchemy" that they'd be known for their cocktail concoctions here but, IMO, this cute place is more of a pasta/bistro/pub than a cocktail lounge. Their alcoholic beverage menu seemed more run-of-the-mill standard to me. Here are the positives: -the staff here are AMAZINGLY nice and attentive. Like, SO nice and friendly! -there's a pretty fast turnover time between ordering and receiving your foods and drinks. -as mentioned above, the restaurant is cute and intimate, there's a nice patio, and the interior volume is very reasonable. -they have a really good happy hour menu, and it's every single day, from 3-6pm. -they have a daily special, including "pasta Monday", where every pasta dish costs $17.95. -their everyday menu is pretty varied with quite a few options for "pub" food (i.e., pasta and pizza, chicken wings and burgers, and mains that include steak and salmon and chicken). Their desserts look pretty decent, too. (The creme brûlée sounds particularly good!). We were there for Happy Hour, so I got a glass of excellent pinot Grigio and my friend ordered a Malbec (or two!), and we shared a Margherita pizza and some tortilla chips with artichoke dip. The presentation of the chips and dip was amazing (a neighboring table had ordered this dish and it looked so good, we had to order it too). And both the pizza and the chips and dip were really good. Really good. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because there was a dirty napkin on the floor by my feet. That was kinda a turn-off for me. The rest of the table and restaurant were very clean. It was just this one dirty napkin. (I took a photo, attached). (Wish there was a way to just deduct half a star TBH). This was a fun local place, with very reasonable prices for good bistro-like fare, and the staff here was fantastic. I'd definitely return.
