So I hired Sunlectric for our solar needs. One of the suppliers sent me a survey asking how they did. I would tell anyone this was by far the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. Below is the questions posed to me about my experience. 1. How was your solar installation experience? The people from Sunlectric were fantastic from start to finish. I never had a question go unanswered and the Owner, Joe, was even involved in resolving some permitting issues with the County of Stanislaus. I would state the most professional and personal attentions were made toward this major purchase by any company I have ever dealt with 2. Was the salesperson helpful? My salesperson was Matt, all I can say is he was great from initial contact through the whole process. In my experience communication is a key to customer service. I felt informed and involved as much as I wanted. 3. Were the contractor and his crew respectful and professional? I have a large family , dogs,livestock the works. The care and consideration they spent on safety and relationships, even my children, made me feel safe with my small children having contact with the workers. Clean polite and approachable. My wife absolutely thought we made the right choice in who we contracted with for the whole process. Happy wife, happy life! 4. Did they complete it in the time frame they established? On time and left nothing to chance. Everything was done right the first time. 5. Did they leave the area clean during and after the install? Not only did they clean up but made some improvements , no extra charge, to assure my home was safe and secure. From cement , wiring, and dealing with existing older home issues Sunlectric was fantastic. 6. Are you happy with your solar installation and production? Very much so, so much I offered to let them put a sign and leave it up. The amount of attention and professionalism we experienced was just how it should be in a business environment. Big contract , small town feel. 7. Would you recommend Sunlectric to a friend? I have been in the legal profession for 25 years and without a doubt I would put my experience with Joe, Matt and the rest of his company at the top of any recommendation I would ever give. I definitely felt better hiring an electrical contractor compared to a roofing contractor. Just to note I have shared my experiences with Sunlectric on our families social media platform with lots of interest and questions from both friends and family. My family history has contractors from every field and this was truly the right company for our needs. My wife & I, who live in Riverbank, had five solar companies give us written proposals. We also did a fair amount of independent research on solar. We were able to view a Sunlectric solar system on our neighbor's roof that was installed 1.5 years earlier. Our neighbor is very happy with their system and the work done by Sunlectric from start to finish. Our decision to go with Sunlectric was an easy decision in the end. Stephanie was prompt at getting us a proposal and Joe came out to the house to make sure the placement of the panels was optimal. Placement was spot on based on our research and viewing of the other proposals, some of which placed the panels differently. Sunlectric offers various panels. We decided on SunPower with a 25-year warranty. The cost quoted by Sunlectric for our solar system was competitive with the other proposals. Some of the other proposals were lower but that was because they recommended different panels that cost less and did not have as good a warranty as SunPower. Some of the other company salesmen tried to oversell their products and the benefits their systems would provide. Sunlectric did not do this. Sunlectric gave us an estimate of the date of installation and they met that estimate. It took two days to install our solar system, as promised. The lead crew member on our job was Jeff. Joe came out to oversee the job from time to time and do some of the technical work. Sunlectric's entire staff was a pleasure to work with. The installation was clean and professional. Care was taken to minimize the ground view of the electrical connections to our three sets of panels on our roof. Care was also taken to make the solar system electrical boxes, installed next to our main electrical panel, clean looking and out of view as much as possible. Our system has been in operation for a week now (April 2020). We have been monitoring the solar kWh production and have a good estimate of the actual electricity produced on a sunny day and a full cloudy day. The estimate originally provided by Sunlectric was spot on. We examined our PG&E usage and cost of electricity charged by PG&E. Based upon this monitoring and examination, we estimate that we have reduced our PG&E electrical bill by a little over two-thirds. This takes into account the Federal Tax Credit of 26%. What really excites us is that this two-thirds reduced rate is locked in for the next 25 years. We can imagine electrical rates charged by PG&E will continually go up. Perhaps two to three times the current rate over the next 25 years. Yet our electrical cost is now locked in, insulated from future rate increases from PG&E. In closing, we can confidently say that Sunlectric is honest, communicates well, reliable and does quality work. read more

