First of all I should have known not to go thru the drive thru, I ordered online and was just picking up.. got to speaker and girl said "Not taking orders you have to come inside!" I tried to say I was only picking up and I was rudely told the same thing before I could get my sentence out. I again said I was only picking up and after a loud sigh and sarcastic ok, we went to the window. Our drinks were rushed out the window and window slammed before we could ask for straws and sauce. When we finally got her attention she rolled her eyes and closed the window again, I could see nothing but young people working and mostly girls laughing and standing around. When she returned she all put tossed the bag out the window and closed it before we could ask for plastic ware. I have been to 2 KFCs in the last few months and no more. The one in Chowchilla, CA couldn't take the time from their chat session to wait on us so we left. The one in Madera, was terrible. How does a restaurant stay in business with a rating of 1.2 stars? I went into KFC in Madera today and let me tell you the reviews on Yelp about this place are 100% true. They SUCK. I waited at the front counter for about five minutes while employees worked on ONE drive-thru order and managers complained about schedules. I finally told one of the managers if someone didn' take my order I was going to leave. Instead of handling my order herself she called someone out of the back and her first words to me weren't "Welcome to KFC". It was "I have other things to do". When I questioned whether she really just said that to me, a customer, she got really rude. The manager even got rude when she should have offered an apology. Yes, she may have side work, but the reason she is there and the reason she has a job is to get me mt chicken. I did not go into KFC today to take any shit from a 20-year old cashier. I went there to try out these new chicken bowls the company has been advertising. When we got our bowls I looked at the advertisement in the window and wondered where the rest of my food was. I have uploaded what I got and what KFC says they should look like. Where is the heaping mash potatoes, where is all the big chunks of chicken? I know it's only three busks but for god sakes try to match the photo. Now I know why they say Fastway Chicken is the best chicken in Madera. Because KFC is a horrible, horrible place. Only KFC in Madera and has horrible service. Have been here maybe 3 times within the last year and every time they are completely out of chicken. Their staff encourages you to not order by stating that it will take close to an hour to prep the chicken. Not sure what the problem is, as I thought we only had a wing shortage. KFC ... ahh if you like fried chicken and you like their soft buns and gravy. Then this is the place to go. I don't come here as often as I do for other fast food joints. But when I do come, I enjoy getting the 10 piece chicken meal... I will say it's a bit pricey (at least for me) but it does the job. The chicken pieces that I've gotten have been very juicy and meaty. I tend to get the Extra Crispy, I have yet to try the Kentucky Grilled Option and the Original Recipe. And when it comes to sauces.. I would recommend getting the Butterly Spread. I also like that this KFC has the option of delivery as most fast food joints do. So if you don't want to get out of the house in this cold weather .. then I would recommend doing the delivery. It will save you a bit of gas money and we'll during these COVID-19 times... it's a nice way of not getting contaminated. read more

My wife and I wanted some KFC. We live in Coarsegold and decided to drive the back way to KFC in Madera. We entered the drive through lane. We ordered a $20.00 fill up. Because we live 45 minutes away, I requested plates, kind of hard to eat mashed potatoes, and coleslaw with no plates or forks. We got to the window to pay, I asked if we could add some apple pies. The lady said no. She said they did not sell them anymore. I asked why not? She said she did not control what they sold, in a very sarcastic manner. She asked how many plates do you need. I said 2. We paid for our order and left. Because we live 45 minutes away, we stopped to eat in the car. Cold chicken and potatoes and gravy are not good. We looked for plates and forks, NONE. 6 Months ago, we decided to never go to this unit again. The customer service, quality of food, and the restaurant appearance was absolutely terrible. Last night after leaving, Walmart we decided to give this unit one more try. Before entering the restaurant, I took a close look outside and the parking lot was free of trash, the flower beds looked very good and the window/glass door was clean. Upon entering the restaurant I noticed the dining room has a few customers and the appearance of the dining room itself, dining tables and chairs were all very clean and presentable. I must also add the area where the drink machine, straws, napkins, etc was very clean and neatly organized. Beginning with the cashier taking our order and even suggesting different menu items (This has NEVER happened before) and politely responding to our questions. I have to say his attitude and overall appearance was exceptional. The other employee's working in the prep area were all smiles and even acknowledged us (This has NEVER happened before) while they were preparing not only our order but the orders from the drive thru. The atmosphere in this restaurant was welcoming with some quiet chatter from other guest in the dining room. Once we received our order and made it home, our food was HOT and FRESH..And all of our orders had been made correctly. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I came into for a quick bite and was not even greeted for about 5 mins as I stood waiting. Mind you I was the only dine-in customer at the time and they had several people standing next to an over filled trash can. I asked for a number 13 (I was too annoyed to realize she didn't even read back my order) and instead I ended up getting an entirely different order - didn't waste my time trying to fix it as it was around the same price point and I was over it. Then cashier gives me a cup that's dirty with sauce splattered on it. . As I scan the room to sit I see about 5-6 tables that are dirty and not cleaned. Not to mention as you sit in the dining room you can hear them talking about ridiculous topics and not even communicating their orders as they did have a long drive thru line. So, the trash is over filling in the kitchen visible to patrons getting ready to pay for an order, poor customer service to the single person waiting in line, guessing orders, being okay with giving out dirty cups, dirty tables (not once did they attempt to clean the tables while I was eating and about 4 different groups walked in to dine during that time period... like cmon son lol). I get it it's KFC and it's in madera, but at least attempt to make the place a welcoming area to eat at and want to continue to patronize.
