Walnut cake was bland and dry. Cream puff custard also not good (not creamy or custardy, more like globs of sweet, coagulated pudding)
    Larry S.

Really wanted to like this seemingly neighborhood bakery. The woman in the front wasn't that friendly during a 8am weekday visit (and I was the only one in the store). I asked about a particular item (almond cookies) and she had no idea if they had any. Like really? That seems like a staple or at least know that you don't have it. The 3 desserts bought were just meh. Custard tart was very sweet and the walnut cake was bland. Giant cream puff had custard that wasn't creamy or flavorful. Honestly, a stop at the grocery store bakery would have been comparable or better. Don't recommend.

The cake was so good. It was nicely decorated. I will definitely go back to try another one.

I would definitely order it again! The steak is not like a prime steak BUT everything had flavor! For desert I HAD to get the pecan brownie and the caramel brownie cause I'm a brownie connoisseur I like my brownies warmed up and these are good but I'll update my review once I have them warmed up with a warm coffee. It had to be new; when I lived in the area five years ago, it simply didn't exist. I'm a firm believer in supporting local businesses, so I made a spontaneous U-turn and decided to see what this place was all about. Serendipity, it turns out, has excellent taste! First impressions were strong. A generous parking lot, a welcoming outdoor patio, and the kind of calm confidence that suggests a place run with intention. Inside, I was greeted by a young cashier who was warm, sweet, and effortlessly professional. The pastry and cake display immediately pulled me in, but curiosity led me to ask about breakfast. She walked me through an impressively wide menu, and my eyes locked onto the ajarski--beautifully described as a boat-shaped dough crowned with cheese and two large eggs. I asked her to add protein, and I chose to go with bacon. A double espresso sealed the deal. The interior is spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with large windows framing Foothill Boulevard and the rolling Tujunga hills beyond. I took a seat facing the window, soaking in the view as the city moved quietly outside. The espresso arrived first--rich, full-bodied, and perfectly textured, not the watered-down imitation too often passed off as a "double." Then came the ajarski. Let me be clear: I've traveled extensively and eaten ajarski in many corners of the world. What landed on my table here was on another level. Every detail was dialed in. The cheese melted luxuriously, the bacon was savory perfection, and the dough--golden, airy, and baked at just the right temperature--delivered depth of flavor with every bite. This wasn't just good; it was intentional cooking, executed with care and pride. I lingered, enjoying the ambiance, the food, and the attentive service. The tip was more than deserved. This place is professionally run, thoughtfully curated, and genuinely uplifting. It put a smile on my face and gave me the kind of energy that carries you through the rest of the day. Highly recommended. A true neighborhood gem--and one I'll be returning to often.

I happened to be at the tire shop across the street getting the tires changed on my car and needed to pick up some pastries for guests that were coming over that same day. One of those guests happens to be a baker so I really needed to find some fresh delicious pastries. I checked Yelp for nearby bakeries and La Jaconde popped up with really great reviews so I drove right across the street and picked up some baked goods. I picked up this big pastry that was stuffed with cream cheese and sour cherries (TRUST ME you want this), a box of mixed cookies and bite sized goodies, and a box of stuffed dates (don't knock it until you try it). EVERYTHING was fresh. Everything was tasty. And it got the stamp of approval from the baker friend. The cream cheese and sour cherry stuffed bakery literally disappeared in 10 minutes, and that thing was not small by any means. I returned to this same place the following week to pick up some savory baked goods for some friends, and the owner was at the shop and was so kind and so proud of his products (as he should be). Needless to say this is going to be my bakery of choice. I'd drive past 5 shops to get to this one any day.

Her mother texted asking if we could bring pastries. It was after 6 p.m., so I turned to trusty Yelp to see what might still be open between Montrose and our destination. This bakery came up, so we stopped in to give it a try. One gentleman was minding both the bakery and the liquor store next door. It wasn't that busy at either place, but he did have to run between the two. He let us know that he'd be right with us, so we had time to look around. The baked goods cases were about half full at 7:00 at night. The man helping us didn't really know anything about the fillings of some of the items that weren't self-explanatory. He got our selections packed up nicely, but it would have been helpful to be able to get more info about some of the cakes/pastries. SG (age 5) boldly chose a cream puff for herself. I wasn't sure if she would like it, but once we got to her house she happily scarfed down half of it, saving the other half for the next day. Dear Hubby and I picked several layers cake pieces, and I added two chocolate-filled cookies. He went for a cannoli, of which they had several options of fillings. I think our daughter and son-in-law made out the best, as we weren't sure what they would like so we got them some Black & White cake, honey cake, espresso cake, and some of the chocolate-filled cookies. It was a dessert-tasting feast to wind up the weekend when we arrived at their place.

After waiting nearly 40 minutes, our food finally arrived -- and I was honestly shocked by the portion size and the poor quality of the avocado toast (I'll attach the photo). After politely speaking to the waiter and waiting for assistance, no one came back. I eventually had to go inside myself and speak directly to the owner. Instead of resolving the issue properly, she simply said they couldn't remake it and offered "extra avocado" instead. After waiting another 5 minutes, she told me to go sit outside and they would bring it out. They brought very tiny avocado slices. What should have been a beautiful Mother's Day experience was completely ruined. In the end, my husband had to go inside and request a refund. We are beyond disappointed and will never return.