I feel truly blessed to find Sunlectric for my solar project and it was a pleasure dealing with Stephanie for finance, Joe the owner and Josh (one of their technician). From the day I signed the contract (financing was finalized) until my solar went live was about 7 weeks. So, here how it went down - I contacted Stephanie via emails, Joe came over to measure and I signed the contract, I like his honesty and no sales pitch approach. They sent all the permits for city, county and MID and this took the longest time of the project. After everything got approved, install took two days (because I had pigeon guard as well) with 4 crews work diligently. Josh went to the attic and figured out that there's enough room and it's the cleanest way to go to route the conduit. Please be aware some solar companies will charge extra for this but NOT with Sunlectric. 26 SolarWorld panels with 26 Microinverters plus the bird barrier got installed and watching my meter went negative was so exciting I kept starring at it eventhough it was a very hot day! A couple hiccups on my project such as my limited wifi router and a broken breaker, Joe took care of them himself - he's really focusing on customer satisfaction before and after purchase. The conduit looks great and painted, I could see the solar production through the app, no more starring at the meter on hot days! I had contacted the other solar companies which claim to be the #1 roofing company, or the largest solar company, or the #1 highest rating on Yelp for solar in the bay area - I hate them all. I made mistakes with numerous phone calls and even invite them to my house, they were all interested in making sales - not about your solar project completion. After you sign the contract, they wash their hands and put you in the queue before you get assigned to a project coordinator. Then, you are at their mercy because they have to deal with many projects. Beware of these companies they will take months or some of them might even drop off your solar panels on your driveway so that they can charge you but your actual installation date will still be far away. Another negative company I encountered with gave me a very interesting quote by elevating all the numbers and then provide the discount at the end. Also, for leasing only company - do your math and grab your calculator, it doesn't make sense at least in my experience. Some of these companies are also not aware of MID rules and they will install incorrectly, yes....I spoke to the MID technician on the day he installed my solar meter, he's seen it all. read more

Our experience was everything we weren't expecting and more! Our solar system has been working for us for the past 2 months and we could not be happier with the service and total solar experience we received from Sunlectric! We had received over 10 bids from various companies, HERO, PPA, and Solar Leases (multiple companies). Every company pitched us a bid that made sense until you read the fine print and our needs and concerns were never taken into consideration. From day one Sunlectric listened to our concerns, needs, and wants. They designed a system that met every desire we asked for. The system was within the price point we were expecting and they had permits pulled within 24 hours of us saying yes! If anything, the system was installed and up an running much quicker than expected. We had anticipated that the whole process would take over a month to complete and in the heat of summer I think we were installed in a 3-5 day period. The staff was courteous, professional, timely, and neat. They cleaned up after themselves and even painted the conduit to match the existing color of our house since we personally think solar is hideous! We were even able to construct a tree house in the back yard and sometimes literally had to switch ladder space with the crew to ensure that both "construction" projects were completed timely. I had low expectations coming into this "project" based on my interactions with other companies and my husband and I are forever grateful that we took our time and decided on Sunlectric! They paid attention to every detail including the ones that we had not even thought of! We will definitely be referring them to all of our friends and family and my in-laws will be installing solar once construction on their home is complete! Bring them your best questions and concerns! The entire crew was honest, professional, and trustworthy! We don't regret our decision and are so happy we chose Sunlectric! We love it when a sales rep comes to our home to sell us solar and we inform them that we already have 29 panels. The usual response it that they didn't even notice them! I contacted 8 solar companies total when originally getting quotes and assessments. 