He was extremely knowledgeable about solar and made the process of designing our system straightforward and easy. Because I had travel plans, we couldn't start immediately, but the Syndy team scheduled our installation for Jul 27 - 28. Everything went exactly as planned. The materials arrived on Jul 24, and Martin and his crew, showed up right on time at 7:45 AM on Jul 27. They worked incredibly hard, efficiently completing most of the installation that day and returning the next day to finish the remaining panels and cleanup. That evening, seeing our panels generating solar energy for the first time was an amazing feeling! PG&E installed the Tesla Backup Switch a few days later, and everything seemed to be moving perfectly - until our Livermore city inspection on Aug 7. Unfortunately, we failed because an approved heat detector had not been installed. I was extremely disappointed. It felt like having an amazing present sitting right in front of me but not being able to open it! There were a few additional hiccups, but Jason stepped in, took ownership of the heat detector issues, and worked to get everything resolved. We finally passed inspection and received our permit on Aug 26, followed by PG&E Permission to Operate (PTO) on Aug 28. A huge thank you to the entire Synergy Power team: - Martin, Eliel, Manuel, and Nate for the excellent installation - Rebekah, Melissa, Mark, and Amy for keeping us informed - Jason for stepping in and getting the final issues resolved Overall, we are extremely happy with our solar system and grateful to the entire Synergy Power team for seeing the project through from start to finish. The design and contract review was done online in a timely fashion and it was a swift transition to installation taking place in just one day, as the the lead installer (Antonio) was joined with two co-workers who explained how the project would move forward and answered all my questions. In 2024, I replaced my router which set off a chain of events. I was unable to connect my new router to my solar panels. I called Semper Solaris, who directed me to call Enphase, who directed me to call semper Solaris to send a technician after their troubleshooting did not work. I even reinstalled my previous router with no luck. Short story, I called Semper Solaris and they schedule me a technician for a whopping $500 service fee upfront without even diagnosing the problem. Not covered by warranty and per their management about waving the fee or reducing the fee, "Sorry, nothing they could do." I cancelled the technician. This was in 2024, and I have not been able to connect to my solar panels since then. Buyers be aware

We contacted the business in late July of last year to see about installing a solar system on our home before the end of the year. Within in days, Alessandro was here to meet us in person and provided us with a comprehensive breakdown for solar options and pricing. We loved that we were treated like actual people instead of a number in a queue. Given that there was a slight backlog of jobs they had to work through we were assured that we would have our system fully installed and activated before the end of the year, which we did! It was great working with Nick who was our onsite rep and Juan was always available to answer any questions we had by phone (of which I had many). Despite the number of times I called, he was always patient with me and provided detailed answers that gave me a better picture of our installation and how our system would operate moving forward. I can't say enough about how amazing the whole process was. Looking at our electrical bills right now and we're in awe of all of the savings we're getting, which validates our decision to purposefully oversize our system. If and when we decide to install a car charging station in our home we're definitely going back to Sunlight!

I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. I had a frustrating experience with Your Energy Solutions regarding a warranty transfer. We were later charged $500 with no prior breakdown or explanation of the fee. I clearly communicated that I would be the one paying this charge. Despite that, the service department reached out directly to the buyer and asked who would be paying. This unnecessary contact created confusion and complications during the escrow process that could have easily been avoided. The lack of transparency on the warranty transfer fee and the poor internal communication caused more stress than necessary. Businesses handling real estate-related services should be more careful with both contract clarity and how they communicate with parties involved in a transaction.

I want to start by saying I don't understand all the negative comments. People with solar systems…read morethat are years old and complaining about Tru Up bills.. the prices from PGE have gone up dramatically over past few years and you need to still use energy conservation once panels are installed. Lastly, financing anything comes with additional costs. A great way to avoid the finance charges is pay cash or get your own loan under terms that fit your financial needs. It is my understanding that 1st Light Energy does NOT finance solar systems but outsources that for customers who need/want to go that route. After considering these three facts let's move on to my review. Garrett was my point of contact person and he was upfront about the costs versus my savings. He called a month prior to my appointment for installation because he had a cancellation and I was able to get them installed the same day! Any questions I have had he is a email away and has been friendly, honest, and helpful. Fast forward three years I have now installed panels again on my second home. Same great company and customer service. Same situation where the company had a cancellation and I was able to get my panels installed sooner than expected. A year from my second installed panels has past. I never had done a review and realized it was time to do so! Fun fact, this is a small local business that the owner and his brother (co-owner? Idk ) both work at. I highly recommend this company!

I am filing a complaint against 1st Light Energy for poor service, excessive fees, and lack of…read moreaccountability. We discovered a roof leak and, not knowing the cause, contacted the company since they installed our panels. Their response was that "if it didn't leak when the panels were installed, then it's not our problem," and they even wanted to charge us to send a technician. We were also told it would cost over $10,000 to remove and reinstall the panels so repairs could be done--an outrageous quote from the original installer. Additionally, they said our system needs to be upgraded from 3G to 5G for monitoring. The panels were originally installed with 3G towers--standard at the time--but now they want $800 to switch to 5G, claiming it's "no one's fault but the government." This is unreasonable; a reputable company should stand by its installations without shifting blame or costs to the customer. Our assigned representative, April Miner (aminer@1stle.com), was rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. Every request for clarification was met with deflection. Instead of offering solutions, 1st Light Energy continually finds new ways to charge customers additional fees. We were promised a 25-year warranty, but it appears to cover nothing. Each step of the process--removal, reinstallation, inspection, and basic upgrades--comes with another charge. It's clear this company's focus is on profit, not service. At this point, we question the point of having solar panels if we're forced to pay thousands just to maintain them. This is not the integrity or support customers expect from a company promoting "sustainability" and "long-term reliability." Homeowners, beware: 1st Light Energy offers poor service, an empty warranty, and constant hidden costs.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!

We were interested in solar for our 1940s home and provided a deposit in good faith. However, after further inspection of our roof and the overall project viability, we decided not to move forward. When we requested our deposit back--before any equipment was ordered or installation began--the company initially refused, claiming it was 'passed' the point of a refund. It was a high-pressure situation where we felt they were trying to lock us into a contract we weren't comfortable with. While we did eventually receive our deposit back after pushing the issue, the initial refusal to return funds for work not performed was a major red flag. Homeowners should be very careful with the fine print here. If you are looking for a company that values transparency and customer comfort over just 'closing the deal,' I would suggest looking elsewhere. We're glad we didn't get stuck with them and are instead putting that money into improvements that actually fit our home.
