In my travels in the Central Valley, it was lunch time and I saw a Arby's sign in a new Love's truck stop. Apparently, this Arby's is new for Madera. The Love's truck stop is has two restaurants inside a Chester's Fried Chicken and the Arby's. Again, I fell for the TV advertising for the "prime rib spicy cheese steak sandwich. This review is mainly for the sandwich and not the restaurant itself. The restaurant along with the truck stop are clean and busy. They even have a dog park area toward the side. I order the prime rib spicy cheese steak sandwich small combo $10.00. My order came out fast, so I parked my car near the dog park to eat. Very disappointed with the sandwich small tasteless melted cheese with peppers and some sliced meat. I got suckered by the ads again! The curly fries were ok and the Dr. Pepper was quenching. If it were not for Covid and the convenience this is one meal I could have saved the calories. read more

I grew up on Arby's. There were many fast food places but always chose Arby's in San Jose, Ca. I learned there was this Arby's 8 minutes away so we went. Bought the Arby's roast beef with Cheddar and Fish sandwich with cheddar. We got home and dug in. The fish sandwich was cold and a bit slimy. Took one bite and tossed into the garbage. The roast beef looked like it was made many hours ago. The bun was smashed and crust was pealing. Had a few bits and tossed that one in the garbage. I'm so disappointed in the quality of food. Well, I now see why this Arby's has less than three stars on Yelp. My wife and I went through the drive-thru tonight and order our usual meals but the guy on the speaker was having problems. He gave us a total of $19.70 and told us to pull up. I asked him if he was going to ask us what flavor of soda we wanted, and he said "You said Coke". I told him I would never have said Coke since I was a diabetic and that would kill me. He finally asked and I told him Diet Coke. After a ten minute wait, we finally got to the window. There was only one car ahead of us. A different person at the window asked for over $21 to which I told him the guy on the speaker said it was $19.70. Then the attitude started. When we finally got our food I said something about the two different prices and the guy in the photos said, "Get the fuck out of my drive-thru" and threw our drink straws at me in my car and slammed the window. He gave us no receipt, no sauces or ketchup, and no napkins. Just flying straws and a bad attitude. My wife and I enjoyed our meal at a table outside. While eating we called the Loves Truck Stop and asked to speak to an Arby's manager. After a short wait, the guy that threw the straws at me came on the phone and identified himself as the manager. I recognized the voice but played along. He said he just sent that employee home that cussed at us and threw the straws. Meanwhile, we are sitting at the dog park watching him on the phone from about 100 yards away. I drove my wife home and went back to talk to the manager of the Loves Truck Stop and told him I would be coming in to identify the employee. He said it wasn't necessary as he knew who it was and gave me his name. He said the General Manager Burt would be in on Monday and I asked him to please watch the video. When I left I walked over to Arby's to get a photo of the employee so he would correctly be identified to management. I got my photo and started to walk back to my car through the travel store. The employee followed me, yelling the whole time like he wanted to fight and the travel center manager came out. I told the manager, "This is what I had to deal with at the drive-thru." The Arby's employee yelled that I should take a photo with his name tag so I did. Then the travel center manager had to remove him from the store as I was leaving. I commented under my breath as I walked away and the Abyss employee yelled for me to repeat myself. So I told him, "I said you ain't got the meat." This Arby's restaurant has been horrible since day one and was even in the news for having employees with Covid-19. With their Yelp rating being in the low Two stars, it's proof this was not an isolated incident. I haven't been the only customer this has happened to but hopefully, Arby's corporate will come in and correct the ways of this franchisee. read more

