The food was pretty good for being the only Chinese restaurant in all of Santa Ynez Valley (if you don't count Panda Express). The PoPo Platter (aka PuPu Platter) had the paper wrapped chicken replaced by beef skewers. The Egg Drop Soup we ordered included seaweed was the small order, and it can feed 5 easily. Water Boiled Fish was one of a few Sichuanese offerings on the menu, and it looked and tasted close to the authentic version. Of course, I had to have my Kung Pao Chicken. And we rounded out the meal with Assorted Pan Fried Noodles. Enjoyed having the meal here as a service was very good as well. Mind stopping here during my next wine tasting trip in the area.

My husband was I visiting Solvang and craving for Chinese food and decided to check China Panda out. Food and service were great! Would recommend and go back again!

    Spacious, clean interior.

Friday, 12-20-2024: We were so impressed with the food here three years ago we knew we had to come back here for a late lunch. The last time we were here was during the pandemic and they were only taking orders to go from their front door. Today we stepped in and were surprised at how spacious it is. We were greeted so nicely by the sweet, young lady, who directed us to a booth. She took our drink orders of iced teas with lemon. We glanced at the lunch specials. We're creatures of habit and I chose Cashew Chicken and hubby wanted Orange Chicken. We both opted for egg flower drop soup and given two veggie egg rolls. We told our server that we loved the food here and remembered how good it was those years ago. She was very thankful. We enjoyed the tasty egg drop soup. The rest of the food came out quickly. It was so aromatic that we knew we were in for a treat. The Cashew Chicken and Orange Chicken were as delicious as we remembered. So happy we decided to return. They definitely did not disappoint. Later, the owner came by to ask how we liked the food. We told him we had visited three years ago when it was COVID time and they were only taking orders to go. We said we loved how memorable & delicious their food was that we wanted to eat here before returning home. He asked where home was & told him Temecula. He was so sweet that he gave us a $5.00 discount. We were pleasantly surprised & grateful. The exceptional food and top notch customer service will have us return next time. It was a perfect ending to our trip in Solvang.

We were camping in Buellton and wanted Chinese food. China Panda did not disappoint! Nice ambiance and excellent service. Everything we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be back every time we're in town.

I'm so glad I tried this place! We went here after making a reservation, and I noted on my…read morereservation that we have a small dog and they facilitated that. So I really appreciate it. They let us sit inside the restaurant and a little hidden from everyone else which was perfect because my small dog could be barking every chance she got. Now before I visited, I saw the overall rating on Yelp isn't that great, but I assume it could be something totally unrelated to the flavor of the food itself because the pictures look great to me. And I'm Asian so I know what a good asian food looks like. Well I can tell you, everything we ordered were delicious, no notes! We got the lumpia, calamari, and fried rice. The fried rice is noted as market price so we didn't know how much it would be. I asked what comes with it and it didn't come with steak or prawns so I assumed it would be okayish. Well the fried rice was delicious and big portions with some sausages and fried egg, but holy moly it was the priciest fried rice! Haha $40. It's okay tho, still glad we tried it. The lumpia was yummy, a little on the salty side but very enjoyable. Now the calamari was the winner to me! I think it might be the best calamari I've had. Not only cos the calamari itself was good, not chewy, and crispy on the outside; but also everything else that came with it to cut the richness! I think it's some pickled onions, might be some kimchi too. Just try it! I would love to try the fried chicken also but they're sold out. Next time call them first to make sure they spare you some!

The prices were already hard to justify, but the service made it even worse. My son has an egg allergy, so we politely asked if the kitchen could make a dish without eggs. We were simply told "no" and advised to order something else. For a restaurant, especially one charging premium prices, I expected at least some effort to accommodate a basic food allergy request. To make matters worse, our waitress was not friendly or welcoming at all. The overall attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by dining there. Looking back, we probably should have walked out when we first encountered the poor service. Unfortunately, between the overpriced food, lack of accommodation for allergies, and unfriendly service, we won't be returning.

I hadn't tried aebleskiver before so I have no point of comparison, but it was a little ball of dough with jam and powdered sugar. I ordered 3 which was plenty to split with my boyfriend just to get a taste of it. It's personally not my favorite since I think I would prefer a slightly crispier fried dough ball but I'm guessing that would be less authentic. I was glad to try it out so easily! The service was quick. It would have been nice if there were some seating outside--there were 2 benches, but it was pretty limited. It made a lot of sense why everyone was walking around with it!

If you order it to-go, it comes in a little paper boat. The Æbleskiver have a pancake-like texture, and the jam and powdered sugar give it a nice sweetness. The English muffins were house made, delicious sauce, thinly sliced ham, poached eggs perfectly cooked. I got fish and chips. The chips were malted wedge potatoes. It seemed like normal wedge potatoes, i didnt taste any malted flavor. The fish was rockfish. It was definitely fresh, really good, you could almost taste the sea. The batter was very very light and crunchy. They only thing I would say is it was a little oily. The tartar sauce was good, nothing unusual. There was a side of fresh greens, not cole slaw. They were very lightly dressed and exceptionally fresh, like just picked from someone's garden. If you love cole slaw you may be disappointed, if you love fresh greens you will be happy. My husband got a bloody Mary. It was quite tasty. Spicy and you could taste the horseradish. The olives were really good (I'm an olive lover). Coffee was excellent. Since our table wasn't quite ready, they invited us to grab a drink at the attached bar while we waited. This review is specifically about the bar. I was surprised that the bar at a Michelin-starred restaurant didn't have a blender, as it seemed to limit the cocktail options available to guests. My husband's friend asked for a lemon martini and then inquired about a lemon daiquiri. The response from the bartender, Monica, made the request seem unusual or overly complicated, which made the interaction feel less welcoming than expected. I'm sorry but Monica could sure use some tips on customer service and professionalism. I watched this interaction from where I was sitting nearby and it was cringy. If certain cocktails can't be prepared because of equipment or menu limitations, that's completely understandable. However, it would be helpful if those limitations were communicated in a more guest-friendly way and accompanied by alternative recommendations. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the bar experience to reflect the same level of hospitality as the dining room. Once we were seated, the dining room staff was attentive, welcoming, and accommodating, and the rest of our evening was enjoyable.
