I visited this bakery intending to place an order for a custom cake, but after my interaction with the front staff, I decided to walk out and take my business elsewhere. I had questions about a cake order, and instead of receiving helpful or courteous service, I was met with a VERY rude and dismissive attitude. The way I was spoken to was EXTREMELY unprofessional and made me feel like my wish to place an order was an inconvenience rather than appreciated. Customer service is a huge part of any business, especially when customers are trusting you with special occasions. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary, just basic kindness and respect. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience at all. Because of the way I was treated, I chose not to place my order. There are plenty of bakeries in Glendale/Burbank that make customers feel welcomed and valued. I hope management addresses how customers are to be spoken to. There is a small seating area with couches and a small parking lot. We've been customers for 2 years now and love their Christmas themed pastries and many of their cake especially the big triple chocolate cake which is pretty light and tasty! I know some people are complaining about customer service, we've never experienced it being bad so far, everyone's been good but tbh no business is perfect and for the taste of the pastries it's okay. Went here today and am pleased to say that it is nothing like the run of the mill Armenian pastry shops. Needless to say, that is long overdue. The pastries are beautiful and delicious; another rare combination. I was assisted by Rafi himself, who was so kind and knowledgeable. It is evident that his heart and soul are in this business. He went out of his way to deliver excellent service. I got the eclair and cream puff. He was also kind enough to give me some things on the house to taste, which was so unexpected and very much appreciated. I asked about the mikado, which I discovered was in a beautiful packaging and ready to gift a lucky recipient. Skip this place and avoid disappointment. Our first and last purchase at Rafi's Pastry was a stale birthday cake. It was hard and dry as if it had been in a refrigerator for two weeks. We called the bakery the next day and they said it was baked fresh that day, no apologies. They did tell us to bring it back but for what purpose? The party was over and more than half of the small cake was already in the garbage. We did try to support a small, local business but Vons has fresher cakes for less. Lesson learned. read more

Rafi is by far the kindest human being ever. I went in about a month and a half before our event to do cake tasting and order my parents' 50th anniversary cake. He made little samples of everything for us. He recommended the most popular flavors and we went by what he recommended. I emailed him the picture and he created the exact same thing and he added the 50 on top per his recommendation. Let me tel you how amazing the cake turn out and it tasted wonderful. We are the left overs for the next 3-4 days and it still tasted so fresh. As a gift he also made us little pastries and other cute things so we could take home after our event. That was an added bonus at no extra charge. His price is very fair and I really loved and appreciated the extra thing that he made for us. He is my family's go to guy for our cakes, wish I had more pictures of our other events so I could post them all. He also did many other cakes for our events and they all tasted and looked great. I had the worst experience ever here. I ordered a cake for my 30th birthday along with other pastries and treats. I arrived to pick up my cake and it was not ready and I got yelled at for demanding where my cake was when I was there at the time they told me to arrive. I was late to my own birthday party and ended up leaving the bakery crying. The owner told me to leave without a cake and go buy one from Ralph's. Luckily my sister was with me and she calmed everyone down and told them we'd wait for the cake to be done. Close to an hour later, the cake was decorated and ready but he nearly ruined my birthday.
