We ordered the chicken picatta and sole picatta to-go, tipped despite not dining in, and drove 20 miles home. When we opened the boxes, both orders were incorrect. According to the board menu, the sole picatta comes with arugula, beets, pistachios, and potatoes (no capers), and the chicken picatta comes with capers, spinach, and potatoes. Instead, both dishes came with pasta and none of the listed sides. More concerning, the sole had capers--even though we specifically asked when ordering because my partner is allergic and were told it does not include them. Meanwhile, the chicken picatta, which should have had capers, had none. Portions were also quite small for the $22 price point. We tried calling the restaurant eight times with no answer. After contacting the liquor store it's located inside, we were told to call back in five minutes. When we did, the call wouldn't even go through. Since we couldn't reach anyone, we drove the 20 miles back to Buellton to request a refund. When I showed the chef the incorrect dishes, he insisted the picatta dishes come with pasta and produced a small, crumpled paper menu from under the counter showing that version. We were never given this menu and ordered solely from the board displayed above. There was no apology and no offer to remake the meals, only a refund when I requested it. The employee who originally helped us acknowledged they "haven't gotten around" to updating the board menu. Other reviews mention similar issues with discrepancies between the board and the paper menu, which suggests this is an ongoing problem. Thankfully, we received a refund and our tip back, but we drove a total of 60 miles and ended up without dinner, eventually eating at Blaze Pizza at 9:45pm after ordering from you at 6:15pm. Despite this disappointing experience, we would be willing to give your restaurant another try if complimentary meal vouchers could be offered. We understand that busy periods can lead to mistakes, but the lack of accountability and apology was the most frustrating part. Acknowledging errors and making things right builds trust. For the festival, streets were shut down but you'll typically find parking on the street, or in the nearby lots. Nice thing is that they're free too. At least the ones I've parked at. Panino isn't a full service restaurant. Order at the counter and wait for your order to be brought to your table, or for your name to be called if it's to go. Your order includes your drinks up front so if you want something else, get back in line and order again. Inside the shop, there's seating for about five/six people. Most were sitting outside. Your order is brought to you outside too if you're wondering. I ordered me a Half/Half. Half sandwich (Italian) and a half salad (Caprese) See pics. I enjoyed the salad. I was craving it so it hit the spot. The mozzarella cheese and fresh greens. The sandwich, I liked, but didn't love. It wasn't about the ingredients (even the green peppers which I've never seen on an Italian nor leaves of lettuce as opposed to them being shredded). If the dressing were more tangy, I wouldn't say I'd love it but at least crush on it a little so for me, Panino's version was ok. I wouldn't order it again knowing what I know but if someone shared a half with me, I wouldn't turn it down. Anyway, there's a long list of sandwiches on the menu. It was loaded with flavor from the Conservas Ortiz white tuna, boquerones, piquillo peppers, egg, arugula, and tonnato sauce. Honestly, I took one bite and completely forgot to take a proper picture. That's usually a good sign. We also tried the Kobe Sando, which was very tasty as well. The bread was a little firmer than I personally prefer, but it still worked well with the sandwich and didn't take away from the overall experience. We sat outside along the side of the restaurant and really enjoyed the seating area. Inside, the deli is just as interesting. They have displays of aged meats and a walk-in room arcade that feels like a hidden gem. It's a unique touch that adds a lot of character to the space. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. Great food, great atmosphere, and great hospitality. Can't wait to come back and work my way through more of the menu.

The portion was quite big so we had to take it to go but it was also great to eat cold straight from the fridge. They offer unique choices like Stilton, horseradish cheddar, and several English cheeses (plus plenty of brie options that work beautifully on their sandwiches). It's not your typical deli lineup, which makes the menu fun to explore. We ordered the half sandwich and half salad combo, which was the perfect portion for lunch. You can also order full sandwiches or full salads, and they offer chips on the side if you want a little crunch with your meal. For dessert we split an ice cream sandwich called "Monkey in the Middle." It had banana ice cream between two soft cinnamon cookies with chocolate hazelnut spread. We shared it four ways and it was the perfect little sweet ending. They also have a nice selection of canned beverages, and there's a water station out front if you just want something simple.