2 companies told me I had too much shade on my house to even come out to assess options. I ended up going with Sunlectric due to their great customer service, use of high quality parts and general cost of the project and financing options. Joe and Stephanie were EXTREMELY responsive to questions even after the project was complete. The entire install was completed in 3 days when it probably could have been done in 2 days if my roof tiles weren't so brittle. Sunlectric replaced tiles all 3 days they were on location instead of gluing them back together. I never felt they were cutting corners and trying to hide aspects of their process. They used high quality railing and mounting equipment when they could probably easily use cheaper materials and most people wouldn't know the difference. They warranty their install from leaks for up to 10 years which seemed to be standard but they later told me that they have NEVER had a roof leak because of the attention to detail they take when installing. They over do the sealant to ensure no leaks occur due to their mounting points. I have since recommended them to at least 3 other people and would recommend them to anyone interested in getting solar installed. I plan to reach out to them at a later time to go over options for battery storage and whole house generator hookups. My project ended up getting installed in September so I only have October as far as generated power numbers but my October bill had $10 worth of credit towards my true up bill so I will only owe $0.95 to PG&E for the connection fee. I was happily surprised that I still generated more power than I used in October. Looking forward to seeing where we end up at the end of the yearly billing cycle. read more

A huge shout-out to Sunlectric Inc. for our new solar electric system that is negating our $700+ a month summer electric bills. The owners, Joe and Stephanie are beyond awesome, and put up with our questions and changes with a smile, and their lead electrician, Jeff is from up here in Don Pedro, so it was great having a local connection with them. From the initial planning, all the way down to installing the tracking software that works with our Wi-Fi, they were on top of every aspect of the project! After years of hemming and hawing, it was the best decision we ever made, and to top it all off, we received a notice that we were being penalized $100 for "over usage" in June prior to our install. I'm not going to say that we are the most energy conscious, but our household is only 2 adults, 5 dogs and a cat. Excellent experience from the sales meeting to final installation. Joseph and Stephanie evaluated our needs for solar. The other solar companies wanted to install a ~7kw system. I felt the other solar companies were not taking into account our requirements. Sunlectric agreed and planned out a system that should nearly eliminate our PG&E bill. They worked with the homeowners association, the city and PG&E to complete the installation and all inspections and paperwork. The installers had the system completed in 2 days (31panels). PG&E gave the go ahead to turn it on a few days later. The solar system exceeds our expectations. We can run the normal household, a 15 year old pool pump, and the 20 year old air conditioner and we are still putting energy back on the grid during the day. We expect our annual true-up to be zero $ and even a credit. I get a kick out of seeing the pool pump on, the air conditioner on and our smart meter showing we are still pushing electricity back on the grid. The cost for our system was competitive with the smaller solar systems the other "big" solar outfits were charging. Get your solar bids then call Sunlectric. You cannot go wrong! read more

Stephanie went so far as to contact PG&E and got our last year's usage and then tailor fitted a system to make sure that our meter ran backwards. The crew had the entire system installed in less than two days and since they had time to kill for the final inspector to arrive, they checked our entire electrical system in our home and labeled the circuit breaker panel. Jeff also troubleshot an electrical issue we have in our attic...at no charge. After we went "live", Joe came out and installed a monitoring system that we can read on our computer and phone to see how the system is performing on a minute to minute basis. The owner Joe did an amazing job, I even made it somewhat difficult by asking him to build my panels 8' off the ground 100' from my house with a water proof roof under the panels so that I could use it for a patio at a later date. He not only had the plans made but brought back electrical wiring and put up a sub panel so that when I built my pool I wouldn't have to pay twice to have a tench cut again for future projects. all was done by code and his crew worked to get the project done with no delays. he passed every inspection with flying colors and I have recommended him to all my family and friends. I don't write many reviews and I didn't get anything for writing this one but I felt that after two years I am still happy and wanted to pass the word to anyone looking to get solar. I recently had Joe and his team from Sunlectric install a full solar system on my house. I had 4 bids and Sunlectric was very competitive, but had the personal touch unlike the bigger outfits. They came out and inspected everything so as to get it right, did all the PG&E paperwork and were able to get a bigger system approved than the others. Jeff and his team were friendly, cleaned up and let me show them where I wanted the conduit to run so it looked how I wanted it. They even asked me for paint so they could paint the conduit.
