Coooooooooooookies..........calling all cookie monsters! You know that myth of the small neighborhood bakery that's really awesome that no one has heard of but makes fantastic cookies? It exits. I have proof. Listen up: So on my way to the movies (we saw "Selma"! Great movie....David Oyelowo was robbed of an Oscar nom..... btw, Yelp powers-that-be, we need Yelp-for-Movies! Sorry, I digress.......), I was feeling hungry and remembered that there was this little bakery that I'd been meaning to check out 'cause it always looks crowded. So I stopped in and asked what was good. The lady recommended nazook, which is an Armenian walnut pastry, so of course I bought a box. And for good measure, she threw in a bunch of free samples of cookies, which was so nice of her! And, guess what, the cookies won. They were truly delicious. A wide variety of cookies were in my bag including some types that I'd had before (filled with jam) and some that I hadn't (the #9 and a small round doughnut shaped cookie with a type of seed......delicious!) The nazook did not blow my socks off but that may be because it's an acquired taste. Service was great. This would have been a 5-star review but for the fact that their sign said "coffee" and there was none. Cookies without coffee is like bread without butter. I got a Flat White at a nearby Starbucks but would much rather have had coffee at the bakery, Armenian coffee or otherwise. Cooooooooooooookies........that's the take-away for me. Enjoy! read more

Natalie's Pastry did our wedding cake and it was amazing! What we wanted: We wanted a fondant cake with quilting and some cute lace design. I also wanted fresh flowers on the cake, so all in all we did not want something crazy extravagant. We wanted a cake that looked like a cake. Why we Chose Natalie's: Edo make my fiancé and I feel sooo comfortable. We knew he was glad to make our wedding cake and was not trying to price gouge us like everywhere else. He would do a 4 tier fondant cake with three tiers of Bavarian cream and one tier of carrot cake. The Bottom Line: He charged us 500 dollars four our beautiful and delicious cake!!! Considering what Art's Bakery and Roobina's Cakes ( Over 1000 dollars) were trying to charge us, I think we got an amazing deal! read more

Not a big fan of their pastries or cakes but they have freshly baked bread throughout the day so that's always a plus. While there are better bakerys in Glendale like Lord & Villa or Arts, this place survives for one simple reason, their location. They are located in a neighborhood densly populated with mostly Armenian and Middle Eastern customers, who, for the most part, walk to do their shopping, and the nearest competitor is a good 15 blocks away. Anotherwords, should a mediocre bakery decide to open within 3-4 blocks, this place would definitely be in trouble. In closing, if Peter Clemenza from the Godfather shopped here, he would of probably said "leave the pastry, take the bread"... read more

We've been buying barbari bread here for years and was one of my favorite places until today. I bought 2 barbari's. When I walked out, I tore off a piece and took a bite (something I always do). It had a burnt taste. I looked at it and it was dark on the top. The other one looked fine. I went back inside and let them know that one of them was burnt a bit on the top. I asked if they can exchange that one...btw, this bread only cost $1.80. She said, "I'm sooo sorry, I can't exchange it." I said "Are you serious? The bread is burnt!" She said "Maybe if the owner was here, he could do something for you." I said "I'm shocked!" Ummmm, I've only heard those words at a car dealership and department store, but instead of 'owner', they say 'manager'. If I was the owner of that business, I would be sooo embarrassed that my employee gave a customer burnt bread and would be beyond happy to exchange it for another. Sooo...now they get a bad review because they didn't want to lose $1.80. read more

I've only tried a few of their pastries which is luckily their specialty. When it came to the peraski it wasn't the best I've had. You could tell the oil was left out for awhile, and it wasn't fresh. I personally prefer my peraskis to be warm. All in all it's a nice place and close to my work place so they get points for that. read more

The best pastries in town! I have been to a few bakeries in Glendale. There are so many! I have only been to a few such as Porto's Bakery, Paris Baguette (unfortunately the worst pastries I have ever had), Paradise Pastry & Cafe and maybe two more. I thought Porto's Bakery was like an all natural bakery. But if you research the ingredients in their cakes they use a lot of unnatural ingredients. It's basically like buying a cake from Ralphs preservative wise. Although I am sure the quality is higher at Porto's. I remember asking Natalies in the past if the cakes were homemade and they said yes, we make them here. But I am not certain if they use all natural ingredients, possibly not. Overall in Glendale if you go to the pastry shops they are very similar to one another. I have been to Natalies several times and I always thought it was very good. But man recently maybe I just got super lucky but I have to say it was the BEST tasting and FRESH pastry I have ever had in my life! I couldn't believe how melt in your mouth yummy it was! Especially their Rolls. I think they "specialize" in roll cakes I forget the name but its the cake where they put jelly and them roll the cake and top it off with cream. Literally melt in your mouth good! I need to be careful because I don't want to gain 100 lbs, but this place is addicting! The staff are nice as well! read more

I can't believe this place, I got some pasties, I was so excited to eat it. Had my dinner, went for pastry, it was dry and the cream was spoiled, and tasted old. I called them as a favor for them to warn them, I didn't want money and was not going to drive back to exchange. She insisted it was new and I insisted it was not, couldn't believe she didn't offer to do anything about it, not like I would have accepted, but could have tried. I came here with my grandma at 7,30 pm Tuesday July 29th and I will never come here again. I urge you not to buy anything from this store that treat elderly the way this middle aged woman did. My grandma was picking up random pastry to take a closer look at it because her eye sight is bad. These idiots at Natalie bakery put the pastry in the cheapest aluminum holder and they have the balls to with an attitude tell my grandma that she should stop lifting them up " because she already ruined 3". Great Bread and OK Pastry! We used to shop from this bakery a lot when we lived near it for about 6 years, but when we moved we stopped coming. The place has excellent bread, but their pastries and cakes are alright. Don't get me wrong they have really good pastries/cakes that are designed and decorated amazingly, but they are a little too dry (esp. the cakes). On the other hand, their bread really is one of the greatest in all of Glendale esp. their sandwich bread, in fact my mom sometimes still buys them when she has errands to run in that part of the town. Their service is pretty good and they have other stuff that you can buy as well such as pistachio, seeds, chocolate, and much more. Also, they make super CUTE paskas for Easter!!!! =] read more

This place has offered me only but the best, hands down. After searching for a bakery to do my wedding cake, someone suggested I try this place out. They offered an amazing deal, my cake looked absolutely stunning, and it also tasted delicious. There's never been a time where I've been satisfied with the price, look, AND taste. Ever since, I've been going to this bakery for everything else. I have somewhat of a drive to get there and I really wish they could relocate next-door :) if you're looking for something else that's amazing, you gotta try their barbari bread and their fruit tarts.
