The estimate started off on the wrong foot when the salesman examined my existing unit and confidently told me it was installed 20 years ago. I replied it's 13 years old and he argued with me and told me I was wrong until I showed him how to read the serial number which clearly says it was manufactured the 6th week of 2013. I'd also contacted the city and gotten the permit details. So there was a credibility issue with this guy right off the bat. When his estimate came in nearly $6,000 above the next closest estimate and I told him that, he chose to argue without knowing anything about the other estimates, telling me those other competitors are using inferior equipment and installation standards. The installation must be inspected the city so how inferior can it be? He also felt it appropriate to repeatedly argue and tell me I'm incorrect about the actual value his system would add when I choose to sell the home. Telling me I will recoup the full amount spent on the system he's recommending when I sell my home is just incorrect for my particular home. And to argue wth me, the homeowner who's been here over a decade is just ridiculous. As if I haven't had conversations with a realtor about what does and doesn't add appropriate value to my particular home when it comes to selling. I even broke it down for him with actual examples of what does and doesn't make sense upgrading to sell the home and was told I'm wrong on that as well. He also felt the need to point out when I objected to the overall cost, that in his words, my father in law paid for a tankless water heater from Honey's. This is incorrect. That money came from me. I just happened to be out of town at the time my old water heater went out and it needed to be replaced. It was a weird thing to say, highly insulting, and had no bearing on the AC estimate. The salesman made sure to tell me he's been with Honey's for 25 years. If this is the type of person they hire and keep on their payroll for that long, that speaks a lot about the core values of Honey's and what they're all about. Overall based on this experience, I would never again have Honeys Air & Solar in my home for any reason nor would I recommend them to anyone. And anyone I know that's looking for services that Honey's offers, will hear about my experience. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

We have made multiple phone calls over the years needing assistance with system issues and were constantly told someone would call us back. Those calls rarely happened, to the point that my husband drove 40 miles to their office just to speak to someone in person - with no resolution. Because SIG solar failed to provide support, WE had to contact the inverter manufacturer, twice in the past few years to get the system functioning, something the installer should have handled. When we just recently realized that we needed our roof replaced, SIG solar charged us $8000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels. We had to pay it because we did not want to do anything to jeopardize our warranty, effectively forcing us into this expense. This company appears focused on sales, not long-term service. For a major investment like solar, this level of non-responsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Experiences like this are why homeowners rely on consumer protection and contractor oversight agencies.

This gave me additional confidence because I previously had a bad experience with another solar company that damaged my roof, failed to fix the problem, and later went out of business, leaving me to pay for the repairs myself. Our sales representative, Jon Bernal, was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. There was one item that the system designer later clarified, and although it wasn't a major issue, Jon personally reached out to notify me of the changes. That level of integrity and accountability meant a lot to me and demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his customers. The installation crew was professional, arrived on time, kept the work area clean, and communicated well throughout the process. After installation, I noticed a section of concrete that had become uneven due to settling. Our first meeting with Jon was on March 28, we signed on March 30, the system was installed on April 27, the meter collar was installed on May 13, and we received Permission to Operate about a week later. Jon also helped us identify and secure available rebates. I would also like to thank Tara in the office. When I needed copies of my contract documents, she provided them promptly and without hesitation. Another positive observation is that the owner, Oz, appears to be actively involved with the company and personally responds to customer reviews. I noticed this during my initial research and felt it reflected a company that values customer feedback and satisfaction. At the time of this review, SunMade Solar Energy held an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Based on my experience, they delivered competitive pricing, excellent communication, professional workmanship, and outstanding customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend SunMade Solar Energy to anyone considering solar for their home.