Thank the all mighty meat gods!! The first Arby's in Madera, even if it's on the edge of town it's still close enough for me to consider it local. Onion rings and fries are good, poppers not so much. I prefer the cheddar poppers and Arby's has cream cheese filled -No bueno. Sandwiches are pretty good, and if you need some meat they got it! Did I say meat yet? YES they have the meat! Oh yeah there's more, this new location is part of the new Loves truck stop off Ave 17 and Hwy 99. Can't believe I'm giving a bad review of Arbys.... Just seems wrong since it's one of my favorite fast food places but I just have to. Gonna keep this short since well it may just be a fluke during Covid and material shortages everywhere but how does an Arbys run out of roast beef? I went to order 2 medium sandwiches and they told me they were out... then she says they have enough to make one regular so I say ok, then she says oh wait we have enough to make 2 regulars- this is odd. So I got 2 regulars instead of 2 mediums or even just one medium. I feel upsold in some sneaky way. Seriously, out of roast beef? Also the bread was old and dry. Arbys usually has good bread but this was not- good thing I put all the meat into one sandwich so I only had to eat one set of buns. The turkey club house ranch sandwich was fine and the fries were fine but the chicken nuggets were.... Unusual to say the least. The breading to the texture of the meat inside was kinda disturbing. It was like an experiment of a new cooking and batter technique gone wrong. We also ordered a couple cookies and salted caramel chocolate chip sure sounded good in theory, but the cookies tasted dry and hard as if they sat out a couple days. This was disappointing because there were a lot of Arbys we passed on our way but this one was about half way but on the way back we will know better. Now I know I ranted a bit but, it is during Covid and the supply chain is a little off so maybe take this with a grain of salt, but this is a national corporation which should be on the ball better. This is kind of weird but when I was a teenager we had an Arby's in my hometown and I ordered food there one afternoon and it was so horrible that I literally became a vegetarian for the next 12 years. Fast forward an additional 30 years or so and I found myself at another Arby's after heading home from a work event. After looking at the menu online I chose a chicken wrap of some sort with jalapeños. The description said it wasn't extremely hot although I don't mind hot foods I wasn't looking for extreme heat. It also came with curly fries and a drink. I will say that I enjoyed my drink but other than that most of it actually went to the trash I ate half of the wrap but it was full of jalapeños and lettuce. Very spicy even for someone who enjoys hot foods. The curly fries were pretty pathetic pieces of curls and looked like they had been in a warmer for many hours although we had eaten during noon time. Although this wasn't bad enough to make me go back to vegetarianism I will not be visiting an Arby's again. Definitely not worth the cost or the calories. read more

I'm originally from the Midwest and ate at Arby's often but I moved to California 16 years ago and haven't had any Arby's food until I saw this Arby's a few days ago. I live in Chowchilla so it's about 9 miles from my house and it's open 24hrs so it's well worth the drive. When I stopped there, it was around 3:30 am and there were only 2 other customers in the place. We got our food pretty fast and it was all freshly made. They didn't have crinkle fries and they would only serve potato cakes before 1030 am. They would not budge on the potato cakes at all. Never had Arby's before. We finally got one where I live. Their commercials had me wanting to try the fish sandwich. What a big let down. Service was very good but the fish sandwich itself. . The fish was luke warm. The lettuce was dull and slightly brown. It was chopped up and fell all over my car when I tried to eat it. Tarter sauce was not spread evenly so some bites had none to very lil. Tarter sauce was a tad bit too sweet and over powered the fish and last but not least the bread was very dull and dry. I visited this Arby's on 7/24/20. My wife and I went through the drive through and waited 15 minutes just to get to the order speaker. When we got there we were told they were OUT of ROAST BEEF. WHAT? Does KFC run out of chicken????? YES! They were out of roast beef. I waiting that long because I wanted a beef and cheddar but they were out of roast beef and said it would be an HOUR before they had any more. I was STUCK in the drive through with all the cars behind me and in front of me so to redeem the time I'd already spent in this drive thru I ordered a brisket sandwich. Another 15 minutes went by before we got our food. The young man apologized for being out of roast beef but didn't offer us anything to make it right. The brisket sandwich was dry on one side and soggy and fatty on the others. It wasn't very good. I took the survey and told them about it and got a response saying they would contact that Arby's and have them contact me. Never heard from them. read more
